I am here to combine my academic teaching background with my guitar/music background. I have been playing for many years and I enjoy almost all types of music. I use many resources depending on what the student wants to learn. I can teach all ages and all learning backgrounds, I will adapt the instruction to what your strengths are.

I have been working as a professional musician since 1987. In that time, I've played many roles alongside a wide range of established and emerging talent, from around the world, including band leader, accompanist, music producer, composer, arranger, co-writer, teacher, coach and mentor. Along the way, I have continued to pursue my passion for education, teaching private music lessons to amateurs, professionals and hobbyists from all walks of life.

Guitar is my main instrument, and I have been playing since I was 13 years old.

Lessons with me are like playing a video game that trains you to be good at music. Seriously. Every exercise we do will generate a score, and you can practice between lessons in order to “beat your high score” during the next one. Ask me anything!

I deeply care about each and every one of my students. I believe in the power of learning an instrument in someone's development as a part of their education and providing meaning in their lives. I tailor the lesson to each student's needs and interests. There are so many ways to conceptualize music and theory and I am dedicated to making sure each student has a strong foundation that works for them. I am interested in making the student a better musician, not just a guitarist, so hopefully they will one day be able to teach someone else.
