Guitar is a passion of mine and I would love to help you to begin your journey to play guitar.

About Beckie
Hi!
My name is Beckie and I have played music for all of my life. I play and teach many different instruments such as the French horn, trumpet, piano, saxophone, mandolin, guitar, and voice.

In 2017, I graduated from UCLA with my Masters in Music on French horn. In 2010, I graduated from Chapman University with two degrees in music- music performance on French horn and music education.

My first job was as at a Montessori Academy elementary school, where I was the brass coach for 3 years. This is where I fell in love with teaching. I have been teaching privately for 15 years now and love the one-on-one attention that I can give the students.

I have worked with many great organizations like the Los Angeles Philharmonic and various music studios around Los Angeles.

I currently am a freelance musician, Elementary school music
teacher, brass coach for two local high schools and a private music teacher! I perform with orchestras and groups all around the Los Angeles area. I have performed in such wonderful venues as the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Sydney Opera house, in which I was able to premier a piece!

I look forward to working with you or your child in helping to start or continue a musical instrument!

*** Lesson Details ***
When I teach lessons, I like to check in with the student to see how their day was and how practicing throughout the week went. I am very patient and will teach at the student's pace. I expect the student to practice during the week, even if for just 10 minutes a day. I will always work with a student as long as it takes to have them understand what is difficult for them musically.

For music, I try to find free options but books may be a better option. When we choose a book to play out of, I like to choose a book together so that the parent and the child are happy about the selection. Books vary based on what the needs are for each student. Books are to be purchased by the parent.

I usually play my instruments with the students, but being a freelance musician, I may need to save my chops for an upcoming gig. Not always, but happens from time to time :)

I also have a 24-hour cancellation/lesson change policy. If you are late for your lesson, I will try to accommodate the time but may have students or rehearsals afterward so it will not always be a guarantee. If you are going to be late, please text me BEFORE the scheduled lesson. Lessons are to be every week as I DO NOT teach bi-weekly lessons.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Lesson space is in my home w/ seating for parents and music stand for students. I also have a cat and a dog, so if you are allergic, please let me know! The dog and the cat are put away for the lessons as to not distract either one of us! They are pretty cute!

*** Travel Equipment ***
I expect the student to provide the music books and their own instruments and music stand.

*** Specialties ***
I specialize in classical genres of playing but I am able to teach all different styles of music.

Outstanding instructor! Beckie is very positive and encouraging and my son has learned so much in just a few weeks. My son looks forward to his session each week. She is also an amazing musician herself and plays her instrument side by side with my son which allows him to hear and learn the individual notes.

The guitar is a versatile instrument, with a variety of styles ranging from acoustic pop to heavy rock guitar solos. My background in classical guitar as well as being a guitarist in rock bands allow me to introduce the guitar to a student in many different styles and techniques. Depending on what YOU, the student, want to learn and explore with the guitar..

About Daniel
Daniel is more than just a guitar teacher, his intimate kowledge of an array of instruments, makes his approach to teaching Guitar more immersive to the student without confusing them. His approach is simple and effective, allowing the student to feel comfortable in their abilities and safe in the teaching environment. Daniel’s passion for teaching as well as learning instruments allows him to connect to the student and get them excited to learn. Daniel’s background in various musical groups and organizations allows him to understand how students may feel the first day of teaching and how to relate the music to their age and goals. Daniel also understand the importance of breaks and stretching between practicing and lessons. Daniel not only teaches students how to play their pieces but how to properly relax hands and take mental breaks th
roughout the lessons and during practice. Daniel’s motto isn’t just to teach Guitar but to really involve the student in all aspects of learning guitar, getting the student to engage in the pieces, teaching them how to properly warm up before and after pieces, and how to stretch and approach difficult pieces by allowing mental breaks and keeping the environment light and fun.
Daniel has played saxophone from 7 th grade until college.
Daniel was in drum corps for 5 years, 1 year on trumpet, 4 years on euphonium.
Daniel taught himself both drum set and guitar during high school.
Daniel went to CSUN to major in Classical Guitar.

I have been an internationally touring guitarist for over ten years. In that time, I've played well over 1,000 shows and bring this experience to my students. I play most styles, both acoustic and electric, but have a particular focus on finger-style guitar. I am a very personalized teacher. I approach students as individuals and craft my lesson plans based on what excites them about music.

About Zak
I graduated with a BS in music from Skidmore College in 2002 and have been making my living as a professional musician ever since by touring internationally as a performer, making studio records, composing for film and television, and teaching. I am primarily a guitar player and a songwriter. I grew up playing drums and studied them well into college. I'm deeply influenced by the blues and country music, but I love anything that's good! I studied jazz and composition in school with a focus on improvisation. I wouldn't be half the musician I am today without the help of a few wonderful teachers. I think of them when I teach and do my best to inspire my students with the same joy and support that was offered to me.

I took guitar lessons with Zak for about 4 years and it was a great experience! I would pick a song to play, and as I learned the song he would teach me the scales that go with it. So I would learn the song and the music theory behind it, super cool. I also learned how to read sheet music from Zak. I enjoyed taking lessons from him!

All ages and abilities welcome! My lessons are tailored to the student's individual goals and learning styles. Though they are grounded practical musicianship, they emphasize creativity and self-expression above all else. My goal is to prepare students to function authentically and efficiently in their own musical lives as well as in musical groups. Alongside instrument instruction, I am more than happy to help you develop skills in songwriting and singing. I am a singer/songwriter down to the core and I want my students to love music as much as I do!

About Brittany
My name is Britt. I am a singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and visual artist. I love music with all my heart, and I want you to love it too! I have completed extensive coursework in music theory, history and performance and also have a dual bachelor's degree in studio art and cultural anthropology. I am a very patient artist, musician, acoustic guitar player and electric bass player. For guitar my lessons are a focus on chords and rhythm. Gypsy Jazz “le pompe” technique. Arpeggios and chord structure integration. Use of metronome to build and understand timing. How to read Chord charts and tablature. My lessons are great for a beginner to understand their instrument and how they can become an effective player in a band or ensemble. These lessons are great for all styles of music with a specialization in Gypsy Jazz.

About ALEXANDER
I have been playing music for 25 years.
During this time, I focused mainly electric bass and the Acoustic Guitar. I play rhythm guitar in a very busy World Fusion Flamenco Gypsy Jazz band, based in the SF Bay Area. I have learned a sure way to develop the building blocks for playing music. A way to practice and retain the information that you want to learn and quickly advance in your musical passion. I personally use these techniques and want to share them with you. Through patience and determination I will help you discover how to practice, develop technique and then enjoy and play music. I will answer your questions about your guitar from the simple to complex.
If you want to learn Gypsy Jazz, chords, rhythm and technique, how to play Blues, Rock, Funk or Reggae, or how to read chord charts and tablature, I want to help.
I am alwa
ys excited to work with beginners, so if you are very new to your instrument we can discuss the geography and mechanics of it as well. We will start with the basics then build upon ideas that will give you a holistic understanding of the guitar and how to play music.

"Practice makes perfect" but you need to know "what" and "how" to practice, too make the most of your time.

I would not say that it is easy to learn how to play music or play guitar but that it is completely worth the time that you devote to it.

Music, is a gift that will always give back, you give it to yourself and then share it with your friends and loved ones.
Music, you will have it for life.

Check out the music that I play.
