I believe that everyone is different so the job of the instructor is to figure out what works for a particular student and how to present it best for faster, better understanding. I also believe that a good teacher is one that not only teaches the violin but plays it actively, professionally.

I have been teaching professionally for the past six years. As a student who struggled myself in nearly every aspect of education, I understand the importance of individualized learning. As a teacher and performer, I look to find relationships between the emotional and intellectual facets of music. By doing this, I try to uncover the mystery of violin playing, allowing my students to gain an understanding that will last with them forever.

Every single student posseses the potential to fulfill his or her violinistic dreams. I cater my teaching around the goals of each student, while still instilling a high artistic integrity.

Though I center each lesson around building a superior technical foundation, duet playing, the theory of harmony, and aural skills are integral parts of my teaching. I strive for my students to develope a beautiful, in-tune, pure sound that can directly connect to their own emotional palette.

I am a graduate student of violin performance at Sacramento State University, welcoming all ages and ability levels for violin lessons. I am a professional violinist in the National Philharmonic at Strathmore. I am a violin and viola teacher at a private school of music. I have been teaching students of all ages, from 6-adult for thirty years. I love teaching all ages and levels. What matters to me is that the student wants to learn to play the violin and enjoy music.

Whether you are a complete beginner or a more advanced student looking to improve your skills and musicality, I can help you wherever you're at! I have been teaching violin since 2008 and have both my bachelor's and master's degrees in violin performance. I stress a strong technical foundation in all my students through correct posture and relaxation while playing. I grew up in the Suzuki method and have been trained to use it for my beginning and intermediate students. I am a classically trained violinist and teacher, but can teach other genres as well!
