I tried to teach guitar in the same manner in which I teach every instrument. First I teach students the rudiments of the instrument. Also I teach them how to read and a bit of music theory. From that point I like to follow the students lead. They bring in songs that they would like to learn, or possibly how to play lead guitar, or how to finger pick. At every point I try to point out general aspects of music that need to be learned from the material that they choose.

Are you interested in being able to confidently play lead and rhythm parts in a band? Want to learn to write songs? Want to learn to just strum along to your favorite records by yourself?
I will teach you or your child all of the knowledge and tools needed to do whatever your dream is on your instrument. My aim is to help every student achieve their personal goals on their instrument within the context of a relaxed and patient environment that promotes a love of music!
I achieve this by:
1) Individualizing lesson plans so that each student stays engaged and learns in the style that is best for them as learners.
2) Ensuring that students learn BOTH how to play their instrument as well as the theory behind what they are playing. This creates a more well-rounded musician that is capable of problem solving on their instrument and being able to play in a variety of settings.
I have been playing music for over 10 years and teaching private lessons since 2014. I ...

jeff S. is an excellent guitar teacher, ive had him as a teacher for about a year maybe even longer and the only reason i stopped was because my financial situation took a downfall , but if i still had the money id be seeing him as much as i could . i would leave his class extremely happy knowing i could go home and finally play guitar if it werent for him id probably have hung up my baby(my guitar) a long time ago . he made things really easy to understand ,he had great patience for me when i couldnt get a lick/riff down instantly and he always broke things down to a level where my mind would just absorb the information. i highly reccommend him for anyone who wants to learn guitar in a fun and productive way"
