I had my very first lesson today with Sal, and I’m excited about some very cute things he taught me in just a short period of time. He is very talented, approachable, enjoyable to work with, and knows what he’s doing. I look forward to learning and growing with him.

I have been teaching ukulele for over 5 years. Curriculum is student-specific but in most cases will include chord theory, strum patterns, finger picking, etc.

Matt continues to challenge me. His teaching methods are great - he doesn't just teach techniques, he immediately puts techniques to work by applying them to a song I would like to learn. He is also very good about explaining the reasoning behind certain techniques/habits.

Excellent. Didn’t need so much info about electric guitars since we’re just starting and have an acoustic guitar. Otherwise, excellent.

Matt was very thorough in determining my current skill level (which is basically beginner with some previous limited exposure to music and some self-taught cowboy chords). He asked me what I wanted to focus on and worked with me on beginning to change some bad habits/techniques that I had developed. Matt didn't just instruct, he EXPLAINED. I felt that the lesson was much more of a mutual discussion than a lecture/demonstration, which is a great thing. I felt very comfortable and believe that Matt's teaching techniques will help me achieve my goals.

My goal is to inspire students to create and share music that reflects their unique interests and voice, while providing a strong foundation of the fundamentals of music. Ukulele is a fun way to sing along to your favorite songs, while also introducing the student to rhythm, chord progressions, and reading music.

It has been a real pleasure to have Phillip as a teacher. He is so positive and so encouraging. Although we've only just begun, Phillip has provided a good foundation (and the encouragement) to continue to experiment and improve my skills. Thank you, Phillip. 4 Basic Ukulele Chords & 10 Easy Songs to Play for Beginners

The ukulele is a beginner-friendly, fun little instrument that you're never too young or old to try out. A few extra bonuses - it's affordable, portable, and there are many easy ukulele chords. If you don't already own a uke, you can start by choosing among the three most common ukulele sizes for your first instrument: the soprano, concert, or tenor. They all use the same tuning, but the main difference is in body size (tenor is the largest). You should be able to purchase a starter uke for …
