Have you been playing for a long time, or have you never picked up the instrument before? Whether you are a child or an adult, I have a style of teaching for you. I've been playing since I was a child and have a special place in my heart for the is instrument. I actually began learning from a fiddle player and trained classically later. If you want to learn how to succeed in playing this rewarding and satisfying style, this is the place for you.
Are wondering why every time you hit a certain note, it squeaks, or crunches, or sounds glassy? Or maybe you can't quite read the notes. Perhaps you are no stranger to the instrument, but need improvement of musicianship, expression, etc. Let me help you master the skills you're trying to achieve. With my help, you can make breathtaking music!

About Kimberly

I grew up in a household of 9 where music was always center stage. We would sing as a family in different venues and were often called the VonTrapp family. I have enjoyed singing and performing from a young age. I began studying flute at age 8, after scoring highest in the harmony listening exam and began formal violin lessons at the age of 9. I studied all genres including, fiddle, classical, musical theater and 20th century. I have continued to study violin since then and have performed in many orchestras and small groups, such as Honor Orchestra, the Paradise Symphony, the Yuba College Orchestra, Yuba-Sutter Oratorio Society Orchestra and more. I have been concert master and first stand in many of these. I have also soloed in many and have been the first violinist in quartets for countless weddings and other events. I have also played

in numerous pit orchestras for musicals.
I have been in choirs and soloing since I can remember. I have performed and soloed in choirs such as the Yuba-Sutter Oratorio Society, CSUS Chamber Choir, the CSUS Women's Choir and more. I have toured to Victoria, Montreal, Ottowa, Oregon and Washington. I have also been in opera productions such as The Magic Flute, Peleas and Melisande and Die Fledermaus (The Bat) with CSUS Opera. I am a recent recipient of the Saturday Club Scholarship, a prestigious award, and have won many competitions (some repeatedly) both vocally and with violin, such as the Tri-County Competition, Young Artist Competitions, and the California Soloist and Ensemble Competitions. Additionally, I have performed musical theater repertoire and have performed as lead in musicals such as Beauty and the Beast and Into the Woods. I have also soloed repeatedly with the Yuba College jazz band and at churches all around.
I have earned my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from CSU Sacramento. I have my Associates Degrees in both Music and Early Childhood Education from Yuba College. Additionally, I have obtained my certificate of completion of training from Music Together, an organization which trains teachers to teach Basic Music Competence (both in tonality and meter), and am currently teaching this curriculum.
I have been teaching music privately for over ten years to all ages, genders and abilities. Additionally, I have taught ages 0-5 years in a preschool setting for 7 years and am extremely familiar with developmentally appropriate practices for both preschool and school age, as I am a site supervisor at a child development center with a preschool and after school program. I have had many adult students as well and encourage adults to enrich their lives with music at any age! Additionally, I have experience teaching parent child classes and am familiar with how to teach to the particular needs of each family and student.
I'm extremely excited and looking forward to growing as a professional, both teaching and performing, in both the areas of violin and voice and to be instrumental in your musical growth too; I can't wait to share my passion with you and to ignite your passion for music too!

I have been teaching since 2002 and have loved every minute of it! I teach all ages. I tailor my style of teaching to each student's goals and to what works for you. If you want to learn Taylor Swift music, I won't be giving you arias. On the other hand, if you wish to study classically, I have repertoire appropriate for you. I teach fiddle, classical, orchestral, 20th century and more for violin students and have experience with jazz, classical, musical theater, pop, religious, spiritual, choral, 20th century and more vocally.
For violin students, I use the Suzuki method as a pushing off point, a tried and true method used in many countries across the world, though I have other repertoire including fiddle, orchestra, small ensemble, solo, concertos, Christmas, and more. For vocalist, I start with the book, Adventures in Singing. I also have warm ups and exercises to keep you vocally healthy. I will teach you anything you want to learn! I also teach how to read music, theory and harmony, depending on your interest and tailored to your current skill level.
I am encouraging and knowledgeable. I will meet you at your current level, be that beginner, intermediate, or advanced. My students can look forward to being encouraged and growing through their time with me. I don't have preset ideas about where you should be in 3-6 months, nor do I have a one size fits all teaching style. Instead, I will work with you individually so that you will become the best musician you can be, meet your goals, and increase your enjoyment and appreciation for music.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Lessons in open space, upright piano, digital piano, music stands, metronome, violins available for rent, music, staff paper and computer

*** Travel Equipment ***
I expect my students to provide the instrument with all of it's accessories (ie shoulder rest, rosin, bow and case) along with the appropriate level Suzuki book. I have instruments available for rent. My voice students should bring their own music also. I have a piano in my studio along with music stands. Of course, every student must have a pencil and come ready to have fun learning! :)

*** Specialties ***
Suzuki, solfege, art songs and arias, reading music, fiddle, classical, healthy vocal technique and musical theater. I am very good at working with any age.

I have been working with Kim for a few weeks and I have learned a tremendous amount and can hear the difference every week as I progress. I enjoy the process she applies to keep it positive and fun yet learn the proper fundamentals required to perform well. I actually tried a few vocal teachers and Kim with her wisdom and experience made it simple who to go with!!

Kim can teach you or your child, no matter where you are!

I was 30 when I decided to rekindle my love for the violin. I hadn’t played since before YouTube was invented, and I was skeptical about learning violin online. By the first lesson, Kim had already corrected poor habits I didn’t know I had, just after hearing me play a few scales. She adjusted her teaching style to my personality so seamlessly that I felt I was just getting pointers from a dear violinist friend whose advice is always spot-on. Weekly practice never felt like work, because Kim tailored my assignments to my goals. Before I knew it, I was playing complex concertos I could never do in high school. I started out being able to play just one major scale. Within 10 months, I was in Suzuki Book 4!
I can’t say enough about Kim’s expert teaching skills. During a sight-reading of a very difficult piece, I became so frustrated that I wanted to stop the lesson and try again later. Kim encouraged me until I had gotten all the way through, and pointed out what I could learn from my performance. When I had time to calm down, I realized that Kim can do this for any student; adults, children, and adults whose inner child throws a tantrum when they’re frustrated by a musical challenge. :-)

Teachers like Kim are rare, and worth their weight in gold. I learned so much more than violin fundamentals through my lessons with her. I’m convinced Kim can teach anyone, of any age—even through an online platform.

Each lesson will be taught in response to current needs of a student but the following are the parts that make up an entire lesson:
- Technique
- Theory
- Music
- Practice
All together are basic fundamentals.

My job as a teacher is to help you find a place for music in your daily life and to make a practice time more of an experimental discovery play, than boring work. Once you find a key, it opens up a whole new world of communication.

As a private violin instructor, I believe that education is impossible without student’s motivation and passion. Perhaps you have decided to become a professional musician or maybe you want to play for your own enjoyment... Whatever your goals are, I can lead you there! Let's make it happen together because it is never late to follow a dream!

I recommend younger children travel to me for the best learning experience.

Zhana is such a kind, thoughtful, and patient instructor! Our lessons give me the perfect balance of structure and fundamentals, along with playfulness and exploration. She is able to make the connection between the technical aspects of the basics and the musicality of a piece. Zhana regularly plays with me during our lessons, which has really helped me hear my intonation and what correction is needed. She is very understanding of the fact that I am an adult learner and do not always have the opportunity to practice as much as I like, but at the same time she is constantly encouraging me to learn more and improve my technical abilities. I would highly, highly recommend Zhana as a teacher for anyone looking for a new teacher!

I started playing the violin at age 9, studying classical violin and started performing not long after. I started teaching my first student at the age of 16 - I have been teaching violin to students of all ages for 13 years.

I completed all the ABRSM exams and earned an ATCL diploma from Trinity College in Classical Violin Performance.

In 2013, I moved to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music, where I studied Jazz, bluegrass, gypsy jazz and middle eastern violin.
I presently play both classical and electric violin, performing locally and internationally in bands and in a trio/quartet setting.

About Claire

2 decades of playing experience, I studied classical violin growing up and began teaching my first student at the age of 16 - I have been teaching violin to students of all ages for over 10 years of all levels and styles.

I completed all the ABRSM exams and earned an ATCL diploma from Trinity College in Classical Violin Performance.

I perform both classical and electric violin, occasionally solo, but more commonly in rock bands, quartets, orchestras and recording sessions all across Asia and America. I am able to perform and teach in varying styles and genres.

In 2013, I moved to Boston to attend Berklee College of Music, where I studied Jazz, bluegrass, gypsy jazz and middle eastern violin.

A multi-instrumentalist, I also play and teach the electric guitar, acoustic guitar and piano.

I also produce and engineer music, recording in

dependent artists and bands based out of Boston.

I presently write and perform in two bands, an indie rock project called Paper Citizen and pop/HipHop group called Mad Yonder.

I teach privately in my studio in Palms, as well as at a music studio in West LA. I also travel to student’s homes.

I love playing music and I always hope to inspire a similar level of interest and enthusiasm with my students by exploring different styles of music - through a combination of learning songs, improvisation/creation and technique.

I work hard to help you achieve your goals and most importantly, get you playing with confidence!

I believe in a friendly, comfortable atmosphere between teacher and student that promotes the optimal mindset for the student to progress, and to believe in themself.

Technique-wise, there will be lots of work on intonation, tone production, and accuracy of rhythms!

Musically, I like to ask the student for their own ideas, and offer my input afterwards. Music is an expressive art, and the teacher's job is to help the student best express themselves.

I tend to let students play everything that they have practiced for me before making comments. Using my tablet, I notate all ideas and corrections on a pdf version of your music, and email the pdf to you after the lesson.

About Josiah

I am currently a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate at the University of Oklahoma, where I am on fellowship as a violinist in the resident graduate string quartet, the Crouse Quartet. In addition, I serve as co-concertmaster of the University of Oklahoma Symphony Orchestra. Regarding the teaching sphere, I am a studio Teaching Assistant for Dr. Gregory Lee at OU, and I also teach MUNM (Music For Non-Majors) courses at the university.

Previously, I earned a Performer's Certificate at the University of Wyoming, where I served as concertmaster of the UW Symphony Orchestra and the UW Chamber Orchestra.

I have advanced to the national finals in the MTNA Young Artist solo competition twice, and been guest soloist with the Northwest College Symphony Orchestra. During my time in Wyoming, I performed in the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra and the

Wyoming Symphony Orchestra as a fully contracted section violin, and in the Fort Collins Symphony Orchestra as an alternate violin.

For four years, I taught for the University of Wyoming String Project, where I served as a private violin and viola teacher to elementary, middle, and high school students in the Laramie, Wyoming school system. Currently, I serve as both a beginning/intermediate orchestra conductor and a private teacher mentor for the Sooner String Project at OU. My students have won leadership positions in their school and string project orchestras, as well as the distinction of All-State Orchestra.

I love teaching adults because we can build up meaningful relationships and have intriguing conversations through music! I am fully equipped to teach from absolute beginners to semi-professionals who had chosen a non-music career path. Let's work together to achieve your goal, and make beautiful music.

About Keiko

I served as a violinist of the Attacca Quartet, a NY-based string quartet that performs all over the world from 2005 to 2019. In addition to concertizing, I teach students of all levels wherever I go; I have given lessons, masterclasses and lectures in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Peru, Ireland, Australia, Japan, UAE... good thing we all speak the universal language of humanity: music.

I grew up in Yokohama, Japan, but I decided that I was ready to explore the world when I was finishing up the 10th grade. I moved to New York to pursue a musical life and career. I have Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Violin Performance, as well as Artist Diploma in String Quartet Studies from The Juilliard School.

I have been teaching students of all ages since 2005. Many of them were young children who simply enjoy playing the vio

lin, but I have had several students win domestic and international competitions. I am also very fond of working with adults with or without experience- I usually end up being great friends with them.

I often encourage my students to work on a solo repertoire of an appropriate level, as well as an ensemble piece that would help them develop their musicianship. I am very friendly and casual, but if you ask me to, I can be very tough (I was raised by a tiger mom.)

If you are a beginner and need help with reading music in general, don't worry- I teach a course called "Ear Training" at Juilliard, so that can be a part of our lessons as well.

I look forward to meeting you and making music together!

"I started taking lessons with Dr. Cseszko not long after starting college. As a non-music major, I thought it would be fun to learn violin, and while I ha
d musical experience, I had no experience with string instruments. Dr. Cseszko was very patient and encouraging as I learned my way around the violin. He was excellent at pointing out things that I was doing well, as well as things that I could improve on. He gave very clear explanations of proper technique and ways to refine my skills. I took lessons with Dr. Cseszko for over two years, and within a few semesters, I was confident enough in my abilities to play for orchestra at my university. I would highly recommend Dr. Cseszko to all students, whether they are a beginner, an already seasoned player, or somewhere in between."
