About Cori
I have been a professional musician and educator in the Florida & Alabama panhandle for over 25 years. I cover a broad scope of ages (schoolage thru adult) and particular educational needs (hobby, scholarship, learning disabilities, etc ). I teach in classroom (group), private and online settings.

I have a unique teaching style to blends both Traditional note-reading and ear training methods with both Classical and Contemporary repertoire.

My students can expect to improve week to week in their violin technique and expand their repertoire every 2 weeks. I help each student unlock and release their own particular musical style and increase their abilities with freedom, confidence, and expression.

I teach violin students of all different ages and experience levels and enable them to sight read music and pursue both classical and/
or contemporary excellence, to learn how to play contemporary music using chord sheets, or both depending on the goals and preference of the student.

As a professional musician I have played many public venues over the past three decades including weddings, bands, for/with recording artists and Worship leaders such as Rita Springer and Lindell Cooley. I love to mentor students who want to become effective, dynamic worship leaders. My personal passion is contemporary music, and firmly believe that great classical technique is essential to any and every style.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you to become a better musician!

***Background checked*** both through Alabama Assemblies of God and via FLORIDA coalition of Private Schools

My two daughters began their violin instruction with Cori 11 years ago. Cori's creative and personalized approach gave them a great foundation in fundamentals of violin technique while keeping them inspired, motivated, and engaged. Cori is very organized and has developed a progressive teaching approach that really works for children. We loved that Cori taught both classical and fiddle styles. To this day, they continue to pursue both. After 3 years with Cori we moved away, but my girls continued to play both solo, duets, chamber music and full orchestra. My younger daughter was youth orchestra and high school concertmaster. Both girls won multiple college scholarships for their violin/viola playing. I attribute their continued success in music in large part to the foundation they got from Cori.

I love teaching violin students of all levels and ages! I focus on having fun playing as well as tone production, intonation, musicality and how to develop a regular practice routine.

About Laura
Laura has taught throughout her musical career and loves nothing better than to introduce students of all ages to the magic of creating their own music! As a teacher, she focuses on balancing inspiration and explanation. Inspiration: because if you don’t love your music, what’s the point? And technique: because if it’s easy to play and sounds good, you’ll keep coming back for more!

Laura has a BA in Violin Performance and a minor in American Roots Music from Berklee School of Music, has taught privately for nine years, and plays in several bands. Laura has taken firsts in her age division at several fiddle contests, including the California and Nevada Oldtime Fiddle State Champions, Western Open Championships and top 5 in the National Oldtime Fiddle Championships.

*** Studio Equipment ***
I provide sheet music for new tunes, stick
ers, and a basic fix-it kit for common instrument issues. I also try to keep backup books and a shoulder rest around at my studios so if someone forgets their equipment we can still make good use of the lesson.

I expect the student to provide their instrument, shoulder rest/end pin stopper, notebook, device for recording music, folder/binder for loose papers, and books. I don't require lots of books - just ones you'll use!

*** Travel Equipment ***
See Studio Equipment, above.

*** Specialties ***
I love teaching oldtime, bluegrass, country and celtic fiddle - most of what I do as a performer fits in along those lines. I teach Suzuki method violin as well. My Suzuki teacher learned directly from Shinichi Suzuki!

I encourage all my students to improvise, to try different musical styles, and to experiment with composition. My goals are to share my own love for music, and enable students to discover their unique musical voice.

Whether you're a tiny tot where I use the Suzuki method, or high level amateur violinist, I can help you improve, expand your repertoire, and gain much pleasure from your hard work on this amazing instrument!

About Stephanie
I am a career musician, and conservatory trained violin, piano and vocal instructor with over 25 years teaching experience, and a resume spanning many pages. I also am a well endorsed composer. Furthermore, I LOVE teaching! I am a competition judge, member of National Music Teachers Association, and Suzuki Association of the Americas. I have proven results, as documented on my students YouTube channel. With my instruction, you will learn quickly and most importantly, correctly, saving you time and resources as you reach your musical goals. Fact: One of the only activities that activates, stimulates, and uses the entire brain is music, so let's get started!

Some people have difficulty reaching a teachers' studio. For this reason, I have perfected my ability to teach via Skype or FaceTime. It is an advantage for my students to b
e instructed by a quality teacher. It's worth a try, isn't it?

Please note: I only accept weekly lesson students. Also, due to my performances, I'm not always able to this calendar up to date....so when you request a lesson time, allow me to communicate with you, if we need to adjust it a bit. It almost always works out if you don't mind doing that.

*** Lesson Details ***
All the students on my Student YouTube channel who have studied under three years, are practicing 2 hours a week, and you will have a similar result. That's 20 minutes a day, 6 days a week. Students under 5 practice about 10-15 minutes a day.

Please have an assignment book that lies flat, and keep it next to your music books as you practice between lessons. My instructions are very detailed to insure your best progress.

*** Studio Equipment ***
For on-line lessons, you will need a quiet place, and please test your sound and video prior to beginning of lesson. For students under 13 or so, do have a parent or caregiver taking notes while we work together.

*** Specialties ***
I have much experience with various learning styles, and in fact, am featured in a documentary made of one of my autistic students.

She asks that you practice 20 minutes a day. Since she inspires you to improve and do your best, it is easy to practice longer than requested. She has brought joy back into my life through music. I began privately instructing students while I was still in high school. Thirty years later, my studio teaching experience continues to instill a passion for music and students that are performing in their own venues in school and the community. Knowing that the time I have with each person is leading them to grow and share their own abilities with others is truly the heart of where I think musical instruction should lead.

About Kendra
My love of music and sharing that through one on one instruction has only increased over the course of my career. I began studying violin and viola during my primary education. With the tutelage of my wonderful private instructor, I was able to successfully audition and perform with various orchestral groups. This experience inspired me to continue my musical studies and performance at the University of Colorado and the University of Brandon (Canada). During the course of my professional career I have expanded my studies to other musical genres including blues, jazz, rock, folk, latin, and fiddle styles. This opened the door to freelance, record, and perform in various venues while maintaining a 'classical' career as well. Whether online or in person, I tailor the lesson for each of my students to be able to pursue their particular mu
sical interests while learning a solid classical approach to technique and theory.

As a violin teacher, I love helping my students achieve their goals!
I believe not only the results matter, but also the journey. I focus my lessons on helping the student learn and have a deeper understanding of music theory, harmony, rhythm, technique, and how all those apply to the violin. I specialize in classical music and I use methods such as Suzuki, Essential Elements, and many others to help you become a better violinist. The lessons take place in a relaxed and fun setting :)

About Tania
I have been playing the violin for more than 20 years but my love for teaching started about 10 years ago! I became fascinated with teaching as not only I have learned so much about myself as a musician and person but most importantly I have learned how to help my students become better musicians.
As we are all so different, I believe in exploring and experimenting with the way we learn. My approach to teaching the violin is based on the student's needs, desire, and, finding the best way to help them develop as musicians. I do not use a specific method of teaching as I believe one needs to be flexible and malleable with each individual student. I work with each student until we get the results desired.

Tania has been a great teacher for my son. He started learning violin with the Suzuki method and studied with a Suzuki teacher for about four years before stopping lessons. He became interested in violin again in middle school and decided he wanted to take private lessons while in 7th grade. Tania had no trouble getting him back on track, picking up with some Book 2 pieces and moving on to Book 3. She has helped him with his bowing, vibrato and shifting, and his sound has really improved. She also has helped him learn to read better and has introduced some basic music theory into lessons. My son really likes his lessons, and feels that he is learning what he needs. Overall, I like her approach, which I think works very well for this level. She is an excellent musician, and this comes through in her teaching.

My first lesson with Tania met my expectations. She did an assessment to determine where I am in my learning and what I know. She gave me great pointers and we worked on a short piece alone with a Major scale. I look forward to my next lesson and expect to progress tremendously under her instruction.

I had such a wonderful experience with Tania as my violin teacher. I minored in music at Florida State University and was lucky enough to be her violin student for two years (August 2013-May 2015). Tania was extremely patient and encouraging, and was very skilled in teaching me how to balance focus on technical details as well as on the "bigger picture" of emotion and musicality. In my opinion and experience, Tania's greatest strength as a teacher is being very adaptable to her students' needs. When I was preparing for an important audition, her expectations and demands were where they needed to be in order for me to succeed. Months later, when I was approaching exams and graduation, she recognized that practicing every day was not my priority at that time, and she adjusted her teaching style so that I could still improve and use music as a constructive and creative outlet during those stressful times so that I could excel in my examinations.

From lesson to lesson (and in-between!), she succeeded in her best efforts in connecting with me not only as my teacher and as a fellow musician, but also as a fellow human being, pushing me to fulfill my potential in each and all of these areas. I highly recommend her as a teacher!

I have been playing the violin for over 9 years now and have led first violin sectionals in my high school orchestra for four years, giving me valuable experience in guiding students through very difficult passages of music and in teaching them advanced techniques. I am able to teach basic note reading, the basics of bow holding and posture, and all other aspects of introductory violin and music. I am learning to play other instruments right now, so I know what it is like to learn a new instrument, and I know the best ways to do so. Hopefully you'll let me share my knowledge with you!

About Tyler
Hello! I am a college student looking for opportunities to help you learn! I am most able to teach music, specifically the violin, but can help in a number of academic subjects as well. I have been playing the violin for nine years, have been concertmaster/principal violin of Heritage High School's prestigious Orchestra program for two years, and have attended the statewide Solo and Ensemble festival since seventh grade, receiving "Superior" ratings every year. At the state competition my senior year, I was nominated to be a member of the Michigan Youth Arts Honors Orchestra, with an extra nomination to be one of four "Outstanding Soloists" in the entire state. Since I had been concertmaster of Heritage's orchestras, I was leading sectionals for my four years of high school, which is where my initial teaching experience comes from. Beyond
my curricular musical experience, I have composed a few orchestral pieces of my own, played as a guest soloist in multiple ensembles locally, and played in various youth and festival orchestras.

I believe in a very relaxed and comfortable teaching environment and teacher-student relationship, and I make it clear that the time that you are willing to put into learning determines how well you will learn. I make my best effort to mimic how my violin teachers taught me, as I was always excited to spend an hour of my week with an impassioned, joyful master of an art (though admittedly, I am no master!). Regardless, I am here to help and guide you in whatever way possible, but, as always, "practice makes perfect!"

Beyond my musical experience and accolades, I had a very successful academic career in high school. I graduated summa cum laude and top 20 in my class of 350 from Heritage High School, with a near 4.0 GPA. My academic merits earned me a full tuition scholarship from Saginaw Valley State University, where I currently attend. Given my academic experience and merits, I consider myself able to teach high school mathematics (Geometry and Algebra 1) and some English as well.

I hope this has been helpful and informative, and I look forward to teaching you!

I have been studying violin for over 15 years and will shortly begin graduate studies in music performance. In May 2016, I graduated from Duke University with degrees in global health, sociology, and ethics (I also earned distinction in music). I was a two-time winner of the Duke Symphony concerto competition, and I also served as the orchestra's concertmaster and president. Furthermore, I have been an official course instructor, a teaching assistant, and a writing tutor during college.

About Jenny
With a strong passion for music performance, I have been diligently studying the violin for over 15 years and have won multiple competitions and awards. I am excited to begin my graduate studies in violin performance this August at Temple University's Boyer College of Music and Dance, as the recipient of a generous Dean's Performance Grant. In the meantime, I will be attending several intensive summer festivals, including the Luby Violin Symposium, the National Orchestral Institute, and the Emerging Artist Fellowship Program at Garth Newel.

I completed my undergraduate work at Duke University in May 2016, earning degrees in global health, sociology, and ethics. Although I did not major in music at Duke, I was fortunate to have been quite involved in the music department. I studied violin with Mr. Eric Pritchard of the Ciompi Quartet fo
r four years, and I was a two-time winner of the Duke Symphony concerto competition. I also served as concertmaster and president of the Duke Symphony Orchestra, directed by Professor Harry Davidson. Upon graduating from Duke, I was awarded the Julia Wilkinson Mueller Prize for Excellence in Music, a Benenson Award in the Arts, and graduation with distinction in music. Last year, as a graduating college senior, I was honored to perform a solo for Duke University's board of trustees, including president Richard Brodhead and Apple CEO Tim Cook. Other than music, I am also extremely passionate about global health, social justice, filmmaking, writing, and education.
