My students range from children (8+ up) to adults to senior citizens. Whether you are brand new to playing the guitar or just want to brush up on the basics, you have found the right place. My objective is simple: Let's have fun!

I am flexible in my teaching style. If you want a more formal approach, I can teach you how to read music and play melodies & chords of some of your favorite songs. If formal is not your thing and you just want to learn to improvise, we can go there also.

I've been teaching guitar almost my entire adult life. Started in 1978 in my parents house and after that a couple of music stores. I'm now teaching in my home studio.

My teaching goals and curriculum will depend on the ability of the student and their knowledge of the instrument. It doesn't matter if they are at the beginner, intermediate or advance level, I have experience teaching all levels.

Most students want to learn how to play songs. I focus a great deal on learning how to use the proper technique to play all the chords needed to play the songs they would like to learn. If you want to learn how to read music and or play lead guitar I can teach that too.
I'm a professional guitarist and singer. I've been performing in bands none stop for over 30 years and I'm still performing on weekends with my two bands'. I teach practical guitar lessons that can be applied to building up for performance with a band or as a solo artist.
I'm also a song writer and piano player. ...

I've found Keith to be professional, good communicator and a great teacher for our 8 year old. He has patience and a real love for music and it shows. He is our first instructor so I don't have anything to compare him with but I do know people and feel great working with him. I forgot to mention, he has a little studio in his basement perfect for lessons.
I hope this helps anyone . Thx.

Keith was very patient and considerate of my very beginners status.

I am a skilled and compassionate teacher with decades of experience working with both children and adults, crafting lessons to fit your personal musical goals. My teaching focus for beginner guitar is to get chords into your hands so you can begin to play songs as quickly as possible. You will learn some music theory as we go, that will help make sense of what you are learning and why. Mostly the lessons are created to be fun, rewarding and to prepare you to play music quickly and well. For intermediate students, I offer 30-plus years of guitar playing experience and many years of recording, performing and teaching the guitar to a wide range of players with the intention to add interest and uniqueness to your sound as a guitarist. Right hand techniques, how to "change it up" so the songs you play don't all sound the same.

I also teach songwriting, voice and performance so we can create combo lessons that meet your specific musical goals.

About Sharon

If you are looking for a compassionate and skilled teacher for guitar and voice students of all ages, you have come to the right place. I am a singer-songwriter, teacher, guitarist, seminar leader, writer and a mom of two amazing sons. I absolutely love children, teaching and music. I also love put

John is very patient and knowledgeable. You can tell that he's been teaching for a very long time. I'm self-taught and have been playing for over 20 years and within minutes of viewing me play, John was able to pick out immediately my flaws. He gives me homework every week, and gives me a hard time if I do not do it. Exactly what I look for in a teacher.

"He was one of my mentors during the beginning of my guitar journey. Always passionate about everything he taught me from theory to chords to simple riffs and singing. Very patient and was always willing to help me towards becoming the guitar player I am today. I would not be who I am today without him guiding me to be a great guitar player. Thank you."

"Tim did a great job of explaining the lessons and provided valuable information about reading music. Unfortunately, at the time I started, I also had a newborn making it very hard to stay on track with practicing. Now that my daughter is older, I have more time to practice, and look forward to taking lessons soon."

"I've been taking lessons with Raymond for a few years now and plan to keep taking them for as long as I can! Each lesson is a great experience because I learn so much. Even if I play the same piece for a few weeks, Raymond shows me a new detail, technique, or perspective related to it so I'm always stimulated and inspired to try to practice and improve. For Raymond, music is a way of life, and he expresses all of the dedication and artistry that that fact entails. I'm always in a better mood after lessons. And so glad that I decided to try lessons with Raymond!"

"Hi, I've been studying electric mandolin and guitar with Andrew for some time. He is so kind and enthusiastic, and really understands how to teach me at my level. He has been teaching me the deep theory behind improvisation in bluegrass, newgrass, rock, folk...and has an incredible mind full of music, riffs, scales, and chords from all genres. I've gone back and forth from guitar to mando with him, translating the same information onto the different fretboard, building my knowledge and appreciation of music, and I can now improvise confidently while playing out!"

"Poh Hock is a well-rounded and versatile teacher. He is capable in many styles of playing and has a powerful understanding of music theory to reinforce his teaching. He is very patient and relaxed; I never feel stressed preparing for or during lessons. He is able to tailor his lessons more around exercises or learning songs depending on the wants and needs of the students. I've been taking music lessons in different instruments for 10+ years; learning with Poh Hock has singularly been the most positive and productive experience in that time."
