Hi!
I offer engaging and personalized guitar lessons for students. We build upon fundamentals skills through each lesson as the student learns their favorite songs. We also explore different aspects of music including improvisation, theory, composition, and even recording their own music. I provide study materials such as PDF files, backing tracks and videos to help students review what we cover in the lessons.
I had the privilege of receiving my B.A. in Guitar Performance from Berklee College of Music where I had the opportunity of learning and performing with great musicians from around the world. Because of my experience working with students of all ages from kids to adults, I truly believe that I can help anyone accomplish their musical goals!
I am currently only doing online lessons on Skype.
I look forward to meeting you and getting you started with lessons!
Best,
Juan

Vir is beyond your typical vocal coach. He was a huge help on things like pitch accuracy and phrasing, but more than anything, his focus on getting me to tap into and harness my inner power has already paid huge dividends in my recordings and performances. Further, Vir is an amazing person to know and his home-studio in Berkeley is magnificent!

Are you interested in being able to confidently play lead and rhythm parts in a band? Want to learn to write songs? Want to learn to just strum along to your favorite records by yourself?
I will teach you or your child all of the knowledge and tools needed to do whatever your dream is on your instrument. My aim is to help every student achieve their personal goals on their instrument within the context of a relaxed and patient environment that promotes a love of music!
I achieve this by:
1) Individualizing lesson plans so that each student stays engaged and learns in the style that is best for them as learners.
2) Ensuring that students learn BOTH how to play their instrument as well as the theory behind what they are playing. This creates a more well-rounded musician that is capable of problem solving on their instrument and being able to play in a variety of settings.
I have been playing music for over 10 years and teaching private lessons since 2014. I ...

The Guitar is my first love. I customize every lesson for every individual student that I have, and base the heart of each lesson off of the infatuation I have for my six-stringed side kick. I love to use the guitar as a tool to expand my students creativity. My students learn to listen and appreciate a broad variety of styles and experience the full music spectrum.
Lessons will cover scales, theory, chords, jazz and blues progression as well as Crafting your tone for your amplifier, finger picking and performance techniques.
About Rachel
I started my musical path in a Ballet Studio. I fell in love with the crackle of the vinyl record playing as I learned to listen and dance with the rhythm. I started playing the guitar when I was in elementary and took classical lessons until I was a teenager.I really enjoy the art of practice

My years of teaching have helped me to understand what it takes to make consistent progress in learning the guitar. My approach is focused on helping the student acquire habits that will aid them in forging solid technique and musicianship, consequently removing limitations to allow access to all the joy that music has to offer.

I specialize in providing a great foundation for learning the instrument. Too many students, new to the guitar, get frustrated and quit after just a few lessons, because it falls short of their expectations and they find they are not progressing. I make certain to keep the enthusiasm intact through the entire learning process by making sure the student is actually playing the instrument. I like to think of my method as "Fast Track to Playing Guitar"; my goal is to keep the student's interest in the instrument at a sustained level while they are grasping the fundamentals. Because I teach Voice as well, and have made a living accompanying myself on the guitar, I can combine those attributes for my students, if they desire to accompany themselves while singing. I find that many of my students really enjoy that option, and I have uncovered many a student who had never thought of themselves as a vocalist, singing and playing with astounding results... My success rate of having my students ...

Looking forward to our next scheduled lesson next Tuesday"

Chris makes learning really fun. I look forward to my lessons and just told him the other day that I wish my lesson was for 3 hours. I go to Chris for 1.5hr every other week and that gives me to time to practice for 2 weeks. We cover a lot of ground. Chris gives me structure to follow and that helps me. I've only had a few lessons with Chris but I can tell that I am going to make that big leap this year from "practicing" music to "playing" music."

It’s obvious that Ryan has a passion for music, and it shows in his lessons. I would easily give him my highest recommendation."
