I have been playing guitar for 15 years. I make lesson plans based on each individual, so I don't teach every one the same boring songs or use the same regiment with everyone. I want to teach you what YOU want to learn.

About Jeremie
I'm a self taught guitarist who has been playing for nearly 20 years. I have played professionally in numerous bands and ensembles ranging from jazz to folk to rock, and I've been writing music for the same length of time. I currently perform with one of my students from TakeLessons named Mackenzie O'Brien.

I graduated from Columbia College Chicago in May 2014 with a BA in Music Composition. I studied under composers: Drew Baker, Kenn Kumpf, Ilya Levinson, and Marcos Balter. I've performed and worked with members from the groups, Del Niente and Chicago's Composer's Collective.

I build my lesson plans around each of my students based on their interests. I'll try to incorporate music they enjoy into their music regime. I keep lessons pretty relaxed, but will challenge a student who is looking for something m
ore difficult. I go at the pace you learn best at!

Bass guitar, ukulele, song-writing, counterpoint, orchestrating, arranging, music theory, and composing are subjects I'm well versed in and love to teach to other people.

I'm experienced with all kinds of music software, such as: Pro Tools, Logic, Garage Band, Cubase, FL Studio, Finale, Sibelius. If you want to learn how to write, record, mix, and master your own music, there's never been a better time to learn.

We will learn proper technique, timing, and reading music.

About Hissael
I have been teaching and tutoring students for 6 years now. I teach math and guitar. The thing I love most about my teaching isn't the end result of a student's passing report card or a student's accomplishment of learning a difficult musical piece. It is the effort that takes place between the student and the tasks, along with guidance. The student's ability to think and approach the tasks, whether it is music, math, or English in a way that fully immerses the student's creativity and understanding is at the foundation of my teaching. I can help your child pass his/her tests, I can help them read music and play their favorite songs, but, I encourage them to overcome the challenges that they face when they are on their own in the classroom and practice room. This is the curriculum I teach.

Learn your favorite songs and traditional tunes of the genre of your choice. I can teach you to improvise and get a feel for how songs are written. We can work with written music or guitar tablature, your choice. I can show you important patterns for both hands and teach you some to tricks to really accentuate a normally dull guitar part

About Michael
I am a classically trained and professional musician who has worn many different musical hats over the years. I began playing drums when I was 14, in Houston, TX with Craig LeMay, and since then I have learned many different string and world instruments. I studied music theory and vocal performance at the Florence University of the Arts in Italy, taken sitar lessons from Mita Nag in Kolkatta, India, and jazz performance in Austin, TX with Joey Colarusso. I have played in many different bands over the years, such as accompanying Michael Kiwanuka with the musical saw, accompanying Katie Sachs with the musical saw, playing bass guitar with Halaska and DJing private events with Spacecraft Entertainment. I have been teaching music to special education students, in Austin public schools, and foster children with Kids in a New Groove. I have als
o built and modified many of my own instruments and ready to teach you some quirky musical production skills as well. I believe listening and being adaptable to an individual student's needs are the keys to teaching anyone to express themselves through music.

After studying Spanish for 2 years at the university level and extensive travel to Latin America I am fluent in Spanish in both the academic and conversational sides of the language.

Michael was an excellent teacher. Very relaxed, patient and understanding. He taught me a combination of songs and some music theory that was reasonably challenging to practice at home.

If I could give ZERO stars, I would!
This instructor stood me up.
I showed up at his home for our first lesson only to find out that he wasn't there.
I've also contacted "takelessons.com", but have had no response from them either!

We will cover the basics of guitar and reading music. We will cover both picking and fingerstyle playing, as well as chords and tabs. We will use method books, but additional music of the student's choice can supplement the books.

About Britta
My name is Britta, and I love piano and teaching! Music has brought great joy to my life, and it all started with the piano. I am eager to share that joy and power with you.

I started playing piano before I can remember and began lessons at age 5. I studied under my phenomenal teacher in Minnesota until I moved away when I was 18. I continued playing duets and quartets at her studio anytime I was back in Minnesota. I spent a few years living abroad and at college in Chicago. I taught first graders for a year at LEARN Excel Charter School in Chicago. Now I’ve relocated to Round Lake Beach, where I have a beautiful 80-year-old baby grand piano and a peaceful in-home studio.

When it comes to music, I think it's important to stay relaxed, push yourself, and have fun. Learning to play an instrument like the piano can be a very rich and
transformative experience for anyone. Whatever it is you're looking for in learning piano, I'm eager to help and share the gifts my teacher gave me.

I'm flexible with my teaching style and can help you reach your goals.

About Vitaly
I’m a Theatre Major from UCSD. I've studied music since my early teens, and have played and performed for over a decade. I love music, and I love creating art. If you’re looking for a by the book instructor (here follow the instructions in your music book) I’m probably not a good fit. Music is fun and should be taught that way. But that does not mean you shouldn’t learn the foundation of good technique and how to master those skills. I enjoy teaching as much as I do playing or performing. That is why I do it. I am a guitar player, singer/songwriter performer and recording artist. I am self taught and formally trained, graduate from Musicians Institute. I play acoustic and electric guitar. As my student, I will work at your pace teaching you basic music theory, guitar chord charts and tab so that you can easily learn how to play your favorite songs and create your own songs.

About cristine
I am a Musicians Institute graduate. guitar player, singer/songwriter, performer and recording artist. I have an Associates degree in Communication studies. I am a guitar instructor at Guitar Center and have been background checked by my employer. In addition to my self released album on Amazon and CD Baby, I performed originals and cover tunes at various coffee houses and pubs in the U.S as well as abroad.
In order to help students easily understand basic music theory such as scales and how chords are constructed, my teaching skills entail some understanding of the piano and how it relates to the guitar. My idea of teaching is to supply the tools needed so that my students can learn a song on their own just by knowing how to read guitar chord charts and tab. I also can provide tips on live performances such as overcoming stage fright.
