While teaching bass is my specialty, I've been teaching guitar for 4 years and have amassed quite the collection. The overwhelming majority of my students at the shops I teach at take lessons on guitar, so most of my time is actually spent teaching guitar. In lessons, we'll cover basic chords, scales, and rhythms, as well as some introductory music theory so the student knows why they're playing what they play.
About Tommy
My name is Tommy. I've been playing bass and guitar since I was 11 years old. When I was in high school, I won my school's Duke Ellington Jazz Performance Award my junior year. Around this time I began to work at my neighborhood's local lesson shop Let's Play Music! off of W Broad Street in Falls C

David enjoys teaching students from all different backgrounds and levels of proficiency. Whether you are just starting out or a virtuoso shredder in the making, he is happy to teach you! Over all, he is fairly laid back, as long as you practice. He usually combines work with reading off of the treble clef (what he likens to "eating your vegetables." You may not want to do it, but it will make you a healthier musician!) with learning more popular songs (or songs the student says they would like to learn) through tablature and chord charts, depending on the style of the song.
David is also very pro music theory. He usually incorporates music theory into the curriculum in conjunction with the material already being discussed. He is also very knowledgeable about composition/songwriting, and if the student is interested in learning more about this area, he is happy to share what he knows!
About David
David is a successful singer/songwriter/guitarist out of Fairfax, VA. He has a bachelor's degree in Music with a concentration in composition from Salisbury University, where he also studied jazz and classical guitar . In the 25 years he has been performing (20 of those professionally) and playin

The most important thing to me is to keep the student interested and engaged in the lessons. This way learning guitar is easy and fun, not a struggle. A great place to start is by learning songs you enjoy listening to. Then later moving on, applying theory and scales to the songs we have learned.
About Sam
Hi! I'm a recent graduate of Berklee College of music where I majored in professional music. This included music theory and guitar instruction, as well as reading and writing music notation and charts in different styles. I also play frequently, including shows at The 9:30 Club, The Howard Theater

When I contacted the company they were very nice about it but I had to challenge their vetting process of teachers.

I teach students of all ages and ability levels how to play their favorite songs. Any style, any era. I don't believe in forcing someone to play music they wouldn't listen to. Music lessons should be fun, relaxing, with the ultimate goal of playing the music that the student enjoys!

I have been paying guitar/bass and performing live for over 8 years, and have 2 years of teaching experience. My strongest genres are blues, folk, and classic rock, but I can teach the basics of any genre, and will adapt my lessons to the goals of the student. I can help beginner/early-intermediate musicians develop their ear, learn to read music, develop good technique, and deepen their appreciation of the music they already love. Message me if you are interested!
About Christopher
I have been playing guitar and bass for over 8 years, and have been performing live for almost as long. I have played with a number of bands since high school and have been part of multiple recording projects. I recently recorded a few songs with some friends of mine that are in the mixing stage. H
