Being able to create music is an integral part of the human condition as it helps us express and understand an exceedingly wide range of human emotion. Teaching how to do it has therefore always been my greatest passion and having been privileged with the guidance of great pedagogues in the past, it is my ambition to pass that invaluable knowledge and skill on to aspiring musicians. I am certain that every person (no matter what age) has vast potential and it is my duty as a teacher to extract those talents and nurture creativity. Guiding students to find a deeper understanding of themselves and their relationship to music will encourage them to not only be exceptional artists, but also human beings. I've taught ages 3 to 35, beginner to undergraduate collegiate level. I can develop your left hand, bow technique, and musicality to the point that you will sound better when you leave a lesson than when you arrive every single time. I will inspire a love for the instrument that will carry through the week with you.

Experienced teacher specializing in the beginner/intermediate piano student! All ages welcome. Lessons are customized and catered to the needs/goals of each student. I studied violin from the age of 9 (long time ago). I studied mainly privately but constantly in competitions with scholarships to brevard music center in N.C. and governors school for the arts held at Furman university.
Obtained a music scholarship and minor in fine arts with a major in education.
I have taught many subjects including private violin lessons.
Classical, hymns, Gospel, pop and romance are genres I am familiar.
I have over 25 years as in education.

Fun lessons but also challenging
- I believes that fun lessons are easy to gain young student interest, but it often lack to give them motivation. In the lessons, I often challenge my students, let them be self-motivated and become a better musician.

Techniques
- I focus my lessons on teaching proper techniques with their instruments. With my experiences in taking lessons from American, Chinese, and Russian teachers, I learnt a great spectrum of techniques and like to teach what I had learn.

Learning pieces and other related topics
- Playing pieces and songs is only a small piece of playing an instrument. In lessons, I also teach proper music theory, and ear-training.

In your lessons with me, you will first learn proper set-up and technique, and we will mainly work from the Suzuki method books. Additionally, I will provide you with various scales, exercises, and "fun pieces" as you progress. I wholeheartedly believe that learning the violin should be enjoyable, and not a chore.
