I truly believe anyone can play guitar as long as we set a plan to the goals. I set my lessons to where the student want to go. If it’s the chords, song structure or new skills. This is my goal for all of my students.

If you or someone in your family would like to learn to play the guitar, I have had years of experience and would love to assist. I teach using a note reading approach as well as a finger strumming technique that I believe is the best way to approach learning the guitar. Let's get started today!

I am a former classroom music teacher, with an MA in Music Education, and I have been a working musician/recording artist for 30 years. I am patient and experienced in getting results. I believe the recipe for music education is Knowledge, Practice, and Fun = Joy. Spreading joy is a valuable service for good community.

I can help every student achieve his or her goals, whether it's to lead a campfire circle or play Carnegie Hall someday. (One of my students opened for B.B. King, and most of my students will play music for the rest of their lives. Some have grown to lead their own bands.)
I offer lessons in:
Guitar: All styles: Beginner to Advanced.
Piano, voice, ukulele, saxophone, and recording: Beginner to Intermediate.

Guitar is my main squeeze. I love to help people enjoy the instrument as much as I do. learn to shred a rock solo, fingerpick a folk song, or transcribe miles davis. learn to play what you hear on records without resorting to you tube instructional videos (wink). or if you are already an accomplished musician, enhance your ability to employ techniques like chord weaving on the guitar, craft better solos, write more sophisticated chord progressions, etc

Kevin J. has been writing, recording, and playing music for over 25 years. Music is meant to be fun and it is his goal to help others enjoy music. He has been a teacher for 11 years and has composed hundreds of songs. He is passionate about teaching his students the songs they want to learn, no matter the difficulty. He specialized in guitar, drums, and song writing. Kevin has a great way of encouraging others to keep going no matter what challenge is in front of them.

The 75 minute session is to pay for a group jam.

-I cater my learning process based on the student's age, thier level on the instrument, and their specific goals in regards to the genre they wish to become proficient in. For example, if a student wants to learn how to play nothing but classic rock songs, I will put all my energy into helping them practice to achieve that goal in the fastest time possible. There is no need for them to have a deep understanding of harmony and theory. By the same token, if someone just wants to get very familiar with fretboard knowledge and play all their scales effortlessly across the neck, I won't waste any time teaching them riffs and songs. Whatever your goal, I can help you attain it.
