I have been teaching children of all age groups to acquire a solid foundation in violin playing. Whether it be pre-K beginners, or high school students getting ready for college auditions, I will communicate with the students and parents to set a number of goals to achieve.
I also welcome adult students, beginners and amateur enthusiasts alike.

In addition to gaining expertise in the techniques in violin playing, students in my studio will be given opportunities to gain comprehensive music knowledge including theory, sight singing, ear training, and any relevant music history, as the above-mentioned knowledge are indispensable elements in violin playing. Singing and clapping are essential parts of the lesson. When students are equipped with the basics, they can play anything and make the music they want.

Violin is my primary instrument I can teach violin students from the very beginning to the college level. I will happily work on any style of violin music with you!

I am a string specialist. That means I teach and play violin, viola, cello, double bass, guitar, bass guitar, mandolin, ukulele and piano. I earned B.A. earned from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley Colorado where I was a double major in classical guitar and double bass. In my senior year I was the recipient of the Annual Concerto Contest where I performed the "Concerto in A Major" on double bass with the University orchestra for the spring concert. I have played in both professional and semi-professional orchestras in Colorado and Arizona. I believe that any student will practice more if he or she likes the music they are playing. Periodically I will ask a student to give me a name of a piece of music that they would like to learn how to play. I notate it for them, often simplifying the rhythm and chords in Finale NotePad and give it to them free of charge. I teach students how to play music on their given instrument. I have over 10 years of teaching experience and teach beginning to intermediate violin lessons. Violin was the first instrument I learned to play and I especially enjoy working with beginning string players. Developing a good ear for pitches and proper playing technique are extremely important for violinists and I focus on these areas foremost. Each lesson is customized for the student’s age, interest, and technical level.

My name is Maggie, I recently earned my Master’s degree in string performance at Boston University. I have won many prizes as a soloist. I have performed in the world’s most celebrated concert venues, including Carnegie Hall, Wiener Musikverein, Boston Symphony Hall, and the Berlin Philharmonie. As an orchestra musician, I have been playing for 10 years. I have been working as a music teacher for 11 years. I have taught violin, viola and beginner piano lessons. I love developing students love for music. I greatly enjoy teaching music students and sharing my love for music with them.
Because of my experiences and education, I am able to assess easily what each student needs and how to help them achieve their goals.
