As I am an older adult piano student with many years of experience playing organ and digital keyboard, including publicly and for hire, I was uncertain which way to go when I decided to add piano (and ultimately jazz piano) to my repertoire. After considering a number of options (online teaching programs, books, YouTube videos, and various instructors), I decided to employ Holly's vast musical expertise. I was impressed that she had a proposed lesson plan right off the bat, and she convinced me that starting with classical music may be the way to morph my way into jazz piano. I knew as a fact that many jazz musicians had their start that way. Holly has been very patient with my learning the whole new way of playing that a piano entails (no more relying on the built-in bells and whistles of an arranger keyboard). I would recommend Holly for adult students as well as children. She knows her stuff. And if she gets mad if I don't play something right the first time, she sure doesn't show it (mainly because she DOESN'T get mad at all). But my biggest recommendation comes that she is darn passionate about what she does.

I totally enjoyed my class with Geoff. We immediately started my lesson with tuning the ukulele. Then we went over the cords and strumming. I have been researching on playing the ukulele and his explanation on the strumming was a lot better than the book. He is teaching me how to play by listening to the notes which is great because I would be able to play the Hawaiian music for my hula classes. In addition, his studio is only a 5 minute drive from my house, which means I don’t have to deal with traffic.

I played the Flute in high school and have not played music since. San is the director of music at the RV park my husband and I currently reside (snowbirds). The park has a band composed of residents and San is the director. I have enjoyed listening to the band play for the park residents so much and Sans offered classes to park residents so I have always wanted to learn guitar so I signed up for classes.

San has made classes enjoyable and challenging. She always gives me something to strive for, gears the lessons to my knowledge/ability and keeps me interested and wanting to learn more. I highly recommend Sans as an instructor. She will not disappoint!
