If I could give Brian 10 stars, I would. He is enthusiastic, present, supportive and highly knowledgeable. Learning instruments has always been a challenge for me , but Brian makes being a banjo beginner an absolute joy. I look forward to practicing every day, and can really hear my progress - which amazes me because it's only been just over a month. I can see myself working with Brian for the long haul. He puts me at ease, and always gives great responsive tips that improve my playing immediately. I feel SO lucky to have stumbled across his profile.

I teach guitar from a wide background in many genres. You can expect to learn chord and scale theory, as well as mechanics, tone control, note and key identification, and ear training. We can explore any genre of interest, however my specialties are in blues, rock, classic rock, bluegrass, and country.

About Richard

Music is my life. Since the age of 16, I have studied the guitar extensively. During my high-school years I was involved in band, marching band, choir, and independent music theory. I started my first band when I was 19 in the U.S. Army, and my life has never been the same since. I played music

Richard was amazing! Always a joy to have him in the house. He was always on time and well prepared for our daughter's lessons. He also kept the lessons entertaining for her. Our daughter learned a lot and definitely improved quite a bit during the time he worked with her. We would highly recommend Richard to any parent with a child interested in learning and playing guitar.

Sean has been an excellent guitar teacher so far. I've been working with him for almost a year at this point and my playing has gotten exponentially better, with a steep derivative. He's good at teaching many styles and is a friendly and welcoming instructor.

First teacher that really helped me learn scales! Taught me Daughters by John Mayer in less than an hour. I would highly recommend Sean to anyone just picking up the guitar, and I bet he would be great for people with higher skill sets too!

The guitar has been around me my whole life. I picked it up as a hobby in high school in the late 90's and never looked back. It's become a way to express myself, share my gifts with people and also, fortunately enough, make a living. I love teaching students of all ages and interest levels; whether you just want to learn a couple of chords to play around the campfire, or work towards being a pro-level lead guitar player.

About Chris

Chris grew up hearing his dad play guitar around the house and at live shows. He “caught the bug” around age 13 and hasn’t stopped playing since! He’s been teaching guitar since 2003 and received his Bachelor of Arts in Music at North Central University in 2008 where he studied jazz, blues, rock, c

My 15 year-old son started guitar this summer. He has truly enjoyed working with Chris. Chris is patient and encouraging, as well as being a cool guy that my son looks up to.

My 13-years old son was reluctant to take music lessons. He had not liked piano (with a different instructor) when he was younger, but agreed to try guitar. Since the first trial lesson, he has been excited to learn more!

Chris is a fun teacher who knows his stuff and who communicates well with both his students and their parents. I have three kids and have found it’s difficult to find a teacher who is responsive to parents + engaging with youth + gifted at music.

His rates are very reasonable for our area. His in-home lesson space is professional and comfortable — I get to sit on a comfy couch and get work done during my son’s weekly lesson. In addition, Chris goes above and beyond to make sure the lessons are meeting our expectations. He tracked down strings for us when we accidentally broke one. He has rescheduled lessons due to our busy schedules. He is genuinely kind and such a pleasure to work with — we couldn’t be more thrilled!

Our kids have loved working with Chris. He picks songs they're excited to play, teaches them patiently, and has a lot of fun with them. They've made a ton of progress since they started with Chris, and they're always excited to see him!

"This was the first lesson. I'm starting from scratch with learning all about the guitar. Most of the lesson was spent with Kevin trying to show me how to tune my new guitar. Then there was a glitch with my trying to download the guitartuna app he recommended, so that didn't work. Little disappointed. By lesson #2, my guitar should be fine-tuned. Kevin provided practice lessons. I look forward to practice practice practice. Kevin was patient, very knowledgeable, and seems like a great instructor to learn from. I look forward to the next lesson."
