We will go through the Hal Leonard Ukulele method to get a good foundation on the instrument. Once the basics are learned, the real fun begins! We will learn any songs that you are interested in and discover what the instrument can do together.

All levels, variety of styles

The ukulele is a fun instrument to play! Steven B is one of the best instructors out there. He teaches in students’ homes across the United States as easily as in the Coronado Music Studio. He combines methods of teaching sight reading, playing by ear, and improvisation. He teaches many styles of music, pop, rock as well as ethnic music genres. Teaching all the fundamentals of technique in ukulele for correct hand positions, fingering, and position.

I have been teaching ukulele since 2014. I teach in a therapeutic style, using my music therapy training to be as observant, adaptive and flexible as I need to be for the student's benefit. I teach at the student's pace and to their interests, while building their musicality, music theory, and performance skills. I often incorporate singing into ukulele lessons as well. 1-2 times a year, we work towards building a repertoire of 1-4 pieces (depending on the student) to play at a local assisted living facility or skilled nursing facility.
