It is so important to learn from a real professional. I am international soloist and pedagogue, having studied with the world's greatest teachers, Ivan Galamian, Dorothy DeLay, Josef Gingold, etc. international violin competitions winner. It is very easy to get faulty instruction at any stage of the development. Mine is of the highest of quality. I can teach from beginner to the most advanced. Have been teaching for 40+ years.

It’s been a long time since i first met Dr. Chin Kim, however, I clearly remember how his lesson was so scientifically approached and technically making sense in every details. Since then, I kept playing for him and got much ideas and much help from him which I still do time to time.
Although enough of his degrees, he constantly studies the music (I also have seen him taking a music theory class) and he is very diligent in self-enrichment.
Dr. Kim is very friendly to his students and he could be a good adviser not only in playing the violin but in elsewise, too.
I hope lots of musicians get a chance to meet him and play for him. I guarantee it’s worth much

You will not be disappointed with Dr. Kim. I have studied with him for nearly 10 years and he is one or the greatest violin pedagogues. He is great with both teaching techniques and musicality. He is the best not only with the music but also, he really cares about his students. So after knowing him for 20 years, I still play for him from time to time and ask for his advice. I am a professional violinist and pedagogue, and I wouldn’t have been where I am now without my dear teacher Dr. Chin Kim!

“Learning is becoming more aware." My favorite Dorothy Delay quote and one that I implement in my studio. By observing, hypothesizing, deducting, and problem-solving, my students will gain the skills needed not only to succeed in music, but also in every stage of life. I offer both lessons and coachings, in which we will cover violin technique (intonation, sound, phrasing, musicality, performance technique, audition preparation, etc.), and basic music theory (musical forms, rhythm, compositional techniques, etc.)
Lessons are tailored to the students individual levels and needs.

Looking forward to hearing from you!!

Born with perfect pitch, I started playing the violin and piano at the age of four. I am a classically trained violinist. Music is my biggest passion and I am currently auditioning for graduate programs. I did my undergraduate training from the Boston Conservatory and Berklee College of Music. I received scholarships from both institutions. I also hold a Bachelor of Science degree from University of California San Diego (UCSD). My past teachers include violinists from the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the concertmaster from Indianapolis Symphony.

I wholeheartedly understand that studying and understanding an instrument and its complexities is challenging, but it can also be incredibly rewarding and fun! It is a great way to express oneself and connect with others. I believe in incorporating music theory and ear training into learning the instrument, especially at a young age. I care deeply about each student's need and desire in terms of musical growth and promise to make the lessons

Music should never simply be a rote-learning process. We develop real artistry. My students learn how to interpret, transform, and create music. From the first lesson, we experiment with various musical "ingredients" and revisit these tools often as we move through a lesson series or repertoire. Students explore a variety of styles and learn to read, compose, and improvise. Students as young as five have created their own theme and variations on a favorite tune with these techniques.

The violin is an instrument that needs individual approaches to teaching, a very simple example is, I cannot teach in the same way a student that is short to one that is tall. Every single body is different, determining one of my most important philosophies: “Every student is different and they need me to see them as individuals and teach them differently.” As a teacher, I want to provide my students with all the tools that I have developed for them to become better musicians, violinists, and persons. It is my duty to give them knowledge, objectives, and inspiration through the process. And my ultimate goal is to reach the moment when they don’t need me anymore.
I have the compromise to bring the best to my students, and one of the ways to do it is to keep improving myself.
