Hello! I have been teaching privately for 4 years on both the violin and viola. Although my primary instrument is viola, I started on the violin at a young age and went through most intermediate music and into the advanced stages of repertoire. I teach through a traditional method, meaning I pull from many different resources to tailor each lesson to a student's needs.

About Kathryn

Hello! I teach both the viola and violin, with the viola being my primary instrument. Teaching music is my greatest passion. Ever since I picked up my first violin, I knew that playing music was going to be my career. I went to school to accrue the knowledge that I needed in order to teach those wh

Ahhhh....the seeet sound of the violin! I began teaching violin as part of a PTSA after school enrichment program. I taught for two years to high cap children from 2nd grade up to the 5th grade.

Our studies included theory, intonation, bow technique and rhythm.

I then began teaching privately to students and have enjoyed that for the last four years. I customize the lessons according to the student’s own apptitude.

I encourage participation in recitals to help build cinfidence and encourage personal growth. I do respect a students decline and we find other ways for self-confidence.

The best part of teaching is watching a student grow in their capabilities.

About Tudi

Tudi is a classically trained cellist and violinist and customizes lessons to meet the needs of each student. She teaches beginning to intermediate on both cello and violin for all ages. Tudi believes in providing a strong background of music theory, intonation, and aiding the student in music no

What's the difference between a violin and a fiddle? Some say it just depends on who is picking up the instrument . . . others might say a violin has strings while a fiddle has "strangs." But if you're looking to play a hoedown, a breakdown, a sweet and heartfelt waltz, or an old-timey reel, then you're looking for some FIDDLE lessons . . . and I am just the person to deliver! I've been a performing bluegrass fiddler since 2003 and have helped many students discover the joys and satisfaction of fiddling. See my profile under "fiddle" for more information.

About Julie

I've been performing as a fiddler in bluegrass bands since 2003, and have absolutely loved my own journey as a musician! A lifelong musician, I started on viola at age 9 and played in school orchestra through high school and on into college, even as I earned my degree in secondary English Education

Julie is absolutely wonderful! She’s extremely patient and very talented. I was only able to take fiddling lessons for a relatively short amount of time (less than a year) but I feel that I walked away with an excellent start. Can not recommend enough!
Jennifer
Julie is an amazing fiddle teacher! It is intimidating to take lessons as an adult and she made me feel very comfortable from day one. She is fun and has a laid-back, warm personality. I highly recommend her to anyone wanting to learn fiddle!

Julie is an amazing teacher! She tells you what you need to improve in a gentle way and is always enthusiastic about any progress you make, no matter how small.

I am from south america, I bring an international vision to music, I speak both English and Spanish, I began with suzuki method but shifted to european traditional violin training/school so I got to experience both sides and would love my students to do so as well.

I started my studies in Violin at age 8, with father, a music educator and a cellist. During my youth I served concert master of her city’s youth symphony (Batuta Bucaramanga). I looked after my father and wanted to be a teacher as well, so when I grew up, I went for a degree in Music Education in

Dr. Kim helped me build the foundation to my violin playing. As a young learner at 8 years old, he shaped my technique and provided me with the guidance that helped me become the violinist I am today. I studied with Dr. Kim for 10 years up until I went to college, where I am earning a degree in music. I can attribute this privilege to Dr. Kim for pushing me to grow and for teaching me so much during my early years.

Dr. Kim is a encyclopedia of Galamian based knowledge.

It’s been a long time since i first met Dr. Chin Kim, however, I clearly remember how his lesson was so scientifically approached and technically making sense in every details. Since then, I kept playing for him and got much ideas and much help from him which I still do time to time.
Although enough of his degrees, he constantly studies the music (I also have seen him taking a music theory class) and he is very diligent in self-enrichment.
Dr. Kim is very friendly to his students and he could be a good adviser not only in playing the violin but in elsewise, too.
I hope lots of musicians get a chance to meet him and play for him. I guarantee it’s worth much

I am currently offering violin lessons for anyone in any level! I want to share the joy of playing violin with students, whether it's your first go at it or if you're interested in honing skill sets or if you're working towards an audition or recital.

For beginners: We will start with the proper positions of how to hold the violin and bow. From here, we will expand into solidifying note reading, and note association with the violin. Depending on progress, I will then introduce short pieces.

For those who do not know how to read any music, I offer theory as well.

For intermediate: We will review proper violin and bow hold, go over scales, arpeggios and begin different violin positions and vibrato! Very exciting. I will discuss how best to practise, focus is essential for efficiency. We will cover a variety of short works.

For advanced players: Depending on your goals, this is flexible. Overall, an overview of correct technique, working on the expression of musical ideas, ...

I remember the first time I saw a violin and knew I wanted to take lessons. My first teacher lived just down the road from me, I loved my lessons, and couldn't wait to learn piece after piece. "At 60 plus I'm pretty set in my ways. But after 40 some years of not playing a violin I purchased a new one and found Nikita. He has worked with me trying to correct bad habits. Teaching proper handling, finger placement, notes, bow hold and care. Nikita works with children and the ELDERLY and everyone in between. His patience and passion for music is great. I highly recommend this person. He is not only a highly trained and gifted musician with many years of experience but also an excellent teacher. I value his skills and his friendship."
