First lesson for my 11 year old son with Christina. She has a very nice studio that my son was very comfortable in. She identified his level and sent him home with much more difficult pieces than his previous teachers. He has been practicing more because it is more difficult but also he seems to enjoy the challenge which she created for him. Thanks Christina, I am looking forward to watching him progress under your guidance.

Such a wonderful teacher ! Christina is kind and so patient with kids who are learning music. She is so smart and her knowledge in music is amazing. My daughter has progressed significantly in the last few months with Christina , at a much better pace than all her previous years learning with other tutors. She is training my daughter for ABRSM exam too . Christina has great communication skills and always lets us know the ways to help kids learn better. Her positivity and graceful presence has made my daughters passion for music increase immensely !! Great teacher !!! Highly recommended!!

I have been taking lessons with Ashlyn for about 7 months now and she has truly been the best violin teacher I could have hoped for! She is not only good at teaching and helping me improve my playing, but she is also a really nice person and we get along very well. I look forward to every lesson and always learn a lot and have fun. Unfortunately, I leave for college soon so I will no longer be able to take lessons with Ashlyn, I will miss her a lot.

I've taught people who were just beginning violin (both children and adults) to students who were working on major concertos. What is most important to me as a teacher is building a strong foundation from which it is possible to branch out and connect emotionally with the music they play. I also strive to make performers out of violinists and to help them engage both audiences and themselves.

About Ha-eun

I have been surrounded by music my whole life and have played violin for 20 years. I went to high school at the Interlochen Arts Academy, obtained a BM in violin performance at Oberlin Conservatory and an MM at the Boston Conservatory. I have won competitions, played in professional orchestras, per

Ha-eun has been an amazing violin teacher. I played violin for several years throughout my childhood and then stopped playing for about 10 years before deciding I wanted to learn again. Having not played for so long, I wasn't really sure what I remembered or what my skill level was at.

Ha-eun has done a great job evaluating me and picking pieces that are challenging but still do-able. She is really friendly and encouraging and has made re-learning the violin an enjoyable experience.

For personal reasons, I have to take a break from violin for a little but when I re-start lessons, I will definitely pick Ha-eun as my teacher again if she is still taking students at that time!

She really knows her stuff when it comes to music and I would recommend her to anyone wanting to learn violin.
Miriam
I was exited to start my first lesson and it was great! Ha-eun welcomed me warmly and I think learning with her will be successfull and wonderful at the same time. Looking forward to my next lesson!

I have studied violin for 20+ years, and I love working with beginner students of all ages. While I was trained classically, I work professionally playing for Broadway musical theater, and was most recently The Fiddler in the Drama-Desk winning revival of The Fiddler on the Roof Off-Broadway. I have played a range of genres in my professional career, such as musical theater, bluegrass, and pop. For my young learners, I begin with the Violin Fun books and the Suzuki method, and incorporate music theory and scales into each lesson. No matter the age of my students, I keep lessons interesting by introducing students to a range of genres, and I always make sure to incorporate songs you've always wanted to learn!

About Lauren

I'm a Broadway performer in NYC, and have played such roles as the Fiddler in the hit off-Broadway revival of The Fiddler on the Roof, directed by Oscar and Tony award winner Joel Grey (2019 Drama Desk Winner Best Musical Revival) and Reza in the national tour of Once (Tony winner best musical). I

I got to take lessons with Tammy in my freshman year of college and it was a great experience! She was so nice and patient with me when I couldn't get things right and would really look at things that weren't working and try to figure out exactly what wasn't working so that we can fix it.

I had the pleasure of taking lessons from Tammy during my sophomore year of college when I studied violin performance at the University of Michigan. She is an *incredible* musician and I was always blown away when I heard her play. Whenever I brought challenging music to her, she simplified them for me and showed me how to best practice them. She brought me to a new level of technique and understanding of music.

I highly recommend Tammy as a teacher. She is so patient, fun, and down to earth.

"I had the opportunity to take violin lessons from Dr. Geronimo Oyenard for about three years. Dr. Oyenard is an amazing teacher with advanced knowledge of music, particularly violin. He is a patient, kind, knowledgeable, and punctual teacher who is always available and patiently improves his students' learning objectives.

In my case, I wanted to learn classical Persian music. Dr. Oyenard was skilled and patient enough to help me do so. During the years that I was Dr. Oyenard's student, I learned more about violin and performance than ever before.

Dr. Oyenard is an outstanding virtuoso and a thorough resource for any scholar of music and violin."

"We have been taking lessons with Merav for about 8 months. Merav is a great teacher - she balances positive feedback with pushing her a little harder. She doesn't teach strictly to the Suzuki method, which I think has been a benefit to our daughter who is more of a free thinker. She looks forward to her lessons each week, which I think is a good indication. Merav is also flexible on timing, which has been helpful."

"Betsy has been my daughters coach for about a year now, and she is wonderful. My daughter has learned so much in the past year, and now she's interested in singing, thanks to Betsy. Betsy has a wonderful spirit, she knows how to communicate on their level, and she makes them feel as though they can do anything. I also like her because she encourages kids to follow their dreams, and to do the right things, and we all know that it takes a village to raise a child. I would highly recommend Betsy!"

"Before taking lessons from Steven I didn't know it was possible to enjoy practicing my violin. I enjoyed all my rehearsals and quartets of course, but when it came time to practice at home alone I lost all motivation. Steven opened my eyes to what it really meant and feels to be a musician, and in doing so I went from the back of the second violin section in the orchestra to the first few stands of the first violin section. Even other instructors and students at my music school noticed my improvement in technique and skill. Aside from becoming a much better violin player, Steven also helped me recognize my own potential and encouraged me to work hard; to believe in myself. Having Steven as my teacher was the best decision I've made throughout my musical career."

"Tania has been a great teacher for my son. He started learning violin with the Suzuki method and studied with a Suzuki teacher for about four years before stopping lessons. He became interested in violin again in middle school and decided he wanted to take private lessons while in 7th grade. Tania had no trouble getting him back on track, picking up with some Book 2 pieces and moving on to Book 3. She has helped him with his bowing, vibrato and shifting, and his sound has really improved. She also has helped him learn to read better and has introduced some basic music theory into lessons. My son really likes his lessons, and feels that he is learning what he needs. Overall, I like her approach, which I think works very well for this level. She is an excellent musician, and this comes through in her teaching."

"This year is my 9-year old granddaughter's first step in learning how to play a musical instrument and she chose the violin. We knew that music lessons would be essential to her learning to appreciate her violin. I searched the internet and reviewed several teaching sites before I discovered Elisa's site. After reading about Elisa's experience along with few reviews, I decided to sign Lia up. I found Elisa to be very caring, personable, skilled and professional. My granddaughter is very excited and very happy that she has Elisa for her violin teacher. I highly recommend Elisa!"
