Violin is my main instrument and primary focus in giving lessons. I have played the violin since I was a young child and think that the younger a child starts the better, although it is never too late to start! I employ many different methods when I teach the violin and will adjust to suit your needs and desires.

As a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music and the Colburn Conservatory, I look to pass on the great lessons and traditions of violin playing I've learned over the course of my career as a concert artist and pedagogue. We will work together to create a personalized curriculum, and progress at a pace that matches your comfort levels and your goals.

I've had the pleasure of teaching a regular private studio, and have given masterclasses nationally and internationally.

I love getting to know my students, and am very reachable outside of lesson times for questions, advice, and funny links! Please feel free to message me.

"Keiko is an amazing teacher!!! She's been teaching me for many years now, and it's been great! She's taught me ever since I was an absolute beginner. She's helped me win international violin competitions that gave me opportunities to perform in Carnegie Hall. She recently prepared me for an audition for a prestigious music school, which I got accepted into. Her lessons are fun and interesting, and very, very helpful.
Highly recommend!! \ (•◡•) /"

Elicia is an excellent instructor and was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. My daughter, who is 12, was nervous about the one on one sessions. She has only studied violin in a group setting, but Elicia really had a positive style and encouraged her throughout the lessons."

"Great violin instructor!

I am a college student at Azusa Pacific University, and Kan was suggested to me by one of her colleagues. At the time, I had just declared a music minor and was preparing to audition for my school's Symphony Orchestra. In my first lesson with her, I could tell that she knew exactly what my level of violin playing and experience was and started building me up from there (when I began lessons with Kan, I had been playing violin for about 8 years). Thanks to Kan's instruction, I was able to achieve my goal of getting into my school's Symphony Orchestra! Everyone I know has definitely seen growth and improvement in my playing, including myself. Kan is very friendly, caring, and always wants to see her students improve! Even after she received her Master's degree at APU, she continued to come to APU to give me a lesson!"
