I've been teaching ukulele for 15 years. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to strum accompaniments to simple songs. As time goes on you'll be able to play more advanced chords and combine melody with the chords to do solo arrangments. For Children, I typically use The Hal Leonard book "Ukulele for Kids". It's a great book for getting the student up and running very quickly. For Adults the Hal Leonard Ukulele Method book 1 and 2. For someone who has played before The National Guitar Workshop has a uke book that works well for a little more advanced students. I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

I've been taking ukulele lessons with Chuck for over a year now. I am always impressed with his musical knowledge and appreciate the way he goes beyond the songs and also teachers me musical notation, chord progressions, and more. My lessons are always fun, with just the right amount of challenge to keep my skill development moving forward. Thanks, Chuck!"

As you learn to navigate the notes on the fretboard, you’ll build an understanding of the basics - so you can start playing tunes in no time! Once you’ve mastered the individual notes, you can use them to build chords, and chords quickly turn into songs. These individual ukulele notes are also necessary for learning how to play licks or riffs. In this article, we'll discuss different ways to tune …
