Darrell helped me a lot to get a handle on my Ableton rig. I needed to set up midi tracks, locate presets to create cool sounds from plugins. Then I needed to export the audio of a couple of those tracks to import into a separate Pro Tools project. Lot of progress, thanks Darrell! -- Frank S

Hi! I'm Ben and I have taught guitar to individual students and groups of students for over 10 years. I am an advanced-level guitarist who has studied guitar since middle school, and I've played in bands, national tours, and pit orchestras for musicals. I play in a variety of styles, from jazz to metal, from flamenco to classical, from rock to country. Let me work to find a pace and learning style that works for you, and you will be playing songs in no time!

About Benjamin

I am an English teacher who has taught in a variety of educational environments, from community college to high school. I love music and I have given guitar lessons for my whole career. I have also taught trumpet and drum lessons. I am excited to work with you and get you playing your favorite song

My goal as a teacher is to give you the facility to express yourself through music. The key parts to developing this facility are:

1. theory -- if you know your theory, you know the best way to express your idea without having to think about it
2. technique -- the last thing you want is for your technique to hinder your ability to express your idea. Having good technique lets your ideas flow naturally

When you take lessons with me, you get out of it what you put in. Your job as student is to be honest with what you expect to achieve and my job as teacher is to give you the tools to achieve it

About David

I am a bass player first, not a guitarist who also teaches bass. Students will learn technique, theory and groove from a teacher who understands that as bass players, we are in a unique position. Since bass is both a harmony and rhythm instrument we have the opportunity to develop into leaders in

David was very patient and thorough with the introductory lesson. He corrected some basic habits my son had and had him sounding better in 10 minutes.

He also had practical recommendations for daily practice.

I highly recommend David.

David went over basic music theory and rhythm with me, and corrected some technique issues. He explained things clearly and when we put some of it into practice in the final minutes I saw instant results. Absolutely excited to do my homework and for my next lesson.
Robert F.
As a beginning, self-taught bass player of four months, I wanted to find a teacher who could analyze and critique my playing. I scheduled five lessons with David over a time period of three months. David was instrumental in analyzing and critiquing bad techniques and habits I acquired. He very thoroughly emphasized proper fretting technique and finger positioning; exercises were given that helped me obtain full tonal quality and efficient fretboard navigation skills. We also reviewed basic theory, scale modes, rhythmic weight, pentatonics and arpeggios; seminal knowledge for the beginner.

A technical type player, David has excellent playing skills as well as a comprehensive knowledge of theory and its practical application. He is a good listener and showed a genuine interest in helping me achieve my goals. I definitely can see an improvement in my playing skills....playing more confidently and efficiently.

Highly recommended.......

Jerry is a wonderful instructor. I wasn’t sure how online lessons would go but they have been seamless and fun and my son is making progress with the bugle. I would highly recommend this format and this teacher. The convenience and quality of instruction are excellent. We are signing up for more lessons and may move on to another instrument once my son feels confident on the bugle.

"Phenomenal & Friendly Instructor

Tim is a phenomenal instructor! I have tried expensive videos by Marty Schwartz, subscription services like JamPlay.com, and have spent hundreds of dollars on Skype lessons with popular YouTube instructors like Mike Gross. In the year that I have been playing, one month of lessons with Tim did more for my playing than 11 months with the other methods I've tried. You owe it to yourself to give Tim a month of your time. He transformed my understanding of the guitar, has taught me to be self-sufficient with learning songs I hear, and has made playing exciting. Without being able to articulate exactly what I wanted to accomplish, Tim's uncanny intuition for balancing what I think I needed with what I really need took my playing to the next level very quickly. Nothing can substitute the depth of his musical knowledge, but more importantly, his keen sense of feeding me just what I need from everything he knows. Tim carefully plans out a lesson for me based off of my progress, has me take notes, and gives me ideas on how to improve before my next lesson. The most exciting day of my week is the hour I spend learning from a great instructor and a great human being. I couldn't be happier with my decision to learn how to play from Tim."

"As I became interested in the idea of learning how to play guitar I started out and made it clear that I had absolutely no knowledge of anything regarding anything. I had the dreadful thought that I would become quickly disinterested since I had nightmares of having to play Mary had a little lamb for a month or make next to no progress in my lessons. After my first lesson I was completely wrong. Chase's ethic and method as a teacher highly impressed me as a student since he doesn't really have a lesson plan but builds one around you as an individual. He has visual representations that he gives with each new thing that way if you're like me where forgetting is a terrible curse bestowed upon you, you can refer back to it by looking at the paper things and the comments/scribbles he would make in areas you needed to put more attention towards. After each lesson Chase had the ability to shove an immense amount of knowledge in 30 minutes rather than a whole week for what I would think would be the average teacher, not only was he teaching me how to strum a chord or barre a pattern but in between he would give me detailed explanations on why each group sounds good together or why the sounds gives us a type of emotion when played as only a few examples. All in all I was never bored in any topic we decided to address that day. That was a fun part, was that each day it was something new and he taught you not what he felt like teaching but where you were as a student, if you were progressing in some areas that allowed you to move on but still need more practice on something else he wouldn't have you stay in one spot until you perfected it, he would help you with the area that was troublesome and teach you a new topic if you felt ready. Chase never rushes which was highly appreciated since learning an instrument can cause frustration which could lead to a feeling of hopelessness and eventually discouragement. THIS LEADS TO ANOTHER NOTE!! HIS PATIENCE IS HIS GREATEST QUALITY!! I can't recall how many times I had instances where I would've slapped myself acros the face for being incompetent and unteachable or just a hopeless cretin LOL. He never gets annoyed or impatient and on the contrary encourages you to make mistakes since they eventually allow you to form new techniques. That attitude is also what made his improvisation lesson such a confidence booster since instead of creating a planned session, he gives you scales to practice so that when improv time comes around you can make your own little pattern on the spot and not have to worry whether you suck or not. The point was to play in the moment and disregard any thought of your mess ups or how bad you sound, eventually these sessions became easier since you forget about judgement. His flexibility schedule wise was also awesome, as a high schooler with a part/full time job there were occasions where I was forced to change our designated day for the week due to some ridiculous excuse my sucky coworkers had, so it's very appreciated how willing he is to work with your personal life. IN CONCLUSION SINCE I FEEL LIKE I'M TYPING A NOVEL I would highly recommend anyone to allow chase to be their private instructor his personality is great, his ethics are great, and his entire being is great."

"Joseph was able to instruct me on jazz music which was new to me. He was very patient in getting me to play chords that I never did before and to do progressions up and down the neck of the guitar.
