I am currently a member in the Pittsburgh Symphony, but I have played regularly with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the Philadelphia Orchestra, and I used to be a member of Chicago's Grant Park Orchestra and the Kansas City Symphony.
I graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, and I also attended the Cleveland Institute of Music.
Music has always been a huge part of my life, ever since I started playing violin when I was 2 years old, and I would love to share the joy of playing music with you!

I have been teaching the violin/fiddle to children and adults for 9 years. My speciality is in teaching young children and youth. I do teach methods that are appropriate to their level, whether they are beginners or have been playing for a while. I love teaching adult beginners as well, we all need a good start with a firm technique base for left and right areas (violin and bow) of playing the violin. I teach from the concept of Musicianship: warm ups to prevent injury, correct techniques for playing, and using theory books and violin method books that are creative and easy to follow and understand, both for children and adults. I teach note-reading as well as aural learning because a student, young or older, needs both music notation and ear training to gain the best possible perspective on learning this instrument and having fun. As a teacher, I love being creative in lessons, it's very important and helps the student to assimilate the techniques and pieces so they can move ...

i've been playing music all my life but since i'm a square parent, it's hard for me to teach drew :) Cristina does a great job giving her guidance during the lesson.
i would highly recommend her as a teacher!"

My violin background was a little questionable beforehand (primarily self-taught via YouTube), but having someone as talented and encouraging as Concetta tailoring a lesson plan specifically for me has already exponentially improved my technique. Your search for a teacher ends here. Five stars. :)"
Kelvin is a great teacher. He has a hands-on teaching style integrated with little bits of music theory. Also, he gives you constructive criticism on your originals that doesn't insult your artistic style, but rather works with it. When I first found Kelvin, I told him I wanted to learn an array of instruments so I can understand the workings of a orchestra before I assemble one of my own, and he was in full support of it! Over the course of several lessons, we've listened to several CDs and analyzed the arrangements listening for the entrance of different instruments that add complexity and depth to the music. Kelvin is the ideal teacher for learning the general concepts behind building a song, and learning specifics within songwriting. Assuming you dedicate enough time to your music between lessons, Taking lessons with Kelvin has been the best investment yet on my musical journey."
