Guitar is one of the most popular instruments today. It has a long history as an instrument, and with the invention of the electric guitar, has become a dominant voice of multiple generations.

Vince began playing guitar as a teenager. He initially learned on his mother's electric guitar and 12-string acoustic guitar. He took some lessons, but is largely self taught by transcribing music. Since attending college for trumpet, Vince has applied that musical knowledge to the guitar.

Vince has recorded guitar on many of his solo albums including Syzygy and Sound Plan as well as other artists' music. He performs regularly with the John Byrne Band on 6-string banjo (tuned like a standard guitar) and has appeared on electric 12-string and 6-string acoustic guitar.

Vince owns an array of guitars: 6-string electrics, 12-string electric, 6-string acoustics, 12-string acoustics, and 6-string banjo. He has a few amps and many pedals to augment the guitars' sound. He teaches from his ...

Kept missing class without any heads up so I had to just wait around and hope he'll show up, ignored my calls and messages to reschedule, so I had to just get a refund from TakeLessons. As a teacher he is good, but very unprofessional behavior in terms of accountability and respect for students' time.

I’m a super beginner. So far so good! He starts from the beginning and doesn’t make you feel dumb.

Evan was a great Bass teacher. I had fun every lesson and got significantly better at the instrument.

I've tried using on line videos and ukulele lesson books to learn to play the ukulele. But I couldn't seem to get past a certain level. I signed up for lessons with Athena and I understand a LOT more about the composition, and how to bring it all together in my playing. She's great at understanding my "why" questions, and is very patient as I learn each new thing. At the end of our lesson she gives me a practice plan so I know what to work on for the week to improve. It's made a big difference. I appreciate how quickly Athena understands what's confusing me about something new, and how quickly she explains it in a logical, clear way. I'm enjoying my lessons, and Athena has been encouraging at each step of the way. If you want to learn a new instrument, or improve your skill, Athena is a great instructor to work with!

"I have been playing guitar for 18 years on and off again (key words: on and off again). I must say that I have been in a “stalemate” in terms of advancing my capabilities for the longest time. I have been playing the same main riff Def Leppard songs over and over for years… In addition, I had no grasp of musical theory whatsoever, with the exception of the very basic chord formations.

I recently saw Nathan perform at a local open mic night. I was so taken back by his seamless ability to flow up and down the fret board. He is one guitar virtuoso, to say the least. He made an announcement to the crowd that he gave guitar lessons. I was intrigued and inquired more after he performed.

Currently, I have taken half a dozen guitar lessons under the guidance of Nathan. He has taken my guitar work to a whole other level – somewhere I couldn't even imagine doing. I told him my goal is to “solo” more and he taught me just that.

Nathan started teaching me in the key of C and tied in the boring theory in an easy way to grasp. By the end of my first lesson, I grasped E Phrygian, G Mixolydian, D Dorian, etc. and how they all interweave together.
Nathan is a class A guitar teacher. Without reservation, I recommend Nathan as your guitar teacher. He is respectful and will teach you at “your” pace, which is something my previous teacher 18 years ago never did. Thumbs up, Nathan; looking forward to next week’s lesson. I have been practicing a lot and I owe that to you!!!!!!!"

"Jedi Training. That's what I like to call my guitar lessons. Because Trevor teaches you how to use the force. I like how Trevor gets me out of my left brain with exercises like closing my eyes while I pick out chords & notes. He know how to push me past my comfort zone while still keeping it fun.

The topics of lessons aren't one size fits all (like some teachers that teach the same thing every week to all their students) But he tailors each lessons to my interests & deftly weaves all aspects of music together from theory, to chord structure, to picking, to levitating x-wings using your mind."
