Whether you're the next Taylor Swift, want to rock out like Metallica, or just want to play simple folk tunes around the campfire, I'm the teacher you want! I've performed on stage and have done studio work on top of teaching on both acoustic and electric guitar. We'll cover music theory, ear training, soloing, and explore different styles of music on top of learning the songs you want to play!
STUDYING WITH ME:
Learning guitar should be interesting and fun! While we're studying all the different aspects of the instrument, you'll also be learning how to play your favorite songs and solos! I approach each student as an individual and structure their lessons according to what I determine they need, as well as what they are interested in musically. I concentrate on many different areas; ear training, theory, playing technique, improvisation, various styles of music, and, the physics of the guitar. Understanding how the instrument works is important in my opinion. My long term goal is to teach a student how they can teach themselves down the line. Understanding why you’re playing something is just important as knowing how to play it. I aim to give a student rich and well rounded one-on-one time!
ave been teaching and performing for over a decade both in the US, and in England. I have played in various bands and have produced independent artists. I have worked for a recording studio and for various academic institutions including the Filomen M. D'Agostino Greenberg Music School in New York city.
I obtained my degree from Purchase College in New York and am a member of their Conservatory of Music.
*** Lesson Details *** I construct lessons for each individual student depending on their musical tastes, goals, and current skill level etc. I want each person to get as much from their time studying with me as possible. Within three to six months, I'll have you working on timing, theory, ear training, improv, and songs/styles of music you may be interested in. I'm laid back, however, I expect at least the minimum practice time between lessons, which I'll change throughout the course of our time together depending on your skill level etc. Practice materials I draw up are included. I write out everything in plain English and do not require the use of sheet music!
*** Studio Equipment *** Small recording studio, piano, various guitars, bass, and amps.
*** Travel Equipment *** guitar, bass, laptop, digital recorder.
*** Specialties *** I concentrate on ear training, improvisation, and explore styles ranging from pop, alternative, rock, prog, and blues, to metal, funk, and folk etc. I do not require sight reading skills for any level of student. Rather, I work with the student with theory and arrangement conventions to really understand the music. This intern, greatly sharpens their musical ear and helps them to learn music much faster because they understand how it is put together; why and how it works, etc.
***Teaching Special Needs*** I have experience teaching students who have been visually impaired, blind, hearing impaired, or who have had mild learning disabilities. I am also comfortable with a student bringing their service dog or therapy dog to our lessons if they wish.
Cameron is an excellent teacher for me. I am 11 years old and have been playing for almost a year with him. He is patient and makes me stretch to be a better guitarist. He takes time to find songs at my level of learning and accommodates my tastes in music. I would recommend him for anyone who is interested in playing guitar.

A solid teacher with a lot of experience
Cameron is great at tailoring the lessons to my musical taste without compromising the theory, basics and fundamentals.
I have been taking lessons for one year and will not go elsewhere anytime soon. His vast musical knowledge helps merge the theory with concrete examples. No question remains unanswered.

I've taken guitar lessons from a few teachers and Dan is the best fit I've ever had. He is very patient and does a fantastic job of tailoring lessons to individual needs. He clearly loves to play music and is very thoughtful about how he shares this knowledge in his lessons. He never fails to encourage me as a guitar player and reinforces a 'can do' attitude. His positive and calm demeanor also make for a fantastic instructor. Thank you, Dan.

First lesson was a great experience for my kids. They are practicing on their own!!! I could tell they couldn't wait for their next lesson. Thank you Dan!!!
I've been teaching beginning rock, folk, and pop guitar since 2008. I focus on building strong fundamentals and basic knowledge of music structure and theory so that my students may become competent, independent musicians capable of creating fulfilling musical experiences for themselves and in ensemble settings.
I'm a Berklee College of Music-trained multi-instrumentalist with years of teaching experience. I have experience performing, composing, and/or recording on the genres of classical, jazz, Latin, rock and pop music, and I have extensive knowledge of jazz and classical music theory. I take great pride and pleasure in helping my students realize their innate musical abilities and in providing the structure and knowledge to allow them to expand those abilities in whatever direction their passion dictates.

I have 40 years of playing drums & percussion and 12 years of teaching beginning and intermediate drummers by ear, performance & notation. Preforming drums has brought so much enjoyment to my life and has expanded my cognitive and creative mind more than I would have ever realized when I started in 1978. Teaching/sharing my drumming experience is a passion, my students are taught not only how to play drums but also about music structure (verse, chorus, bridge, etc.), how to perform with other musicians and how to dissect a piece of music. Various styles and rhythms are taught and rudiments are covered thoroughly - nothing better than an impressive double stroke roll! I have always been a teacher that I feel can understand each personality and adjust my approach to each lesson as needed and furthermore, I always treat my students with res
pect, courtesy and patience which I find makes them more apt to relax, listen, learn, feel the music and have fun!
For beginners we will begin by learning the simple/core chords that are most frequently found in popular songs. Upon learning the chords we will move onto transitioning between chords and learn some basic tunes and simple strumming patterns. After that we will begin with more advanced chords which will allow you the chance to play a much larger variety of songs. Once those chords have been mastered students will begin to learn more advanced strumming patterns and transitions between chords, along with how to read sheet music and tablature.
Hello everybody, my name is Michael and I have been playing both the guitar and piano since I was four years old. I am a full-time music instructor, and I also perform frequently on the weekend. My main musical interests include americana and country music, but I have spent time learning several other types of music as well. My favorite style to teach is the blues. I am looking to teach beginner to intermediate students and help them learn/perfect the basic and intermediate skills of guitar and piano.
Enjoyed the first lesson a lot! We spent time going over basic open chords, different ways to finger them and then we worked on transitioning between them. Michael was very patient and encouraging. We also touched on some basic music theory... really ooking forward to the upcoming lessons!

Very nice guy and knowledgeable. Easy to get along with and really works to make it a fun and enjoyable experience.
My curriculum is tailored to meet each students specific needs. I am a classically trained guitarist with experience teaching students of all ages and styles. I teach theory, chords, how to read music and more.
I teach guitar, piano, violin and ukulele to anyone 5 or older! Lessons are fun and exciting, we are constantly learning! I am an enthusiastic, patient and motivated teacher.
Guitar requires foundation to be able to play the fun stuff. In teaching guitar, I assign classical pieces along with pieces that bring joy to the player. I specialize in improvisation and love to see players playing things not written on the staff while still able to play their Carcassi studies.
I am currently pursuing a Jazz Performance degree at Florida State University. However trombone is not how I fell in love with music. I started taking classical guitar lessons at age seven and successfully continued through high school, becoming part of the all state guitar ensembles. I started on trombone at age 11. Through jazz, funk, blues and improvisation I fell in love with the sound and techniques I could implement on a brass horn. I continued playing both instruments in a funk band and still gig regularly on both.
Hey guitar players! What makes my teaching services stand out is that I teach nearly all styles of the guitar including rock, blues, metal, country, jazz, and classical. My main emphasis is in classical guitar, but I have much experience learning a variety of styles from several teachers from around the world. I also like to make our lessons fun with lots of playing and do not mind being patient with beginners. I teach younger students at CB Music Studios in Roseville, at my home in Carmichael, or privately at students' homes. Hope to see you soon! :)
Hey guitar players! I am guitar instructor in the Sacramento area, and teach most styles of the guitar including rock, blues, metal, jazz, acoustic, and classical. My main emphasis is in classical guitar, however I grew up playing electric and acoustic studying with several teachers who have taught me a variety of styles in the past 13 years. The past five years of my life, I've been studying the classical guitar with guitar maestros John Dearman and Richard Savino. I currently teach at CB Music Studios in Roseville, at my home in Carmichael, or at students' homes. Hope to see you soon!
"Wes is a great teacher -he has a lot of experience and excellent technique. It is evident he loves music/guitar and is equally as passionate for teaching
what he loves. He makes learning to play the guitar easy to grasp and he is very patient and encouraging. Looking forward to more jam sessions!"
"Jeff is an outstanding teacher.
I started taking guitar lessons with him since November 2012, for more than 2 years now. I was an absolute beginner wit
h the guitar, and Jeff taught me the basics of the guitar amazingly and helped me build a strong guitar core. Jeff lets you stay a few extra minutes after the class ends, if you are "in the zone" or if you are just finishing up the lesson. He also gives great advice on the type of guitar you would be best off buying. Jeff also tells you when you need to change the strings and gives advice on fixing up the guitar should it have a problem. Also, Jeff teaches you any song you want. The genre doesn't matter - Jeff will help you master any song you wish to learn. One of the most important thing about Jeff is that he is always looking to find ways to make playing guitar easier and make it sound better. He gives little tips that greatly help you, in both playing chords or songs. He is also very patient and will always answer your questions, so don't be afraid to ask anything. Jeff also supplements his lessons with the Hal Leonard book, to help you learn how to read and play written music and he also explains what all the symbols mean.
I would highly recommend Jeff to anyone who wants to learn the guitar as he goes to great lengths to help his students in any way possible."
"She's just awesome!! Plain and simple 😀"
"And she sings! :)"
"Keeps the lesson moving and is very positive with feedback."
"Caleb is a very patient, easy going instructor. He makes it fun and enjoyable even when I am having difficulty."
"Nils has been amazing to work with. Having used books and some other self teaching methods in the past, I felt stuck and after 1 lesson with Nils I immedi
ately was able to get to the next step. One huge difference from other instructors is that Nils encourages me to learn with music that I like which makes a huge difference when practicing. Nils is extremely knowledgeable and patient, I can't thank him enough for his help and expertise."
"First lesson and it was fantastic - Rachel REALLY cares about her profession and I felt it in her teaching method - can't wait to get some practice in and
get back for many more lessons!"
"Working with Jeff was easy! He makes lessons enjoyable, with reasonable material to learn and I’ve been able to progress with good time! He is patient and
personable which is nice especially in a virtual setting."
