Hello! I'm Cole Runge and I want to help you along your journey with the guitar and music!
I'm a working musician located just outside of Chicago. I studied jazz at Elmhurst University under the mentorship of some of the best musicians Chicago has to offer. While I have that formal training, my first love was rock, shred, and all music that features the guitar in cool fashions. My band, Elysian Green, has played some of the great Chicago rock and jazz clubs, sharing bills with the most prominent fusion bands that garner national attention--all while playing nothing but original music. I also have tons of experience gigging around Chicago in a variety of musical scenarios, from playing with jazz singers at the Ritz-Carlton to wedding and church bands.
I have tons of experience and would love to help you with:
-Technique (electric/acoustic guitar)
-Songwriting
-Music theory
-Improvising
-Reading music
-Learning songs by ear
-Learning different genres (jazz, rock, fusion, metal, pop,

Guitar is a beautiful and intricate instrument. There is much more to music and guitar then just theory and scales, there is an art that comes along with playing. Anyone can pick up and play a guitar, but not everyone sounds great doing so. I will teach you how to sound great while building your chops and skills.

Vince has shown patience and professionalism since the first day I started.
He answers questions fully and allow the lessons to flow at a pace that works for me.
His lessons stay on point and we don't proceed unless I have a grasp of the technique or principle.
I recommend him for prospective students of all ages.

My children have been taking lessons with Jordan now for just over a month, and they are loving it! My 7 year old son is doing Guitar, and he has learned to tune his own guitar and is able to play simple songs with 4 basic chords. My daughter who is 5 is taking Piano lessons with Jordan and is able to play 2 simple songs, and able to identify notes on the keyboard while reading music. I appreciate that Jordan teaches the actual music rules and reading of music as well as numbers for the fingers. He is great about having the kids hold themselves and their hands correctly, and having them keep trying something until they get it right and reinforcing the correct practice once it is right. I would refer anyone to Jordan to learn an instrument! He is amazing!"

Follow this expert advice from guitar teacher Mike B. to find the proper amount of practice time you need to achieve your guitar goals... As a guitar instructor, one of the most common questions I get asked is "how often should I practice?" Students are told various amounts of time that are deemed "proper" to practice each day. Some say a half hour, some say an hour, some say more, some say less. With all of thes …
