Positivity and encouragement are the cornerstones of my teaching style! All ages are welcome. Starting with technique and posture, lessons are then customized to include music theory, music history, ear training, and sight reading. I also teach how to effectively practice on your own, so you grow every time you pick up your violin. I can't wait to share my passion for music!
About Alison
I learned to play violin when I was 10 and music remains my greatest passion to this day. I also sing and have performed with several bands, but there's nothing like being part of a full symphony orchestra like I was in school. I started teaching violin to my 9 year old niece in 2020 and I am excit

Music can be a very intimate practice. To share, create and collaborate can be challenging if not fostered in the beginning of musical education. Lending students a safe and educational place to create can lead to great confidence that spans all areas of life and study. Because of this, I encourage involvement in the community where possible. For instance, I most recently had my violin students collaborate with the local youth guitar orchestra to perform a small concert series. I challenged my students to ideate and take a hands on approach to arranging the music. The relationships they built were forever lasting, the skills the gained were expansive and each witnessed their own improvement with excitement. Engagement fosters a higher-level of learning and development.
Fostering creativity leads to development but it can only grow from the fundamentals. The more tools in the box, the more one can create. Some discipline is needed to gain the understanding necessary to reach any ...

My professional career has nothing to do with music. Learning violin again is a hard work. The physical challenge is there, the ability rapidly to develop muscle tone and memory “sadly just isn’t there anymore.” My right arm is as stiff as a 2x4 stud and left fingers slip. So, lighting dashes over strings will take longer – much longer - to perfect.
But, Tigran reminded me that he has not found any shortcuts and he has been looking for a long time. I resumed very basic finger exercises and routine scales. And the results were very slow but the reward was there.
Tigran is very structured and systematically approaching how to improve the intonation and tonal quality. So, I am happy to leave it up to him to take the lead."

Anyone who has the opportunity to encounter her instructional teaching will benefit from her style and passion of teaching from the beginner, intermediate and advanced level student."

My son started working with Ms. Autumn about two years ago. Before he started lessons, he was feeling frustrated and behind other students his age. He is now shifting, using vibrato, and showing so much confidence in his playing. Thank you!"
