About Jonathan
I started my musical education in a children'€™s choir at age 6.
When I turned 8 years old, I began piano lessons. I started violin
at 9 and trombone at 10. After studying numerous instruments I am now proficient on the piano, electric/acoustic bass, and guitar. Having completed my tour of duty in the U.S. Army, I am currently on the Dean'€™s list as a music/audio production major, and plan to continue my music education until I earn at least a masters in performance and composition. I started my teaching career at Milestones in Music, a local studio, as an independent contractor, and was able to gain valuable experience, and through my membership in the National Association for Music Education(NAfME) I was able to fine tune my curriculum. I am a former student member of the Grammy U Recording Academy, and have had opportunities to
work with, and learn from a lot of different musicians. (The Recording Academy is the organization that created the most prestigious
award in music, the Grammy). I am the band leader at my church Montco Bible Fellowship. I have experience as an audio tech in the studio and for a live stage, and have consulted for organizations looking to setup a sound system/studio. I enjoy recording my own music in my home studio, and learning to play new instruments. I hope to pass my love for music to the next generation!

*** Lesson Details ***
I am a very laid back instructor... as you will find out! I understand that not everyone learns at the same rate; however, I am a perfectionist and don't allow students to advance until they have learned a particular skill. I would rather a student take forever to learn a song, and practice it with good technique, than be able to play it right away with poor form and posture! I reinforce the value of working toward goals and celebrate with students when they reach them.  I understand that every student has different interests and reasons for wanting to learn an instrument... I try to focus on the areas that are of interest to the student, because a student who is enjoying themself will excel.  This does not mean that the subjects and skills that are not of interest will not be taught, because I also believe in being a well-rounded musician. I teach both jazz (theory/improvisation) and classical (composed) music.

*** Studio Equipment ***
My studio is currently not optimal for teaching... I hope to change this soon!!

*** Travel Equipment ***
I provide lesson books and other learning materials, but expect to be reimbursed. I expect the student to have their own instrument/equipment. Piano students are required to have a piano or a keyboard with 88 weighted keys (hammer-action), a piano bench and a pedal. Guitar/bass students must have an acoustic/electric guitar/bass with a strap or footstool, pick, and cable and amplifier if applicable! Digital audio students must have their own computer, Digital Audio workstation (software), digital audio interface, speakers/headphones and midi controller. ALL STUDENTS MUST PROVIDE A NOTEBOOK (college rule or staff)!!

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in classical and jazz piano! I am more than proficient at most production software including: reason, fl studio, ableton live... and other editing software such as sony sound forge, audacity, etc...

I love to teach guitar because I feel it is an outlet for kids that may not always be interested in piano or voice. It's a beautiful instrument that you can play your entire life.

About Ruthie
My name is Ruthie and I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in May of 2007 with a Bachelors of Music Education degree with an emphasis in voice. Through my collegiate experiences, I had the privilege of participating in a Concert Choir, Barbershop/A Capella Ensembles, Vocal Jazz Ensembles and Performance in Solo Voice. The jazz program at UNC is one of the finest in the United States, and to be selected as a member of one of the vocal jazz ensembles was an honor in itself. From these experiences I have gained knowledge about the importance of vocal performance and music advocacy. I accepted a position as a general music teacher in Colorado in the fall of 2007 and then worked part time for a school in Laguna Niguel, CA until June of 2012. I recently moved from California to Minnesota and am trying to get my music student cli
entele established. I love to sing all different styles and I'd love to help you find your style and help discover your passions.

My passion for music started for me as a young child. I grew up in a musically inclined family, and was inspired and motivated by family members to use my gifts and talents to educate students about the world of music. My immense love for children, coupled with my educational experiences and my passion for music qualify me as a fun and exciting teacher.

I am huge lover of Barbershop/Sweet Adeline music and I recently competed in the International Young Women in Harmony Quartet Contest in Nashville, TN. My quartet, Vogue, won the competition. The Young Women in Harmony contest is for girls 25 years old and younger. I recently sang with a quartet called, Dolce. We competed in two International Competitions in Denver and Hawaii and placed 10th and 15th in the world. I was also a member of the International Gold Medalist Chorus, Harborlites, which is comprised of 180 female singers.

"Music isn't just learning notes and playing them, You learn notes to play to the music of your soul." - Katie Greenwood

*** Lesson Details ***
My lessons will be educational and fun. I want to find your passions and interests and from there I will create lesson plans to enhance your learning experience in your specified concentration. Voice lessons will start with vocal warm ups and exercises and then we will proceed to work on vocal techniques and preferred repertoire. During the lessons we will create goals and work on those goals so you become a successful musician.

I am a very patient and caring teacher and I am able to create the lessons to your style and needs. Music is fun and I want to make it that way for you!

*** Studio Equipment ***
I have a full keyboard.

*** Specialties ***
I studied music education in college with a vocal emphasis. I am classically trained but studied jazz as well. I also am a member of an internationally ranked barbershop chorus and quartet. I specialize in singing bass and lead in barbershop.

Rory, is a truly gifted guitarist with the perfect temperament for teaching anyone with the silliness to lear music. Every lesson I have with him is full of music theory and strong fundamentals needed to build a solid foundation for any starting guitarist. With in 3 months of weekly lessons I was able to read basic music notes, understand time, rhythm, and tempo by the end of 5 months. I am able to hear and understand music a lot deeper then I have before and can play a few songs. If you haver wanted to learn how to I highly recommend Rory as your teacher he’s the best there is.

Rory is an amazing instructor -- he is patient, informative, but most of all allows the instruction to be fun as well as educational. Rory allows the student to have some free reign about where the lessons will go -- never boring, and always moving towards an increased knowledge of the instrument and the music being learned.

Rory also happens to be one of the best guitar players in the business - with a talent that shines through in his work and instruction. I'd highly recommend Rory to anyone considering lessons -- he's even great with beginners!

The guitar is my primary instrument, and I've been playing for close to 20 years now. I've studied with some incredible teachers (Tomo Fujita, Pat Martino, Pat Metheny, Dave Fiuzcynski, Don Glanden, Kevin Hanson) who have taught some incredible students (like John Mayer, Eric Krasno, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and B.B. King), and I aim to pass down that same valuable information to my students. I teach all areas of guitar and I specialize in jazz and blues. As a student, I experienced several different music education curriculums, and I'm highly focused on adapting my teaching style to best suit each individual student. Unlike a lot of private teachers and music stores, I teach the essentials of whatever route students want to take, whether it be intense studying and preparation for music school auditions or just learning the basics and being able to play your favorite songs. If you have any questions about anything at all, feel free to get in touch with me.

About Pete
My name is Pete. I've been playing guitar for over 18 years. In 2011 I graduated from the Berklee College of Music in Boston with a degree in Professional Music. There, I spent several semesters studying with Tomo Fujita (former teacher of John Mayer and Eric Krasno). I've also been lucky enough to study with some incredible guitarists like Pat Metheny, Jonathan Kreisberg, Jack Pezanelli, and Gilad Hekselman. Stevie Ray Vaughan, Wes Montgomery, Dave Matthews, and Jimi Hendrix are responsible for inspiring me to play guitar and I specialize in teaching blues and jazz guitar, bass, ukulele, and piano. I firmly believe that every serious musician should study ear training and music theory and I incorporate these areas in my lessons as long as the student wants to study this way. I've performed with a bunch of great artists in the Boston and
Philadelphia area.
In 2011, I successfully obtained my master's degree in Jazz Studies from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. The master's program was an intense submersion in music performance that shaped me into the musician that I am today. I was lucky to study with Don Glanden, Mike Kennedy, and Kevin Hanson.
I am also well versed in computer recording software and DAWs. I teach students how to use software programs such as Logic and Reason as well as notation software like Sibelius and Finale. With some basic training in these programs, I can teach a student how to effectively record and produce professional quality recordings so that a student can write, record, and produce their own music.

*** Lesson Details ***
Because I've studied with some legendary teachers who have taught some legendary students (like John Mayer), I'm able to pass on to my students the same knowledge that these incredible teachers passed on to me. I guarantee that I will be unlike any guitar teacher that you've had before. Along with instrumental training, I offer extensive lessons in music theory and ear training. My family is full of educators and I've experienced the teacher-student relationship from a young age. I am fully committed to developing lesson plans based on the route that a student wants to take, whether it's just learning the basics and playing along to your favorite songs or engaging in serious study and preparing for college auditions. I am available to teach at any location within the Philadelphia area.

*** Stylistic Focus ***
I specialize in jazz and blues. At Berklee, I was able to take instrumental labs that spent an entire semester focusing on the playing style of certain guitarists. I've taken the Wes Montgomery lab, the Pat Martino lab, the Jimi Hendrix lab, the John Scofield lab, and the Stevie Ray Vaughan lab.

NOW is the time to take your playing to the Next Level. I can help you play your favorite songs on guitar!

I strive to make each lesson exciting and personable, which is something that you wouldn't find in trying to teach yourself by looking up information independently online.

Simply choose this plan and select the amount of time you would like to work with me weekly. I would suggest messaging me before you schedule, so that I can assure that your musical interests align with the genres I teach.

About Michael
Hello future guitar aficionados! Now is the time for you to unlock your potential and take your interest in the guitar to the next level. Whether it is for a future career, a hobby, or just to be able to play a song for your friends, I can develop a personalized plan to get you the results you desire.

I am currently a student at Cal State Fullerton and also a musician with performing and recording experience since the age of 14. My passion for music began ever since I had heard Dazed and Confused by Led Zeppelin on the radio. Since then, I have played in restaurants, weddings, bars and other venues all around Orange County and LA as a lead guitarist, rhythm guitarist, and bassist. The music that I specialize in playing are mostly acoustic, Pop, alternative rock, R&B, and classic rock. I like to song write and record my own music as wel
l and therefore have acquired a strong attention to detail and solid work ethic to achieve my desired results.

I believe in creating a positive and exciting work environment where we can have you develop at your own pace in a productive way. A great teacher is one that customizes their lesson to fit the student's individual needs while making the lesson educational and fun!

Being that I am one of the younger guitar teachers out there, I am able to better relate to younger students on a more personal level and possess an energetic teaching style and willingness to better myself as a teacher and musician just as much as my student.

I look forward to hearing from you and answering any questions you may have!

As a specialist in the theory, performance, and logistics of guitars and stringed instruments, it is of my best and most personal intention to pass on and pay forward my knowledge and experience to my students. By doing so share the opportunities to grow and achieve personal goals, achievements and aspirations in musicianship and guitar-works.

While I offer lessons in theory and technique, I also share the knowledge and experience of basic maintenance and repairs, in order for my students to be comfortable with not just the teacher, but also with their instrument.

About John
I started playing guitar from the time I was 11 years old and started getting paid for my first gigs with a band when I was 16. Shortly after that, I started teaching my first students when I was 17 years old. I was constantly busy, driving from school to peoples houses on weekdays while studying jazz guitar with an instructor, as well as with the paul green school of rock. On weekends I performed with paying gigs in live bands.

I have studied music and guitar at the Berklee College of Music in Boston Massachusets, and Music Therapy, Jazz Guitar, and Psychology at Montclair State University/Cali School of Music. I currently continue to further my education, and am learning every day.

From my education background, I have a certification in Master Luthiery from the Summit School of Guitar Building and repair.

Besides working as
a guitar teacher, technician, and performer, I have also worked as an open mic host.

I am currently 26 years old and still performing, teaching, and working as a technician and Luthier on a regular day to day basis.

When teaching, I like to tailor each lesson to that particular student. I take great care in planning and expanding each encounter for both the student's short term and long term development in both life and music. I aim to offer: Music theory and the application of such to the guitar. While most teachers either focus on theory, or learning and playing songs on an instrument, I find it important to be able to use, as an example, applicable theories such as scales and key signatures along with a foundation to the songs we will be learning. These songs can either be of my own or the student's choosing. Essentially, by approaching lessons with a rational knowledge of music along with a hands on experience of playing an instrument, I can create a fun and successful experience for any student.

I have been teaching students guitar for many years. My students will have a good foundation of music theory, playing by ear, and playing any songs they choose. I am not just a teacher but a coach, showing them how music can influence others and bring people together. I always bring my own guitar so when we learn songs, they are not doing it on their own. While they are learning a song, it will feel like they are playing in a band and will feel more confident to play on their own later.

About Tim
Music has been part of my life ever since I was young. I grew up watching my parents recording music in a studio. I started playing drums when I was 3 years old. I couldn't reach the pedal so I just used my hands but kept a beat. I later learned how to play guitar, trumpet, and then piano.

I am a pastor of a church and I lead a band every week. So I am playing guitar every week on Sundays, and leading the band through the music. I have taught music to children and adults and it's a pleasure to know I was part of their life in this way!

I love having a good time and always make lessons fun. Learn more about my student is very important to me. This lets me know what drives and motivates them. I coach my students to help them realize how beautiful it is that they want to learn music. Music can change lives! So I make sure they learn it wel
