About Farobag
A double graduate of the Eastman School of Music and the University of Rochester, Farobag studied under Anastasia Jempelis, a pioneer of Suzuki violin pedagogy in the United States. In addition to the Suzuki curriculum, he is also associated with the Royal Conservatory Music Devel
Befitting his penchant for encouraging artistic interest amongst younger members of his community, Farobag is also the principal conductor of the Zoroastrian Symphony Orchestra that offers a unique mixture of young and seasoned professionals sitting side-by-side in a strictly professional setting. Since the year 2000, the ZSO has staged highly successful performances at various venues in Houston, Chicago, and Toronto. A New Year's eve performance in Los Angeles is scheduled for 2014.
Having also taken graduate-level coursework in educational psychology, mathematics, and philosophy at the University of Chicago, Farobag offers tutelage in various areas of elementary and secondary education as well as in SAT, ACT and GRE test preparation.
Additionally, as a certified Reiki Master, therapeutic and/or educational sessions are also extended to those who may be inclined to alternative healing techniques.

Sheer technique is necessary but insufficient to play an instrument well. Aural skills, that include the study of functional tonality and voice-leading are important factors that impart musicality. This is of great import if the prospective musician wants the audience to truly enjoy his or her performance !
Whether it be the 3 Rs or preparation in the performing arts, a remarkable instructor must go well beyond the subject matter at hand and help imbue the student with a spirit of wonder that, in due time, will foster enthusiasm necessary for excellence.
A child emulates and learns to communicate in his or her mother-tongue through a supporting and nurturing environment. Likewise, a student needs to be sufficiently motivated to embrace learning in a familiar supportive manner.
*** Studio Equipment ***
The In-Studio lesson take place in the living room. Driveway parking. No pets.

"Experienced violin teacher of 29 years available for eager students of all experience levels and ages! I structure my lessons so students learn what they want to learn, while also building a strong foundation of classical violin skills. I specialize in Suzuki , and fiddle Celtic music etc...,
About Kelvin
I am very comfortable with all aspects of the current music syllabus, including teaching musical concepts (such as duration, pitch, dynamics, tone color, texture and structure) as well as performance, composition. I am fully qualified, with a Bachelor of Education in Music, Double Masters in music performance and education from University of Nottingham.
I am proficient in classical, jazz and Celtic fiddle violin and possess solid skills in piano (grade 8-13) Royal conservatory system.
Throughout my teaching career, I have been driven to help students achieve their very best. I str
The most important thing I look for in a student is communication skills, as well as talent. I like to nurture students and help identify their individual strengths, which is a key factor in shaping a musical persona that will make its mark both on and offstage. I do not advocate a uniform technique for all students. Physical differences and learning styles are always taken into consideration. Potential is as important to me as early achievements and experience. My goal is to help students become self-sufficient, discriminating artists. I discuss practice techniques often and develop individualized scale routines. I encourage initiative and expressive musicality as well as precision. Above all, music needs to bring obvious joy to the student, regardless of the difficulties.”

In my 10+ years of teaching violin to hundreds of students, I've always believed in nurturing a love for playing the instrument and that the best practicing stems from passion and playfulness. Before moving to NYC, I kept a full teaching studio in Santa Monica, CA and helped start several youth music programs. I approach all levels with a hybrid of traditional and modern methods and an emphasis on technical proficiency through improvisation and creativity.
About Javier
Besides being passionate about teaching, I'm a professional touring and recording violinist. I'm proud to say that my students have won top awards (Topanga Fiddle Competition, Royal Conservatory Music Development Program) and placed in some of the top youth orchestras in the country. I maintained a studio of 20-30 students for many years in Los Angeles at the SOL-LA Music Academy, before recently moving to NYC.

CloseI'm the current student at Roosevelt University, studying Performance Diploma in Violin, and also I'm had Bachelor Degree in Piano. Teaching in Chinese and English is ok.
I still keep practicing by myself that I will know what the student would have trouble. Whether the student want to play with interesting or professional, we can figure out our own tempo to learn the music.

Elizabeth made playing very relaxing. Her approach is just to attack the material without any hesitations. And if you make a mistake, just do it again. She let me pick out the repertoire, which made me excited to play, and offered great recommendations on material that would help my playing. Sometimes I was too ambitious and she'd be the first to point out that maybe I wasn't ready for a piece just yet. Then she'd recommend something else that would help me get there.
Elizabeth teaches from her home and it's pretty easy to get to by train, bus, or car."
