The first lesson was great. She explained some of the fiddle's background, how to hold it, and how to play it all in an interactive way. The time flew by. My daughter is very enthusiastic about the lessons & even more excited about the fiddle than before the lesson. Kathleen is awesome.

About Sepehrdad
As an experienced Violin teacher I help students to teach themselves the violin, to understood that their playing only improves when they change habits. A bored or disinterested child simply won’t progress, and a great violin teacher knows how to communicate with creativity and clarity. I have proper knowledge of the violin’s mechanics, general musical and repertoire knowledge, skilled as a player, and strength as a communicator. I have a bachelor degree in string performance, and I’ve taught students from beginner to advance for more than 10 years, guided students participating in inter-school musical shows, competitions and different musical presentations – Fests and orchestras. An experienced and certified Suzuki teacher, my students learn to play the violin starting from a solid foundation with emphasis on posture and producing a beautiful tone. In addition to playing the instrument, students can expect to learn reading music, basic theory, music history, and ear training. Learning violin will teach patience, concentration, the value of hard work, coordination, as well as enhancing memory, aural skills, and fine motor control. It was Dr. Suzuki's belief and mine that learning an instrument not only fosters these skills but also helps to foster the hearts and minds of those learning the craft.

About Sylvia
Sylvia is a violinist based in Cleveland, with an active career as a performer and teacher. She is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music with both a Bachelor’s in Violin Performance and a Master’s degree in Violin Performance and Suzuki Pedagogy. A fully certified teacher through the Suzuki Association of the Americas, she teaches through the Music Settlement, Laurel School, Bard High School, and maintains a private studio of students in Cleveland and Zimbabwe with ages ranging from three year-olds to adults. As a performer, she performs regularly throughout the Cleveland area with the Akron Symphony, and in chamber and solo appearances in a variety of settings from concert halls to hospitals.

During the summers Ms. W has participated in Bowdoin International Music Festival, National Repertory Orchestra, and Music Inspire Af
rica, a life-changing program that allowed her to share her love of performing and teaching music with the people of South Africa and Zimbabwe. Building from this experience, Ms. W founded her own program in 2017, Cleveland Harare Music Exchange, which seeks to bring musical guidance to the children of Harare, Zimbabwe through the Suzuki method and high level performances.

Ms. W believes strongly in music education as a tool for social change, and is excited to study this topic in depth as a member of the 2018 Global Leaders Program. As a participant, Ms. W will have the opportunity to engage a diverse group of students in Chile and Puerto Rico this spring.

As an experienced musician, composer, and teacher, I've been trained by some of the best music professionals in the PNW. After 6 years of teaching violin and piano, I know how to best fit my students needs. Whether you're a beginner or intermediate player, we'll work on developing fundamental skills. In our lessons we'll focus on technique, music theory, sight reading, learning your favorite music, and most importantly how to be relaxed and have fun! I believe the best musicians are the ones who play because of their love for music. If you're looking to become a better player who's willing to practice and have fun, send me a message and let's get started!

About Peyton
At a very young age I discovered my passion for music. As a child I was involved in numerous state choirs, prestigious orchestras, and symphonies. In college, I studied piano performance, music composition, and played violin in the Western Washington University Symphony. Throughout my music education I was instructed by some of the greatest teachers and conductors in the PNW, all of whom used different teaching styles and techniques. I've taught both piano and violin for 6 years and incorporate what I've learned to personalize lessons for each student.
In my experience, people learn best when they enjoy the music they're learning and become aware of their progress and accomplishments. I encourage my students to be patient when learning a difficult piece or gaining new skills. Like anythings progress takes a little time and hard work, but
that doesn't mean you can't have fun along the way!

Patient and caring instructor! Allows you to choose what you want to play instead of choosing music for you. I chose a composition by Hayao Miyazaki, as I always loved his music. Showed me websites I could use to support my learning, as well as provided relevant assignments. Taught me about musicality, rather than just playing the notes. Helped me with reading spacing between notes as intervals rather than looking at the notes themselves which was very helpful

First of all, I will discuss with their parents and students what is their goal for learning violin. My teaching style depends on what goal the student wants to achieve.

I had built my own violin studio in Taiwan since I was 18 years old. Many of my students won the prize in the competition in Taiwan. Furthermore, I have had the opportunity to lead a sectional violin in a junior high school’s string orchestra for a year. Beyond that, I also gave a coaching to for string quartet to my students regularly. Through these experiences, I have been fortunate enough to educate a diverse group of elementary and middle school students.

I am passionate about teaching violin and really enjoy how students inspire me in life. I always focus on expanding children’s interests by improvising music, playing or recomposing pop music, incorporating music activities such as concerts, performances, competitions to encourage and build children’s confidence. By utilizing these methods, I am able to ...

I love the study of classical violin playing but I also like the inclusion of violin in jazz, pop, rock, and other styles. We will study classically, but we will also work in other genres and learn improvisation technique. Why learn to just read when you can learn to talk too? Improvisation is like conversation on the violin

About Brysien
I enjoy teaching and I love to see my students progress. When we work, you will improve. I have been an actively performing musician since the age of 14 and have presented concerts and taught classes in several countries.

While I teach many musical subjects, my specialties are working with the voice and teaching violin. If you;d like to become a skilled singer or violinist I think we will eb a good fit.

Maybe you just want to try singing or violin once or twice to see if it fits. That's OK too! If you're curious about music this is a healthy way to safely explore that curiosity with guidance.
