I noticed in my first lesson Tamera was throughly prepared with all the foundational info that I would need to be able to stand before walking. She was also mindful to allow me to sing as I normally would so she could correct my errors and therefore help me achieve my best potential

I have been taking lessons from Michael for about 9 months, and it has been one of the best experiences I have ever had. He is an excellent guitar player, and instructor. He is patient, thorough, and very willing to pace his instruction with the ability of the student. I am in my late 50's and he is just the person I had hoped for in a teacher. I consider going to lesson not a chore, but a pleasure.

Based on our first lesson, I would highly recommend Becca for a teacher of young kids. She came to the class prepared, was very patient with my son, and left him wanting more and with something to work on. It was a very good experience.

I like to make learning an instrument fun and easy to fit into your schedule!

If you're an adult finally getting around to learning your dream instrument or a child following your passion of playing music I tailor your lessons specifically to you. We look at what you want to play, pick specific songs that you want to learn, and learn the techniques you need to play these songs. It sounds simple, but it's so effective and much more fun to learn this way!

About Grant

Hi!

I'm Grant!

And it would be my pleasure to be your music instructor.

I teach all of the fretted string instruments:
Guitar | Banjo | Mandolin | Bass | Ukulele

I structure my lesson plans specifically around what you want to learn and how you want to learn it. We will go as slow or fast through the material as you'd like, focusing on playing songs and the techniques needed to get there.

If you have any questions for me, hit the "Ask Grant A Question" button above.

Cheers!

Private Guitar Teacher

I am a songwriter and guitar player, performing in two bands around Boston. I play both acoustic and electric guitar, mostly in pop/rock/blues styles.

A graduate of Berklee College of Music, I have a good foundation of music theory, and try to incorporate this knowledge together with instrumental studies. I am a current Guitar Instructor at a local music school.

About Claire

2 decades of playing experience, I studied classical violin growing up and began teaching my first student at the age of 16 - I have been teaching violin to students of all ages for over 10 years of all levels and styles.

I completed all the ABRSM exams and earned an ATCL diploma from Trinity College in Classical Violin Performance.

I perform both classical and electric violin, occasionally solo, but more commonly in rock bands, quartets, orchestras and recording sessions all across Asia and America. I am able to perform and teach in varying styles and genres.

In 2013, I moved to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music, where I studied Jazz, bluegrass, gypsy jazz and middle eastern violin.

A multi-instrumentalist, I also play and teach the electric guitar, acoustic guitar and piano.

I also produce and engineer music, recording in

dependent artists and bands based out of Boston.

I presently write and perform in two bands, an indie rock project called Paper Citizen and pop/HipHop group called Mad Yonder.

I teach privately in my studio in Palms, as well as at a music studio in West LA. I also travel to student’s homes.

I love playing music and I always hope to inspire a similar level of interest and enthusiasm with my students by exploring different styles of music - through a combination of learning songs, improvisation/creation and technique.

I work hard to help you achieve your goals and most importantly, get you playing with confidence!

Hello!,

Our lessons will be relaxed and fun. I take pride in tailoring my curriculum to the needs and goals of each individual student- This helps me make sure that you are learning at a pace that feels comfortable for you, yet challenging.

We will work together to develop both your musicianship and creativity. I am a firm believer in music being a healing and mind-opening practice. One of my primary goals while teaching is to give my students an outlet to express themselves in a healthy and meaningful way. Let's get started!

Topics we can focus on together:
- Theory
- Improvisation (rock solos!)
- Strumming/finger-picking patterns
- How to sing and play at the same time
- Songwriting/Recording techniques
- Lyric Writing
- Stage Presence
- Exploring different musical genres

About Dayna

Hello!,

My classical training began at age 10, when I started to play the viola. From there, I was able to translate my musical skills to violin, guitar, piano, voice, composition, and songwriting.

Originally a biology major at SUNY Purchase College, I quickly became restless knowing that I was unable to focus on music enough. So, I switched it up, followed my passion, and began studying music theory and production. Since then, my life has been focused on teaching, performing, writing, and recording music- and I wouldn't have it any other way!
It's been quite a journey, and I can't wait to share all that I've learned along the way with you.

Whether you are just starting out, or are looking to further the knowledge you already have, I will meet you at where you are, and help you to achieve your personal goals.

Together we can work o

n technique, theory, improvisation, ear-training, songwriting, and more!

About Jeff

I started playing guitar at age 11 (41 as of this writing) and was active on stage as an actor before that, so I've been a performer my whole life. I've played original music in many genres, cover bands in multiple genres and even play in a tribute band. I started off pursuing technical ability and followed the popular "shred" guitar players. I then discovered "slower" blues players and brought more dynamics into my playing. I've taken a turn towards songwriting and music production and produce songs for myself and other clients. I truly love all types of music, whether rock, blues, jazz, funk, soul, heavy metal, classical, flamenco, world music, EDM, old-school country, musical-theater, etc. I love it all. There's a special place in my heart for Latin-jazz and heavy metal - for the raw passion of it - and EDM and funk, for the dance-abil

ity of it. Because in the end, we all want to move our bodies to music!

"Matt is such a great teacher! I went into guitar lessons just hoping to be able to learn to play a few songs, but I've been taking lessons for months now.
His studio is super cool and it's fun to jam out and learn songs, plus Matt is helping me work on my own songwriting."

"It's hard to imagine a better guitar instructor than Indigo.
As an aspiring singer-songwriter, I came to Indigo a few months ago pleading that she teach
me the ins and outs of the instrument. I tasked her with this: save me from joining the masses of capo-dependent hopefuls.
Not only does she customize lessons with my goals in mind (ear training, technique, theory), but she breaks down the 'intimidating' concepts in a sneaky way. One day, while practicing, I started to realize her genius! No longer is the guitar a complete mystery to me.
She is easy-going, patient and encouraging.
I look forward to my lessons with Indigo every week. I think of her as a mentor and hope to work with her for a long time.
Needless to say, I highly recommend!! I imagine with her brilliant skills and experience Indigo would make a wonderful teacher for just about anyone!"

"The location is great (right by my house), his scheduling is flexible, online payment takes no time at all and perhaps best of all Jason is a great guy, v
ery professional yet very personable and down to earth.

There is no doubt that Jason is a phenomenal guitarist. Very inspiring and encouraging. His guitar abilities are one of the best I have seen in person. Lessons are fun, interesting, and helpful. I have only been taking lessons for a little more than a couple months now, but I already see improvement.

It is great to take lessons with somebody who is both patient and encouraging at the same time. He is especially good at recognizing if the pace is getting too fast/slow and adjusting for that. I consider myself fortunate to have found such a good teacher."

"this was my first guitar lesson with scott, and it's been many years since i've even tried picking up a guitar. i enjoyed the lesson. scott started with
me at a place that was good and comfortable for me. i felt like a klutz and he had a good way as a teacher in working with me at that klutzy level, listening to me and going at a pace that felt good. i'm grateful, and i know i need to show it by practicing!"

Steve is a very good and extremely patient teacher. As much as I may dislike learning theory, Steve knows how to bring it all together s

"This guy is a true master at his craft, but also a delightfully positive and patient instructor. Words really don't do him justice, but I can say with gr
eat certainty, I am ten times better after only a few months.
He has all kinds of 'hacks' to make guitar easier. I tried learning for years, but only now am I really improving tonally as well as musically.
If you want to really play with joy, and the knowledge/technique to back it up, who's your guy? THIS GUY. PERIOD."

"Kelvin is a phenomenal teacher of classical guitar. Our teenage son wanted to take classical lessons for a while, after having happily done a couple years
with School of Rock. He and Kelvin meshed well, and I feel our son learned a lot over the course of a couple more years.

When one of us had a schedule conflict, we had the ability to do a lesson via Skype. Let me tell you, that came in mighty handy in the winter of 2019.

Schedule with Kelvin; I am certain you'll be glad that you did."

3 Things Every Guitarist Needs To Know About Songwriting

By Suzy S.

Writing a song can be one of the most satisfying experiences you'll have with your instrument! Guitar teacher Samuel B. shares three things every guitarist should know about writing a song on guitar... As a teacher, having you develop the ability to express yourself is my number one goal. Playing guitar solos is one form of personal expression. Writing songs is another. If you've never written a song, you might think of songwriting as something that only a few special people can do. In real …
