I am a self-taught musician with 15 years of experience playing electric and acoustic guitar. My lessons begin by learning what inspires you as a musician, and working to take you where you want to go! Learning some of your favorite songs is often a great place to start. By learning a variety of music, you'll quickly begin to notice patterns & understand basic theory on what notes work together well. From there, you can apply that knowledge to improvisation, as well as songs you may want to write!

From those first few lessons, there's a million different ways we can explore the guitar together. With my lessons, I offer recording time in my home studio where you can learn how to write, record, produce, and mix fully arranged songs!

Reach out to say hi, and let me know what some of your immediate goals and questions are!

Specialties: Indie, Rock, Pop, Alternative, Psychedelic, Folk, Acoustic.
Open to students of all ages.

I was mostly self taught. Taking off after my first couple of lessons. Now I’ve been playing guitar and ukulele for about 8 years. I believe that anyone can learn and that everyone will eventually find their own personal style, but I’ll take the time to help you mold that style. I have the patience to teach properly, and I care that you learn. Teaching excites me! Give me a challenge. I can teach both kids and adults

About Reymar

I took guitar classes, but learned most of what I know from peers, YouTube, and myself. I’m a performer, singer/songwriter, producer, and teacher. I taught private lessons for a few of my teachers and their family members when I was in high school. I’d say my personality is pretty goofy, but I like

I offer lessons in Guitar for all levels, having 5+ years of teaching experience and 12 in music education. I've taught children from 7 years old to adults 60+ from many different backgrounds, and my lessons are always structured the same way: To serve your needs, your goals and allow you to enjoy the process of learning.

I began playing when I was 11, and I find that for any beginner, it's important to start with material that gets instant "musical" sound from the guitar. This consists on learning the chords to your favorite songs, some easy riffs or melodies, and dicovering the path you want to take on the instrument. Once you get more advanced, technical aspects like music theory and how to use it creatively take a more important role in the lessons. For advanced players, I will find your strengths and weaknesses, and we will work on maintaining those strengths while slowly improving on the weaknesses, which may be technical, theoretical or even psychological. If you are more ...

"In more than 30 years of off and on guitar lessons, I've had a lot of teachers. Trevor is the best instructor I've met -- by far. In the first lesson, he figured out my skill level, interests, goals and probably my maximum capabilities. He sent me home that day with tangible and workable exercises (not the general and intangible stuff you usually get), and they worked. In two months, I've made more progress than I have in years.

Trevor has a wide range of musical interests, so it doesn't matter what kind of music you like - he can teach it. That's important if you don't know what you want or get bored and like to switch things up.

But the best thing about taking lessons from Trevor is that it is clear he likes teaching, and that he's very good at it. I surprised him once by bringing a 7 year old want to be guitarist to my lesson. A fast hour later, I left with the 7 year old knowing how to play a simplified version of his favorite song -- and he'd never played guitar before. Trevor knew how to teach him even though he had no warning or preparation, and he inspired the 7 year old to practice so he could go back for more lessons.

This city is full of great musicians and great teachers. It is rare to find one person, like Trevor, who is both. If you're reading this, then you're looking for a great guitar teacher who can make a difference in your playing. You can stop reading and stop looking. Trevor motivates, encourages and teaches, and makes it all fun. He's the teacher everyone is looking for. I wish I'd started lessons with him long ago."

"We are three lessons in so far with Kevin. He is working with my 15 year old on his electric guitar skills. So far, he has evaluated my son's skills, worked on bar chords, a couple of songs, and they changed the strings on the guitar. My son is enjoying the lessons and is very responsive to Kevin's teaching style. We are early in the lessons, but I am pleased with the overall progress."

"Eric is a highly intelligent musician. He is very patient and encouraging. Eric knows how to teach as well. He can get the point of the lesson across in a manner that is easily understood. I have had instructors before who were excellent musicians but just could not get the hang of teaching what they know. Eric also does not just "show you were to put your fingers". He teaches you "why you put your fingers where you do". His style of teaching is exactly what I was looking for. The fretboard makes so much more sense to me now. Rock on!"

"He has been teaching me for a while now. I have waited to post my review until I was confident on giving the correct review. I am an adult and I work, so I have limited time that I can allocate to practicing guitar. I really like his way of teaching because he is to the point, very efficient and knows where I am and what I need. He is able to measure the right amount of challenges for me to practice for next lesson. I manage a department and manage more than 40 people at my work and being so, I am very demanding when it comes to judging people. And I am very happy that I have him as my instructor. I believe he is able to guide me to develop my skills and knowledge efficiently. And on top of that, he is a great guy!! I strongly recommend him!"

Guitar Chord Charts: 11 Easy Tips to Read Fingering Charts on Acoustic Guitars

While it's true that you don't need to read music to play the guitar, you should learn how to read guitar chord charts. A guitar chord chart is a visual representation of a chord. This helpful visual is a little like music-by-numbers; it tells you which finger goes where and on what string, so in case you come across a chord you don't know, you'll be able to play it. Here's an example of a guitar chord chart, also known as a guitar chord diagram: Guitar chord charts are a cinch …
