Hi! I have been playing guitar for over 40 years. I was introduced to guitar by my older brother. He taught me Johnny B. Goode & we would jam for hours. I took some music classes at college but was a business major. Colleges only offered classical guitar & I was not interested in that. I have since studied six years with SF Conservatory graduate & classical guitarist Tim Lawler. Tim helped me learn to read music & develop my teaching skills. Thanks Tim!
I have been teaching for over 25 years, making a living at it for most of that time. I teach group & private lessons. Most of my students are beginners. Many start out as kids & stay until they go to college. I have a lot of teen & adult students also, with many diverse interests from classical, jazz, rock, funk, blues, alt, pop, rap, punk, metal, folk, country, game music, Americana, reggae, bluegrass. I also have those interests. Students are studying with me; we are both learning. I enjoy it as much as they do. I ...

The Guitar is my first love. I customize every lesson for every individual student that I have, and base the heart of each lesson off of the infatuation I have for my six-stringed side kick. I love to use the guitar as a tool to expand my students creativity. My students learn to listen and appreciate a broad variety of styles and experience the full music spectrum.
Lessons will cover scales, theory, chords, jazz and blues progression as well as Crafting your tone for your amplifier, finger picking and performance techniques.
About Rachel
I started my musical path in a Ballet Studio. I fell in love with the crackle of the vinyl record playing as I learned to listen and dance with the rhythm. I started playing the guitar when I was in elementary and took classical lessons until I was a teenager.I really enjoy the art of practice

Over the course of many years, I have taught various styles of guitar to many different types of people. Whether you're interested in learning to play a specific song, or if you've just always wanted to play guitar but weren't sure where to start, I will join you in your journey and help you discover the tools that you need to reach the level that you want.
I help my students figure out and understand how the instrument and their own hands work, so that they are able to get full control of the guitar and play in various styles with ease. I work to make sure as many doors as possible are open to my students, and I leave it up to them to decide which doors they want to walk through.
About Kirk
I have been studying music for most of my life and began teaching when I was 16. I have been given the opportunity to learn from some of the best musicians and teachers around. Before relocating to Denver, I regularly gave performances throughout the Cincinnati area, as well as in surrounding state

I strongly recommend Guilherme!"

I love taking lessons from Alex. At first I was skeptical about taking lessons via Skype but it really works great. It is such a time saver to be able to take the lessons from my home. Alex is very patient and always is prepared. I had been particularly interested in practicing guitar rhythms. He put together rhythm exercises in several keys for me to practice. He sends them to me in advance so I can practice. He is really good at letting me go my own pace while still pushing me to work on stuff that is not as easy. He is honest and isn't uncomfortable telling me I didn't stay on beat. However, his criticism doesn't make you feel bad or like a hopeless musician. My rhythm playing has vastly improved since I started taking lessons from Alex."

Great teacher."

Do you view practicing your instrument like a chore? For some students, a simple shift in the way you look at practicing can change your whole experience. Read on for one helpful strategy from Fort Collins, CO teacher Jim H.: My father was a guitar teacher and as a child, I often went with him to his lessons. I learned about different teaching techniques while watching my dad instruct his students. Over the years, I have incorporated some of my father’s teaching styles along wit …
