I've been teaching ukulele for 4 years helping students develop a love for the instrument and learn more about music along the way. Ukulele is a great instrument for an introduction into stringed instruments and as a casual pastime, but when pursued seriously can be as rigorous as any other. Within the first few lessons you'll have a solid base of strumming patterns and chord changes and even a few simple songs under your belt. Moving on from there I will craft lessons to move you toward a "goal song," making sure to cater your progress to your needs while keeping a focus on good technique. I enjoy working with students of all ages and experiences and I can't wait to meet you!

About Ryan

Ryan is a musician from Logan Square who plays a plethora of different instruments. He specializes in guitar, banjo, mandolin and ukulele, but also dabbles in accordion, piano, drums, harmonica and several others. Learning to play instruments is one of the true pleasures in his life and he hopes he

I try to teach in a way that best fits the student's needs. I really enjoy the "learning process" and love helping students find out how they learn best. Also, I make a point to have students progress in a natural way that allows them to be making music at every stage along the way.

Ukulele is an interesting instrument with a lot of similar characteristics to guitar. I have been playing ukulele for the past year now and it's substantially easier to play and faster to learn then guitar, but you can develop skills that will transfer over to the guitar.

About Jeremie

I'm a self taught guitarist who has been playing for 20 years. I have played professionally in numerous bands and ensembles ranging from jazz to folk to rock, and I've been writing music for the same length of time. I currently perform with one of my students from TakeLessons named Mackenzie O'Brie

Oh boy, do I love the Ukulele! This instrument is FUN. I became passionate about the ukulele a few years ago. This instrument is fun. We will learn our chords, learn a lot of unique strumming patters and work on our rhythm. We will also learn how to take some classic rock and roll guitar songs and turn them into happy-go-lucky-uke tunes!
This instrument is PERFECT for beginners - adults and children!

About Rachel

I started my musical path in a Ballet Studio. I fell in love with the crackle of the vinyl record playing as I learned to listen and dance with the rhythm. I started playing the guitar when I was in elementary and took classical lessons until I was a teenager.I really enjoy the art of practice

Carolyn is a wonderful teacher! Our 9-year-old daughter has been taking ukulele lessons (online) with her for a few weeks now. She came to LOVE her lessons, and has already made a lot of progress. Carolyn is an accomplished musician and singer (beautiful voice!!), yet she has no problem taking a beginner's perspective and explaining things in a clear, simple, kid-friendly way. She is fun and easy-going, and also incredibly patient. Overall, great experience!

Maria was teaching my daughter opera, she learned a lot and we'll seek her out again to continue. She is an expert in her field. My daughter loved her and everyone she encountered in the music industry wanted to learn how she learned this and how she learned that when we told them they said she had a good teacher. "FIRST LESSON was a great experience. Although my 12-year old son was hesitant about Ukulele lessons, he immediately felt relaxed with David. Of notable qualities...David was professional, very patient, redirected my son when he got off track, boosted his self-esteem with words of encouragement, and took the time to answer any questions my son had after the lesson was over. My son left excited and looks forward to his next lesson."

Vivian has been patient, encouraging and committed to helping her to not only learn the fundamentals but to guide her to grow in her knowledge of music theory and practicality of music making. My daughter's interest in music, and more broadly, her sense of the value of dedication and discipline have been positively impacted from being taught by Vivian.
