Great first lesson. Attentive, and I felt like we got right to playing. The hour went by real quick, but I feel like I gained something already, and expect to learn more in future lessons.

Did a great job of meeting me halfway on my experience level.

I create structured lesson plans tailored specifically to each individual student’s skill level and musical aspirations. Students are instructed in proper technique so as to avoid injury and develop finesse, dexterity and muscle memory. Not all students are interested in theory, but those who are will learn triads, basic scales, modes, chord extensions and superimposition, as well as substitutions etc. Students are also taught to develop a practice routine. I strive to help students bridge the gap between their imaginations and their fingers, turning the music they hear in their heads into a reality. Most importantly, I provide my students a fun, positive experience and help them to realize the fulfillment of their own creativity, something they may not have previously had access to.

I absolutely love Ariel's guitar lessons! He is SO knowledgeable and passionate about music, his enthusiasm is contagious. I had tried learning guitar in the past with other teachers but had never gotten the hang of it and was feeling pretty discouraged. Thankfully Ariel laid everything out so clearly and simply, put together such an easily-followable practice routine for me and made learning guitar seem totally doable. His rates are also super affordable, especially considering he seems to know way more about guitar and music in general than anyone I've ever met. Give him a try!

The guitar is a fantastic and extremely popular instrument. Many people can pick up a guitar and play a few chords, or sing one song. I strong urge guitarist who come to me to be interested in learning the musician aspects of the guitar as well. Most people who learn to play an instrument have to learn theory, scales, and harmony as well. On the guitar you do not have to learn these things to be able to "play" the instrument but I urge people to because that will show in the music you make.

About Christopher
Hello! Hola! Benvenuto! My name is Christopher S. and I am a classical guitarist, composer, polyglot, and experienced language and music teacher.

I am a recent graduate with a Masters of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA. There I studied with the world-renowned guitarist Eliot Fisk who is a direct student of the legendary guitarist Andres Segovia.

Currently I work part time teaching 12 students guitar at the University of South Carolina, in Columbia. I also I teach ukulele, Spanish, Italian, and English to a variety of students online. At the same time I am pursuing a Doctoral degree from the university to strengthen my skills as a guitarist and expand my knowledge as a teacher for higher education. I have also just completed my debut album titled, "Anima - The Music of Spain and Italy for the Gu
itar."

This album is a tribute and memorial to an amazing journey I had traveling and living in Europe for 3 years.

After I graduated from my undergraduate degree, I realized that in order to better my skills as a musician and become the guitar teacher I wanted to be I had to travel abroad. I moved to Seville, Spain where for three years I studied the art of classical and flamenco guitar.

I studied with a international known Spanish guitarist named Francisco Bernier at the Conservatory in Seville. During this time I was also teaching English as a second language to high school and middle school students. From traveling and spending so much time in Europe, I also developed and studied my love of languages and I became fluent in Spanish and Italian.

The experienced was an experience of a lifetime and I made many friends working and living abroad that to this day, I still keep in contact with.

If you are interested in having lessons with me, please contact me and we can begin learning the art of making beautiful music or learning the beautiful languages of the Mediterranean! "Hasta pronto!" "A presto!" and "Speak to you soon!"

As everyone is different with different goals, ages, and levels of proficiency so to is my method of instruction for each individual... Beginners will expect to quickly begin enjoying the instrument without intimidation by it ... they will learn... 1. Proper left and right hand, arm, and body positioning. 2. Proper (not common !) pick grip and angles. 3. Strongly "suggested" reading of music. 4. How to play notes and first position chords. 5. Rhythm focus to play along with all previously listed to some of their favorite songs... An intermediate to advanced Classical student may expect a doses of technique, sight reading, and theory within a particular lesson for say, ABRSM exam prep.. An Intermediate to Advanced Blues, Rock, or Shred student may expect more focus on scale and arpeggio applications for improvisation.

Years ago I took Guitar Lessons at a local music store ( a very prominent one) as a raw beginner and quickly became frustrated with my lack of progress. Although my teacher was a great player and "very hot" to look at I soon began to feel like I was merely his "practice dummy."... I'd play the chords he showed me, endlessly,... while he seemed to be just practicing his solo playing. ... I then tried On-Line Lessons from various sites which were actually even less helpful and soon just lost interest completely.
A friend of mine said she had taken lessons from a Don DeBold for about 5 years before going off to college and highly recommended him.
I've now been taking lessons from Don for almost 2 years and having a blast ! I've learned how to play along with most of my favorite songs (mainly Blues and Rock) and now I'm learning to play Solo Guitar that needs no accompaniment !
Unlike my first teacher, during many lessons Don barely plays or even has his Strat on his lap because he's busy concentrating on what I'm doing !
He's a stickler yet lots of fun at the same time> I super recommend him as a Guitar and Music Teacher !!! Aneiah J.

I play professionally as the guitar player for hard rock band Dead Poet Society. I love playing music - and want you to as well. Lessons with me are fun, relaxed, and easy-going. I'm a Californian surfer with a super chill mindset. I also graduated Berklee College of Music in Boston for guitar.

About Jack (John)
When he is not touring the world with his band Dead Poet Society, Jack is enjoying teaching his students guitar. Jack has had nearly a decade of teaching experience and continues to help students thrive at any skill level. His methods are relaxed but meticulous, and modeled after his very learnings at Berklee College of Music. Students love learning with Jack. They instantly appreciate his motivating and calm attitude. Jack takes different approaches for each student. Ones that strive to be music theory savants will go the long route through method books and rigorous theory. Others who wish to explore the instrument before deciding whether or not to commit serious time to it, will be treated with a fun, explorative atmosphere. He has taught students as young as five and as old as sixty-five, and makes sure to enjoy every lesson as much as
his students do.

Lessons will be based on what YOU want to learn! Together, we will articulate these goals and create a curriculum to achieve them. Lessons and practicing should be fun, and my experience of teaching many many different students taught me that structured and goal oriented practice is necessary in order to play the music you want to learn.
Your part is to bring up this effort and practice regularly.
My part is to help you learn HOW to practice and master the instrument with proper technique.

About Ines
I have been passionately teaching guitar for more than 10 years and have been working as a Teaching Assistant in Classical Guitar at USC for the past three years. Before coming to the US in 2013, I taught individual and group guitar lessons at several music schools in Germany.

I have extensive experience working with students of all levels, from beginners to professional players. My youngest student so far was my 4 year old nephew, my oldest student was in his early 70's. Growing up in Germany, I have been playing the Classical Guitar for 25 years. Over the years I became a versatile musician playing not only Classical Guitar, but also electric guitar, acoustic guitar, and early instruments, like the lute and baroque guitar. I enjoy playing different styles of music from all time periods as they let me express in unique ways.

Ines has been a great teacher throughout college. Her emphasis on technique has greatly influenced how I approach guitar playing. Also, she taught me how important one's guitar tone is when playing a song the way the composer intended it to be played. It is very clear that I have improved as a guitar player while being her student and my guitar repertoire has expanded beyond just classical music.

Hello!,

Our lessons will be relaxed and fun. I take pride in tailoring my curriculum to the needs and goals of each individual student- This helps me make sure that you are learning at a pace that feels comfortable for you, yet challenging.

We will work together to develop both your musicianship and creativity. I am a firm believer in music being a healing and mind-opening practice. One of my primary goals while teaching is to give my students an outlet to express themselves in a healthy and meaningful way. Let's get started!

Topics we can focus on together:
- Theory
- Improvisation (rock solos!)
- Strumming/finger-picking patterns
- How to sing and play at the same time
- Songwriting/Recording techniques
- Lyric Writing
- Stage Presence
- Exploring different musical genres

About Dayna
Hello!,

My classical training began at age 10, when I started to play the viola. From there, I was able to translate my musical skills to violin, guitar, piano, voice, composition, and songwriting.

Originally a biology major at SUNY Purchase College, I quickly became restless knowing that I was unable to focus on music enough. So, I switched it up, followed my passion, and began studying music theory and production. Since then, my life has been focused on teaching, performing, writing, and recording music- and I wouldn't have it any other way!
It's been quite a journey, and I can't wait to share all that I've learned along the way with you.

Whether you are just starting out, or are looking to further the knowledge you already have, I will meet you at where you are, and help you to achieve your personal goals.

Together we can work o
n technique, theory, improvisation, ear-training, songwriting, and more!
