Lee teaches acoustic guitar using a holistic and minimalist musical approach — you only learn what you really need to know. Students can learn on a steel-string acoustic guitar or a nylon string (classical) guitar.

No note-reading is required to learn chord progressions, song structure, and effective strumming and picking patterns for folk, blues and rock acoustic guitar.

Lee uses a combination of her own visual materials and chord grids, popular acoustic songs, and select acoustic guitar method books.

Lee has performed and recorded as a singer-songwriter-guitarist since 2001, including hundreds of performances in the New Orleans area, ten years of performances at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, and appearances at acoustic venues across the USA.

• Award-winning performing singer-songwriter
• Bachelor of Music Education from Loyola University, New Orleans (Instrumental Music)
• Master of Music from Belmont University, Nashville (Instrumental Pedagogy)
• Guitar Instructor for community college, high school and middle school
 • "Acoustic Intensive" instructor in acoustic guitar, music theory and songwriting for the National Guitar Workshop in New Orleans, Austin, Chicago, and Nashville

I’m just starting to learn and I’ve tried a couple other classes but it’s difficult to follow along with live lessons. Hers was slower and more detailed, showing the chords clearly- and talking about the timing was very helpful! She even took the time to answer my question about being unable to hold the strings correctly. Great teacher!

Lee is an exceptional instructor and excellent at helping us with Ukulele from beginner to experienced musician. She is also great with our young son with lots of patience yet a great touch teaching him over the internet. Her computer skills are good too running our lessons efficiently yet fun and lively!

Lee Quick has been an exceptional online bassoon instructor for our 15 year old from middle school into high school. We have had experience with face to face lessons with two other highly regarded private instructors and, in comparison, the online lessons with Lee have been consistently enjoyable and a highlight of the week for our daughter. Lee provided very helpful hints and tips for perfecting performances with the school orchestra the regional youth orchestra. Lee also helped our daughter sustain her interest and skill on the instrument by providing music and suggestions for exercises and continued development when she was not formally involved in any performance programs. Highly recommended.

I cannot recommend Lee enough! I'm a slow learner and she has made me feel like the complete opposite! She really knows her stuff and can break down every little part that you might not understand in the most patient of ways. And it's helpful that she's just lovely to be around! Really happy I found her!

My first lesson was great. My homework assignment makes sense and I am excited to learn. I have never played a stringed instrument before, and Lee is at once guiding and letting me explore on my own.

Lee has been teaching me to play an acoustic/electric bass. I have some of the lowest musical aptitude one could hope to find in a human being. With her kindness and patience she's worked thru my mental blocks and provided a lesson plan tailored for my aptitude level. With her experience as a writer, performer and instructor she's a wonderfully talented teacher. I recommend her highly.
