Ukulele is the perfect instrument for young students learning their first instrument. It's incredibly easy to get off the ground and start making music right away. For that reason, it's one of my favorite instruments to teach, and it's the instrument I recommend to first-time music students, even if they eventually want to switch to other instruments.

About Ben

Hi, there! My name is Ben and I can't wait to meet you! I've been teaching private lessons since 2012 and have taught students of all ages from 3 to adult. I have experience not just with teaching but also with writing, recording, and performing music in successful bands and on multiple instruments

Ben has character attributes one would like to find in a teacher, knowledge, patience and presence! Looking forward to our next lesson. Thanks Ben!

Fantastic, patient and kind ukelele instructor. I recommend Ben without reservation.
Thanks Ben!

Ben has been instructing my 2 kids (now aged 11 and 9) in-home for at least 5 years. We started off with piano for the first few years but then switched to a combination of piano and acoustic guitar (half a session dedicated to each instrument).

He is patient, kind, and highly knowledgeable. I clearly see the upward trajectory in my kids' musical capabilities. One of my kids can be difficult to deal with, especially when he is tired, but Ben would mold his approach to the lesson on the spot to keep my kid engaged (e.g., instead of continuing the lesson on the actual piano, he'd switch to a fun music-oriented game).

Love to teach beginners and intermediate students.
I teach all uke students how to read, theory, songs and how to understand playing the instrument solo or in a group setting.
Uke is capable of doing anything, all one has to do is apply oneself and music can come flowing out of the instrument.

About John

Hello, Thanks so much for taking the time to inquire about studying music with me. Music and studying music has always been a passionate experience for me. I have been so blessed with the teachers and fellow musicians in my life. You should realize that your study of music may start with me

I pay close attention to how each person learns and work with what the student can excel in. When needed we will do drills or work on theory or break down your technique to overcome any obstacles. With my industry expertise, I can help you become a proficient musician and help develop your style and artistry.

I look forward to working with you!

I'm re-learning the piano with David and he has changed my relationship to music for the better. After only a few lessons with David I've gotten a greater understanding of music theory than I had in my few years of early piano training. He is patient and flexible with his style of teaching. If it's taking me awhile to understand a concept he's good at explaining it more clearly. I definitely recommend him for learning the piano!
Christian J.
David is a highly skilled multi-instrumentalist and producer. I was introduced when he recorded an EP for my band and since then, we've spent many an evening talking about performing, recording, teaching and making music. He is kind, patient and extremely knowledgable about his craft. I always learn something new, interesting and immediately applicable to my playing when I work with him. I've had the privilege of sharing the stage with some of his students and they have always been exceptionally professional and prepared. I highly recommend David for lessons in whatever discipline you request - the crossover knowledge from all of his experiences will be invaluable to you.

I've been teaching ukulele for 5 years and it is one of my favorite instruments to play and teach! Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to play several chords and as time goes on you'll be able to play the songs that interest you most. I am a first time stringed instrument student. Zander has a talent for structuring lessons to make me 'work' to see progress. He is patient and answers my questions in a manner that make sense. I'm fortunate to have connected with him. Given his multi instrument proficiency and obvious knowledge base I can't help but recommend his teaching skills.
