I can teach guitar techniques from beginner all the way up to advanced techniques.

About Joel
There are some restrictions based on the maturity of the child and the goals of the lessons. Kids under 13-14 years of age are not very focused on practicing or conceptual musical ideas. If we are just teaching and reinforcing basic things and exposing the child to music, it's a great time to teach them. Otherwise I could be wasting your money.

Let me help you learn the guitar in an easy to comprehend and faster than you could imagine study. You will learn to play a simple strumming and chordal pattern of a song that you choose to learn with in the first 2 lessons. My goal is to customize your lessons to your learning style and musical preferences. I've played guitar for over 30 years in the studio and touring all over the US, Mexico, and Central America. I can teach you how to play with seemingly effortless technique, Understanding strumming and fingerpicking patterns, how to create unforgettable guitar parts, how to improvise solos, how to make your guitar sing, and bring thunderous energy into your playing venues! I look forward to speaking with you soon

About Shon
My Name is Shon M.

I was raised in a family that has a tradition of passing the art of music down from generation to generation. I began playing at age 5 and I play 5 instruments professionally and 15 instruments in all. I studied music at Morehead State University and Musician’s Institute. I've been a touring and studio musician since the age of 16. I have been teaching music for more than 35 years. Many of my alumni have gone on to become professional musicians and teachers themselves. My approach to music education is somewhat unique, although it is gaining popularity in the mainstream of music education. I view music more like a language, as opposed to what some have called more of a data entry approach. Don't get me wrong, reading music is important and I do it everyday, but your music lessons should be teaching you how to play a
n instrument, not spending the majority of your time in learning to read right out of the gate. Yes there basics you must learn, but when you were a child, you didn't learn to read as you spoke your first words. You were learning to speak your language long before your learned your ABC's. There are many musicians with little formal training who play an instrument so well you'd swear you can see smoke coming from their fingers. Let me tell you, they weren't born that way. They learned to speak the language of music. The fact is, it's so much easier to learn to read music, after you have a basic understanding of how to speak the language. So say good bye to the frustrations of banging you head against the wall with the complexities of reading music and wondering how much longer you're going to have to endure this ongoing torture before you learn to play something cool, and say hello to having fun while learning how to play an instrument and the songs and styles you want to play...

You may have studied music before and given up because it was too difficult. Please know that's not uncommon. But I’m here to tell you, there is a better way! So if you've ever wanted to learn to play an instrument or sing, there is no better time than now.

Shon is a gifted multi-instrumentalist. Who has toured with Janet Jackson and Bruce Springsteen and many other artists. That combined with countless hours of studio recordings in L.A. Studios as a bassist, and countless other studios around the country. Shon is the consummate professional. Not only does he bring years of real world experience to everything he does, but he is also personable and great to work with on a project or a live performance. He's studied with Abraham Laborel, John Pattucci, Victor Wooten, and even has a bass given to him by the man who assisted in creating "the pocket" in Toto the late Mike Porcaro. He is a close friend and I am consistently inspired when I get to play music with my brother. You won't be disappointed. An investment worthwhile.

A true "musician's musician," any student at any level will find great benefit from Shon's instruction, be it in guitar/bass (and other plucked instruments), piano/keyboards, drums, theory and composition or arranging. Professional musician with 14 years of playing and 4 years of teaching experience, specializing in acoustic guitar and songwriting. I have a degree from Berklee College of Music in guitar performance and songwriting, and base my lesson material off the same coursework I learned in college.

All ages welcome, beginner and intermediate. If you're interested in writing your own songs, learning your favorite songs, or diving into the theory behind guitar playing and composition, I will help you achieve your music goals in a focused and friendly setting.

About Asher
I am a professional singer/songwriter and guitarist with a degree from Berklee College of Music. I have been performing throughout the country, particularly in the Midwest and East Coast, as an original singer/songwriter, and wedding and private event musician since 2013. My original material has received national media attention, including a feature on Iowa Public Radio, and has been featured as the #1 singer/songwriter on ReverbNation.

In the evenings, I have a full schedule of private events and weddings. During the day, I enjoy sharing what I know with students of all ages and backgrounds. My passion is music, and I would love the chance to help you learn and fall in love with playing music as well.

During the first lesson, I like to talk with you about your goals and how you learn best. I always tailor my lessons to the needs
of the individual student, and believe it is my responsibility as a teacher to make learning fun and engaging for the student.

I have several options of standard coursework we can follow if a weekly plan is best. Otherwise, I enjoy following the student's lead and spending our time together on what you would like to work on.

If you are looking for a teacher who will inspire you to reach your best potential as a musician, who will make learning a fun and rewarding experience, please reach out to me and let's start playing.

Learning how to play guitar is a fantastic instrument to begin with, as it is applicable to most other sorts of instruments you might play in public school bands and orchestras, or all the other instruments you'll play in you first rock band! You will learn your basic and intermediate music theory, how to train your ears to listen carefully, and most of all, how to have as much fun as anyone can playing music! All at your own pace with great patience! As I'm pursuing my music education major at university, we will both learn new things together, and both improve together!

About Allister
I'm currently a music education major at the University of Central Oklahoma. My main instrument is trombone, but I have been playing guitar for over a decade, as well as other brass instruments such as trumpet and tuba. I perform for our top jazz ensembles, having performed in cities such as St. Louis, Greely, Colorado, and even around Oklahoma City for both middle and high schools. In a couple years I plan on being a band director for public school, as I want to send my passion for music down to younger kids. With one on one sessions with younger kids, not only will I gain experience for my career in the future, but my students will gain great experience for their beginner and high school bands that they too can even pass down to their friends they play along with!
