Featured in Rock N Roll Industries Magazine. Taught by Grammy nominated guitar player Sin Quirin. I started playing around age 15 and never gave up. I'm influenced by my idols, but I play many genres and cater to improve everyone's technique based on interest.

About Jason
TakeLessons.com Instructor since 2005, Jason M. is now available for online lessons worldwide featuring multiple-camera angles and a share screen experience leaving no stone un-turned!

Jason has been playing guitar for over 15 years and teaching music since 1996. Although trained in standard teaching methods, he has developed his own method of teaching to positively enhance the student€™s strength, dexterity, ear-training, memorization and techniques. His goal as a teacher is specifically designed to help you achieve your goals as an artist and a musician.

This year Jason was also the Music Director at the National Guitar Workshop Day Jams Rock Music Day Camp where students ages 7-15 came out to form bands, record original material and master their craft. He also taught beginning to advanced guitar/ vocals/ performance and songwri
ting as hosted a recording clinic at the end of each day.

Jason has host student showcases/charity benefits where his students were able to get on stage and show off their new talent and perform with other musicians. It wasn't mandatory though, if you were just looking to come out and support there was no pressure other than to come out and have fun.

Jason has been transcribing for guitar and bass since the age of 18 and since then has become a master of the craft including both 5 line staff and tablature, hand-crafted exercises and deconstructions to better enhance the students learning. Artists and genres that Jason has experience with range from Classic Rock, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Guns N' Roses, Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Robert Johnson, Pierce the Veil, Paramore, All Time Low, Demi Lava to, Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Pantera, Avenged Sevenfold, The White Stripes, Green Day, Old Crow Medicine Show, Taylor Swift, Mumford and Sons, Bruno Mars, Rob Zombie, John 5, Audioslave, Rage Against the Machine, Van Morrison, the Beatles, AC/DC, ZZ-Top, Bullet For My Valentine, All That Remains, Ozzy, Black Label Society, Sublime, Aerosmith, At the Drive In, Type O Negative, the Black Keys, the Pixies, the Toadies, Black Sabbath, Jason Mraz, Lady GaGa, John Mayer and Journey.

Jason attended the University of Alaska, Anchorage where his degree is in Music and Business. He is constantly continuing his education with music theory courses as well as private guitar instruction. He attends guitar workshops and seminars by artists such as John5 and Kerry King who are known as some of the worlds finest guitar players. He reviews every day from a wide range of over 1000 sources working to become a better musician and instructor.

Another nice feature that you might enjoy from one on one sessions with Jason is learning the ability to craft and record your own songs using state of the art technology that caters to your own unique personality. There are no limits!

Jason teaches all experience levels from beginner to intermediate and advanced as well as artists that are signed to labels.

Local news outlet Fox 5 did a segment with one of his students who overcame issues with ADD and depression as a result of taking guitar lessons.

His students advance quickly, some have released albums, been in Guitar World Magazine as well as its online companion and won awards for their music websites.

Lessons are scheduled to best fit to the student'€™s schedule when possible.

Jason is a remarkable teacher! He truly has been able to break through a mental block I've always had regarding thinking in chords rather than just reading notes. His desire to help the student reach a personal goal is so evident. Jason remained so confident that a 'light bulb' would come on that I started to believe it myself. He has put me on a good path now and did it with his confidence in me and by providing the right tools. Thank you for your patience, confidence in me, and your calm, pleasant way of teaching, Jason.

All of my students get a solid foundation of technique, note reading theory and hands on applications of all of these subject. They can also expect for me to tailor each individual lesson to their needs. For instance if a student likes jazz we can focus on that or if they like rock or R&B the focus will be on that particular style. Also we can't forget that the lessons must be fun and exciting for the student for the students to progress at a steady pace.

About Gene
I am a professional teacher/performer with over 20 year’s experience. I specialize in jazz guitar but have vast teaching and performing experience in all styles of popular music such as rock, blues, soul, r&b etc....
I am a composer/band leader and I also have many side man credits with some world renowned musicians on my resume. My CD "hypnotic" made the semi final round for 09-10 Grammys for best jazz instrumental CD. I also have 2CD's on the steeplechase label.
I believe that these experiences make me a teacher that can communicate with my students through my hands on knowledge and understanding of all aspects of music. Oh.... almost forgot.... I love teaching just as much as I love playing, because it gives me a chance to effect peoples peoples lives in a positive way.

It was truly a pleasure meeting Concetta for my first ever violin lesson. It is difficult to learn anything at the age 40, specially a musical instrument, but she made it comfortable and easy to understand. She's extremely patient a key quality when teaching a subject such a music to anyone. I would say, give her teaching style a try and you won't regret it. Very knowledgeable indeed.

I'm an enthusiastic guitar teacher with 4 years of experience. I'm looking forward to teaching beginning musicians of all ages! My teaching style is entirely student-oriented, and I adapt my material based on what you want to learn. I often use my music theory background as a supplement, and occasionally I will give handouts and homework. I am primarily experienced in worship music, but am flexible and diverse enough to cater to your interests. Students will need their own instrument and gear, and a notebook or binder.

About Dillon
Hello and welcome to my teacher profile! My name is Dillon S.

I am a music and art teacher, and I have earned my Associate's degree in Music Education at MDC with a focus on jazz guitar. I have a fairly diverse experience in different genres of music (primarily worship/church music, but also rock, pop, punk/metal, jazz and others). I have also sung and played guitar, drums, and bass in numerous bands throughout the years.

I have always had a deep love for art, and am currently working on my Bachelor of Science in K-12 Art Education. I have a particular interest in figure drawing/portraiture (charcoal, graphite, India ink), landscape and still life painting (acrylic and oil paint), and both digital and film photography.

I am hoping to improve my teaching skills through this platform and impart knowledge onto others. I am laid-back
and a kid at heart, and I find it important to teach with a sense of humor. For the record, I'm also a huge geek. I enjoy video games, superheroes, sci-fi, fantasy, animals (I myself have two cats), board games, cartoons/anime, technology/science... I also love traveling! If you're into something, feel free to talk to me about it, I love getting to know what you're passionate about!

Music is all about feeling. My teaching style is very much based around what makes you comfortable. While I know how important the fundamentals of music are, I also believe that we develop our own style and comfortability as we progress and build our skill. I focus on everything from the ground up. You can never ask too many questions, and I am here to help you find your musical identity! :)

About Layla
"Music is a higher revelation than all wisdom and philosophy" - Ludwig Van Beethoven.

Hey there! Thanks for stopping by my profile! My name is Layla - like the awesome Eric Clapton song :) I am an aussie residing in the big state of Texas and have been playing and teaching music for 10 years. When I was 12 years old, my parents bought me an electric guitar for my birthday. I learnt to play and I was lucky enough to have a talented brother who was learning the drums, so we were able to play together a lot and learn from each other. Jamming out to Nirvana in our upstairs bedroom was a very frequent occurrence – smells like teen spirit was the first song we learnt. This started the basis of the next 5 years of our musical careers. The first band I was in was called “ The Nobodies”, 3 teenagers playing cover gigs at pubs and clubs, learning
the ropes young, and I could never be more thankful for it. This band eventually changed names to “The River City Rumblers” and in the year of 2010 we appeared on national Australian Television on the show “Australia’s Got Talent”. It was really an amazing experience and exposed me to not only a huge audience, but the music industry itself. I continued to pursue my musical passions for years to come, this included teaching. I began teaching guitar to young students (around 8 years and up) with one on one lessons. I taught out of my home in the lounge room at first, then out of a studio that we eventually built. I also had the opportunity to teach young groups in a classroom environment at a local school. I would teach groups of 3-5 kids ranging from ages 6-12, split up into age groups. I moved around Australia a little to tried and break into the music industry, then moved back home, studied, until life brought me my husband and now I am in the USA. Somewhere along the line though, adulthood got in the way. I lost music for a while, and got caught up in the 9-5 jam. I have decided it is time to put my passion first. I absolutely adore teaching. It is so very rewarding to me and I hold it very dear to my heart. Combine it with music, and I am living the dream! I would love the chance to share that with you or whomever you may be reading this for. Thank you so much for your time and I look forward to meeting my future students!
