Best instructor ever. Very patient. Knows how to handle an old guy like me. My playing doesn't really deserve someone as good, but I'm thankful to have her.

My violin playing has been featured with Kevin Olusola (Pentatonix, "Heart Attack"), Glee, Perla Batalla (Leonard Cohen), and featured on dozens of records with dozens of LA artists (Hayley Kiyoko, Zac Poor, REO, Yore). I have a BFA Performer Composer degree from the California Institute of the Arts, I graduated in 2012.

I focus on the Suzuki method with an emphasis on technique, rhythm, and sight reading. If you are looking for a teacher with a fun, fresh perspective on learning the violin, I'm your guy!

Andy has been so fantastic with my daughter. Not only does he teach her the fundamentals of piano, he also incorporates teaching her more modern songs from bands she likes as well as songs she has written herself. He encourages her to always be creative and records her playing and singing the song, with his accompaniment, for her to listen to. She has been learning with Andy for a few years now and every lesson is new and different. We couldn't recommend him enough

Andy always manages to motivate my daughter and get her to enjoy playing her viola, which is no mean feet! She looks forward to the lessons and has improved greatly over the last couple of years.

BEST TEACHER EVER! Seeri started our son with violin when he was 8 and a half. He has been thriving since and got into a great orchestra less than a year after beginning violin (another orchestra than his school's)! Seeri is an incredible blend of an exquisite person and a superbly focused and intense teacher. She is a natural with children (and my son is hard to lead): kind yet firm, playful at times but always keeping the child on the track of the present learning and practice. She also teaches everything, music reading and theory included. A pure gem.

Terrible. Only taught 30 minutes out of 60 minute sessions. On the 3 session I mentioned it and he said he didn’t think my son needed more than that even though we paid for it. Was so disrespectful!!!! Never again!!! Highly unprofessional when asked about why he cut the lessons short. Please don’t leave your kids with this instructor work paying attention. He will get over on you if he thinks you’re not involved.

Alethia is great. She is working with my 7 yr. old daughter as a beginner in violin. She teaches in a way that is fun, appropriate, and respectful. My daughter has already learned so much and looks forward to her lessons with Alethia each week.

Alethia is very knowledgeable about technique and skilled at teaching.

Alethia is a very talented teacher and violinist. She is extremely professional, attentive and accommodating to her students needs/goals. As an older student with no musical background, she has made the violin less intimidating and more accessible by breaking it down and making it less complex and easier to understand. While, I've only been with her a few years, I'm very proud of the progress I've made with her. If you are interested in taking up the violin, I highly recommend her.

"Kudos to Kelvin! He played an integral part in preparing Nick for his audition with the Metropolitan Youth Symphony Orchestra in Atlanta. The best part is that Nick passed the audition and will be joining the orchestra later this month. Kelvin and Nick have a great connection. He truly supports my son's love of music."

"Mrs. Strange is a great teacher. She listens to her student when they are having trouble. She easily recognizes a students weaknesses and shows them how to build on them to make them a strength. This does not allow a student to start making mistakes which can easily become habits. You will learn to play your instrument properly and consistantly. Kind caring and compassionate I highly recommend her to anyone that really wants to learn to play."

"My 4-year old son and I have been taking violin lessons with Krisztina for a little over 6 months.
It's been a great experience for both of us. Krisztina is really adept at engaging him. She knows that little kids have short attention spans and makes her lessons fun. She can read him well and she is really good at incorporating characters and toys he likes into the lesson to keep it interesting for him.
It's been wonderful for me too to be able to learn the violin at the same time and for us to practice and play together., Krisztina is able to seamlessly teach and challenge both of us during the same session in spite of our age difference.
We started out with in-person lessons and switched to online classes as the pandemic set in. I'm grateful that we can continue despite the the social distancing mandate."

"Erin is a great violin teacher for my son!

At first, I was skeptical if my son could actually learn violin on skype. Erin proved that it can work very well. She helped my son to improve the techniques and was strict about his posture (much needed!). Erin was very encouraging and patient with my son. She always wrote the post-lesson notes, which was super helpful to keep my son focused on the areas for practice.

When my son decided that he wasn't interested in violin any more, Erin encouraged him, and offered good advice for me too. I really appreciate Erin's professionalism and positive attitude!"

How to Hold a Violin Bow with Proper Grip: Step-by-Step Beginners' Guide

One of the most challenging parts of learning how to play the violin is learning how to hold a bow properly, as it can feel very unnatural for beginner and intermediate students.
