Yes I am a drummer but can also teach you how to get started on guitar! Starting with basic chord shapes, the 12 bar blues and scales!

About Nate
Greetings to my future music students,

My name is Nate! I'm a professional world touring and recording percussionist/drummer/musician. I started drumming at the age of 10 after seeing Animal from The Muppets battle Buddy Rich. I would practice everyday after school and was asked to join high school marching and Jazz band while still in middle school. By the age of 16 I was drumming with local Jazz and Rock bands at clubs and festivals. I also toured nationally with Drum and Bugle Corps Spirit of Atlanta while I was still in high school. After graduating high school, I started teaching while attending Saint Petersburg College for Music Performance. I have had the pleasure to have performed, toured internationally and recorded with many diverse bands from the year 2000 to 2016 (see Experience) In 2008-09, I performed with Austral
ia's renowned dance company Burn The Floor at Bush Gardens Tampa. I moved to LA in 2010 to further my skills at Musician's Institute PIT. I toured with LA based bands The Red Elvises and Street Drum Corps in 2011. That same year, I received a call from Revolutionary Rock Band Outernational to tour Nationally and Internationally headlining and supporting bands such as The Wailers, Flogging Molly, Las Manos de Filippi and Manu Chao. In 2012, I settled in NY to establish myself and my musical roots in between time touring and also taught at School Of Rock Manhattan as a sub. Over the years, I've helped many students learn how to read music, establish proper technique, coordination and time skills, and how to play some of their favorite songs from some of their favorite bands! I'm excited to help you meet your musical goals and help mold you into a well rounded musician and percussionist! My teaching style can be best described as focused, energetic and fun!

I have spent the past 12 years of my life dedicated to the guitar. While obtaining my Bachelor's degree in Guitar performance at Oberlin Conservatory I was employed by the conservatory's secondary lessons department. This studio featured a diverse mix of college students, adults, and children. In addition I am Suzuki method certified and I was a summer instructor at the Amherst School of Guitar in Buffalo, NY. I have experience working with children from as young as 5 to as old as 65.

About Lenny
Studying music has tremendous benefits including: discipline, self confidence, problem solving, and stronger connections in the brain! Understanding music can give you new perspectives on how to look at the world. If you have felt the power of music then you owe it to yourself to understand and harness what is already a part of you. OWN IT!

While studying with me we will work on many facets of music including technique, sight reading, critical listening, music theory, improvisation, and how to apply these skills to a piece of music to truly express yourself. My goal is to instill a deep understanding of music to my students while letting their individual sensibilities show.

STYLES: I can teach all styles of American music (i.e Rock, Blues, Country, Jazz, R&B etc.) as well as classical and fingerstyle.
I have a degree in classical
guitar and have performed with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra as well as done concerts in the USA, Italy, and the UK.
I have experience playing in many different bands in many styles including: Rock, Reggae, African, Blues, and Jazz groups.

SUZUKI METHOD: I am trained and certified in the Suzuki Guitar Method and spent 3 years teaching Suzuki in studio with children as young as 5. This involves a significant parent-teacher-student commitment and regularly yields impressive results.

ON TALENT: I agree with Shin-ichi Suzuki that talent is irrelevant and a myth. I believe that the potential of all my students are the same but they come to me with various starting skills levels and all learn at a very different pace. I believe that the myth of “talent” really just means that the individual has had a long exposure to music. This is why I emphasize critical listening in my lessons. If you have a large knowledge of music and sounds in your head it makes it easier to make connections and better assess your ideas.

Lenny was my daughter's first instructor for guitar, she had two years of piano - she was not as motivated with the piano instructor as with Lenny. He took his time with any questions she had, he was totally patient with her, he really has a understanding of music and is able to explain it in a way with minimal if no confusion. No matter what kind of day he may have had at school he remained absolutely consistent from week to week with how he taught during the lesson. His focus was where it should be, even when other family members needed to take my daughter he was undaunted yet caring. I would highly recommend this young man hands down. I told him personally through emails how thankful and blessed we were with him as a teacher. I have other children, older, and I have had them through various teachers with various instruments and Lenny is definitely a 5-Star.

I tailor my lessons to meet student goals. I help students learn basic chords and strumming patterns, learn to sing while playing, understand how to read notes, tabs and chord charts, understand power chords and basic music theory, play popular songs of the past or present, learn basic scales and improvisation skills, and even write their own songs! You can search my music on Spotify or iTunes for a sample of my style. My album is called "Songs from Pablo's Attic."

About Peter
I love sharing knowledge! Math has always been a passion for me, and I competed in several math competitions even in elementary school. Since then I have tutored many students in math from a fourth grade level to college math. I scored a 34 on the ACT and I enjoy helping others achieve their dreams by getting college scholarships. I lived in Italy for more than 2 years and have worked as an Italian teacher and tutor for 5 years. I have been playing guitar and making music for 19 years. You can check out my CD, "Songs from Pablo's Attic," on Spotify and iTunes. I am truly passionate about your success in becoming the best guitar player you choose to be! I like to teach with repetition (wax on wax off) and prefer to present the big picture first so that every obstacle may potentially never be an obstacle for you. I take years of teaching experience and what have been topics of frustration brought to me from students in the past... I try to smooth the road and teach you so you get the highest yield of success for your money with as little headaches as possible :) for example: I begin with bar chords not folk chords. I would LOVE to have the opportunity to explain "WHY" and show you how great you can be in WAY less time than a traditionalist guitar teacher would get you...

About Greg
Hey there! I am VERY excited to help you get to your best potential through lots of flight hours as quickly as you like! I hope you'll pick me to help you avoid common set backs in your progress. I look forward to helping you be your best on your instrument!

Greg is a cutting edge multi instrumental musician, accomplished on electric bass, upright pizzicato bass, electric and acoustic guitar, drums, and vocals.
