Hello to each of you! My name is Corey, and I have been teaching for 31 years. My primary professional instrument is cello, but started on violin at the age of 7. As I progressed as a child I played violin in the school orchestra setting, and cello outside of the school systems. Like many of you I've been locked up in my home because of Covid19. What fun! Not really... but I have been enjoying teaching 24 of my current private students. Additionally, I have been teaching music at a Waldorf School in Portland Oregon for 22 years. My work at the school has decreased because of the crisis and now I've been moved to 1/2 time. I'm so excited to expand my teaching studio, and have the opportunity to meet you. I teach beginning and intermediate violin students. I studied violin at the Community Music Center in Portland, OR. My degree is BM in cello performance from Portland State University 1993, and I have studied (and/or had master classes) with Stephanie McDougal, Hamilton Cheifetz, Yo

When I was 20, I thought I should teach the violin. I like this instrument, and I want to share it with more people. Many people think it is not easy to learn, it doesn't start well, and it even pulls my neck. I think I wanted to tell everyone that this is an instrument that's so easy to play and doesn't cause any discomfort and hurt. So I spent many years studying to explore and think about how to teach it the easiest way, especially For beginners, how can they continue to practice. I think that through years of teaching and thinking, I have mastered some good ideas.

Want to learn violin? My students have unique lessons tailored to their needs and own personal goals. Basic skills and advanced techniques are taught alongside music interpretation and expression, as well as basic music history, music theory, and other tools necessary to make informed performance decisions. Hi, my name is Gabriel and I'm a violinist currently serving as Assistant Concertmaster of the Annapolis Symphony, Principal Violin II of the York Symphony, and a section violinist in the Harrisburg Symphony. In addition to extensive orchestral experience, I am looking forward to performing as soloist in an upcoming concert with the York Symphony, and I have given numerous chamber music performances and other small recitals.

My musical education was completed at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, where I received three music performance degrees: BM, MM, and GPD. I was awarded top merit scholarships for all of my studies there, and I received the first prize in the undergraduate violin competition.
