I've taught people who were just beginning violin (both children and adults) to students who were working on major concertos. What is most important to me as a teacher is that the student connect with the music and their instrument by being creative and personalizing my approach for the student. I also strongly strive to make performers out of violinists and to help them engage both audiences and themselves.

About Ha-eun
I have been surrounded by music my whole life and have played violin for 19 years. I went to high school at the Interlochen Arts Academy, obtained a BM in violin performance at Oberlin Conservatory and an MM at the Boston Conservatory. I have won competitions, played in professional orchestras, performed with college faculty, soloed with orchestras, and won the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artists Award.

I have completed a pedagogy course in college and at the graduate level. I have taught children, teens, and adults alike. I had the fortune of studying with wonderful teachers and strive to be like them and pass on their wisdom.

I am passionate about teaching out of a desire to help people express themselves and appreciate music on a deeper level. I am very enthusiastic and adapt my approach to each student's level, personality, and needs
while seeking to build a good rapport. I make creative analogies to keep them engaged. I am positive while critiquing because I believe negativity is counterintuitive to effective learning. I have experience working with elementary school kids, having spent three years employed at a Boys and Girls Club.

Just as I believe in culturing love of music in children, I truly enjoy working with older and more experienced students. I am very eager to help them develop their musicality and good technique. I have an extensive repertoire list and thus am able to aid students in learning challenging music such as show pieces and concertos.

I predominantly teach classical music but have helped students in other music activities. With older and more advanced students I am willing to teach music of their own choosing. I have also helped a student prepare for college auditions.

On practical matters, I require 24 hours advance notice before rescheduling or canceling a lesson, barring emergencies. If a student is late by over 1/3 of the lesson time (leaving less than 20 minutes for 30 minute lessons, 30 minutes for 45 minute lessons) I will count it as missed and the lesson will be forfeit. I inform students 24 hours in advance for scheduling changes and always do makeup lessons if I am sick on a scheduled lesson day.

I really look forward to meeting new students and to inspire them to be at their best!

Ha-eun is fantastic! She is helping our 10 year-old daughter master a new piece she needs to learn within the next 2 weeks. Can't praise her enough! We do in person as well as internet lessons. During the lesson, Ha-eun is focused on the student and her passion for music and fondness of teaching others truly shows. Listening to her playing the violin to show how it should be done is a delight. We consider ourselves lucky to have such a great teacher.

Have you or your kids always wanted to learn to play the violin? I am an experienced violin teacher specialized in beginner and intermediate violin students of ALL ages. I believe that it is never too late to learn to play the violin, no matter your age! I teach classical violin through Suzuki method and also modern violin with a focus on rock, jazz and improvisation.

About Hannah
After studying piano for almost 10 years I decided I wanted to learn a new instrument and began taking violin lessons when I was 16 years old. In spite of people telling me that I was “too old” to learn to play the violin, I continued practicing and one year later I joined my first orchestra. In 2016 I graduated with a BA in Music from the University of Massachusetts Boston and I am now the violinist of Boston-based fusion rock band " The Sunset Kings".
In November of 2018, I released my Spanish debut single "Ni Una Más" under my artist name "Hannah Schzde". "Ni Una Más" is now available in every music streaming service world-wide!
In addition to offering private violin and piano lessons and performing with The Sunset Kings, I am also a studio violinist and perform with different orchestra pits in the Boston area while I continue to wri
te and record new material for my upcoming debut EP.
***Note: My availability is flexible! Please send me a message if my calendar doesn't fit with your schedule and we'll work it out!***

I love music and it is my greatest joy to share that love of music with others! I believe as a teacher, my most important job is to build confidence in my students. Confidence not only in their technique, but also in their creative potential. I try to accomplish this goal by including improvisation, composition, arranging, music theory, music history, and much more in my lessons. Want to figure out how to play a top 40 piece while learning Mozart? I've got you! I want my students to leave every lesson feeling like they can accomplish anything, nothing is too hard or not for them.

About Jordan
I am a classically trained violinist with a Bachelor of Music Performance from Illinois Wesleyan University. I am a professional violinist, vocalist, and arranger.

I perform in a variety of styles including Jazz, Hip-hop, and pop. I tour with Thee Phantom and The Ill-Harmonic Orchestra and have arranged pieces for this group that have been performed at the Tobin Performing Arts Center in San Antonio Texas and the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. I perform locally as a violinist and vocalist as well, and I have managed several local bands.

As a teacher, I want my students to build confidence and have a fantastic time while working hard and making great strides. I work with every student to work with their individual goals and availability so that they can see success and growth in their technique and musicianship. I have a heavy emphas
is on technique and my students can expect to receive regular exercises to expand their technical proficiency. Additionally, I believe it is very important for every student to love what they are playing so I work with students on picking pieces, arranging music, and even composing their own works, so that they have a full experience.

I believe that great technique fosters confidence and excitement. Even though I am very interested and excited in having a wide variety of musical genres explored, I believe that creating a strong foundation is the key to success.

I've been teaching for more than 10 years, and playing for more than 20. While my strongest background is in classical music, with over 20 years experience and a competitive resume, I also have fairly extensive experience with jazz, bluegrass, folk tunes, and electric violin. I take my pride in my ability to structure repertoire and exercises according to each student's goals.

I've taught both group and individual lessons in the past, and founded and designed a program back in NJ for under-served communities without arts programs to learn violin from the ground up, with 50+ participants. My general approach is to maintain certain necessary basic technical standards and introductory milestones, while individualizing the repertoire and goals based on each student's interests, and their strengths and weaknesses.

About Deby
About Me: I teach violin and viola. I recently returned for my Master's in Music at BU in viola. I received my undergraduate degree from Princeton, with a Certificate in Music Performance while studying both violin and viola at Manhattan School of Music Pre-college(based in NY). I've been playing for more than 20 years. My main love and focus is classical music, but I've also played jazz, bluegrass, folk, rock, Broadway, and electric violin.

I have a long history of teaching violin and viola, starting with my youngest siblings as guinea pigs! I strive to make learning and practicing exciting and accessible, and will adjust lessons, goals, and repertoire to fit each student, both in terms of their interests and how they learn best.

I have experience teaching children and adults of all ages, ranging from 3 up to seniors, as well as specia
l needs children. I love teaching, and I love seeing my students advance from week to week.

Please feel free to message me with any questions about designing a program to fit your goals, or with any questions about my teaching methods. I primarily use the Galamian method for violin students, and Karen Tuttle's methods for viola students, but modify and adapt as needed based on what fits each student best, and what they are learning.

Experienced and well rounded musician. Just graduated from New England Conservatory with Masters in Voice Performance. Performed recently as Cunegonde in Bernstein's Candide and Queen of the Night in Mozart's Magic Flute.

Also trained in violin (15 years) and piano (10 years), and have experience tutoring music theory and keyboard harmony at the undergrad level.

I love playing in orchestra and chamber ensembles, and will gladly play with you to work on listening and musicianship as well as technique and fundamentals. We can also work on playing by ear, and can address all different types of repertoire!

Lets start the road towards your musical growth and enjoyment in the way YOU work best!!

While we are at it, we can work on another instrument, music theory, or even an academic subject (check out my other subjects on my page!).

About Catherine
Hi! I'm Catherine. I'm passionate for anything music, math, or science, and I would love to work with you to help you accomplish your academic, musical, or personal goals!

A BIT ABOUT ME:

I have a BA in Chemistry and Music (voice and violin concentrations) with academic honors, and a Masters in Music from New England Conservatory (NEC). I have lab experience in Biochemistry, Physical Chemistry, and Astrochemistry at Rollins College, Georgia Tech and The University of Virginia.

I have taught and tutored keyboard harmony and music theory at the Undergrad level at NEC, and have tutored privately (math up to calculus, chemistry up to organic, writing).

WHAT I CAN DO FOR YOU:

Having trained in violin for 15 years, piano for 10, and voice for 8, I am ready to help you expand your skills with music lessons.

I am also ready t
o tutor you in music theory, math, chemistry, writing, and will take further requests!! (I can even do standardized tests like the SAT or ACT).

I can't wait to help you in the way that YOU learn best, and taper our lessons to what will help YOUR GROWTH. Going through school and lessons was not a breeze for me, and I was never one of those people who just “got” things right away. For me it took a diligent learning process, so I know what it's like to learn things from scratch, work with a tutor, ask questions, and make mistakes to achieve the best I can. I want to help you do the same!!

Let's schedule a trial lesson and go from there! Look forward to meeting you.

I have played violin for the past 18 years and received my Bachelor of Arts in Music at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. I am currently a graduate student at Boston University. I think the most important part of violin playing is having fun and enjoying what you do, so I really emphasize this in my teaching. I also think it is important that we use our bodies well and avoid playing related pain, so my teaching focuses on getting players into a comfortable position with their violin. I have taught all ages, and am great teaching in the beginning stages when everything feels new and difficult!

About Marial
I have been teaching violin for the past three years and have experience with a variety of different students. My own background is in classical music, but I also have done clinics and performances in jazz, mariachi, and fiddle. I like to cater to my students and find what music drives them, so I view lessons as a collaborative process between me and you!

I encourage students to not only spend time with their violin practicing, but to also find times away from the instrument that will enhance their playing. My teaching incorporates a lot of mental practice and strategies that make practice time as efficient as possible. This is especially helpful for students who may not have much time for practice in their schedules! Additionally, I am very cognizant of the toll violin can take on our bodies, so I focus a lot on positioning and musculo
skeletal health in my teaching. I have taken five years of Alexander Technique lessons (a movement awareness based therapy), and incorporate aspects of it into my teaching. This ensures a longer and healthier musical career, particularly for those who have prior injuries or those who are susceptible to playing-related pain.

If you have any questions about lessons, please feel free to contact me!

I took my first music lesson at age 67. I hate learning how to do things; I am easily frustrated. Jodi made me feel relaxed and secure from the first meeting. I enjoy both lessons and practice. She makes herself available for questions in between my weekly lessons and has even come to me to correct a problem with a string.
