My goal is to help you create a beautiful music by focusing on the foundations of tone, techniques, and practice. Beginners will learn to read music and develop good tone and rhythm. Intermediates will work on tone, vibrato, technique, and expression. At each lesson, I will show you what you need to do and give you the responsibility of practicing at home. You will also work on bowing/finger exercises, music activities, and improvisation so you can play along with any piece of music.

About Estela
Hello! My name is Estela, and I've been teaching private lessons since 2001. I enjoy helping students create beautiful music, develop good techniques, and play along with any song through improvisation. I have played violin for over 22 years including orchestras, string ensembles, church worship bands, and weddings and special occasions.

I have an undergraduate degree in psychology with a minor in violin from Louisiana State University and a master's degree in education from the University of Texas at Austin. I have also worked for 6 years as an ESL teacher and am very patient with new learners, immigrants/foreigners, and kids.

Dr. Spranza is one of the best piano teachers in the Bay Area. My two daughters take weekly lessons with her. She encourages them and empowers them to do their best. She teaches them both theory and practicals. They have participated in an informal recital and are now registered to take part in the MTAC Certificate of Merit program.

As parents, we see a big improvement in our daughters' piano playing skills. They even practice on their own, without us telling them to. All thanks to Dr. Spranza.

I've been teaching violin for 11 years and my students have gone on to play with different ensembles. Within the first few lessons, you'll be able to play simple songs by reading and by ear and as time goes on you'll be able to play more complex repertoire. I specialize in classical, style but I can teach you different kinds of styles, typically use the Suzuki repertoire but I use a variety of method and books. I have the following tools available for your lessons: violin, computer program, sound system, Tuner and Metronome . I love working with students of all ages and experience levels and I can't wait to meet you!

About Maria
With more than 30 years of teaching experience for the cello, I have taught students of all ages, throughout California and overseas. I earned a Bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Cello Performance and am currently the Principal cellist for the Camellia Symphony, California. In addition, I am teaching all levels of cello and beginner violin lessons to my students in Folsom, Napa and Sacramento.

My professional performing experience began in Medellin, Colombia in 1985 with the Medellin Philharmonic Orchestra where I was their Soloist beginning in 1992 and later on, as First Cello, from 1998-2002.

While in Colombia, I also performed with the Antioquia Symphonic Orchestra and the Antioquia Chamber Orchestra from 1991-1999.

I left my hometown of Medellin to come to the United States where I performed with the
Texas Christian University Orchestra in Fort Worth, Texas in 2000. Returning to Medellin, I spent the next year with the Eafit Symphonic Orchestra.

Finally, I settled in Sacramento in 2003, coming here to earn my Master's Degree in Cello Performance while performing throughout the next year with the California State University, Sacramento Symphony.

In Sacramento, I have also performed with the Sacramento Metropolitan Orchestra and with several other chamber groups.

At this time, I am teaching all levels of cello and beginner violin. My students range in age from six to seventy years and enjoy learning in a relaxing environment at their own pace.

I incorporate several different teaching styles to meet each students' individual needs and abilities.

Have you been playing for a long time, or have you never picked up the instrument before? Whether you are a child or an adult, I have a style of teaching for you. I've been playing since I was a child and have a special place in my heart for the is instrument. I actually began learning from a fiddle player and trained classically later. If you want to learn how to succeed in playing this rewarding and satisfying style, this is the place for you.
Are wondering why every time you hit a certain note, it squeaks, or crunches, or sounds glassy? Or maybe you can't quite read the notes. Perhaps you are no stranger to the instrument, but need improvement of musicianship, expression, etc. Let me help you master the skills you're trying to achieve. With my help, you can make breathtaking music!

About Kimberly
I grew up in a household of 9 where music was always center stage. We would sing as a family in different venues and were often called the VonTrapp family. I have enjoyed singing and performing from a young age. I began studying flute at age 8, after scoring highest in the harmony listening exam and began formal violin lessons at the age of 9. I studied all genres including, fiddle, classical, musical theater and 20th century. I have continued to study violin since then and have performed in many orchestras and small groups, such as Honor Orchestra, the Paradise Symphony, the Yuba College Orchestra, Yuba-Sutter Oratorio Society Orchestra and more. I have been concert master and first stand in many of these. I have also soloed in many and have been the first violinist in quartets for countless weddings and other events. I have also played
in numerous pit orchestras for musicals.
I have been in choirs and soloing since I can remember. I have performed and soloed in choirs such as the Yuba-Sutter Oratorio Society, CSUS Chamber Choir, the CSUS Women's Choir and more. I have toured to Victoria, Montreal, Ottowa, Oregon and Washington. I have also been in opera productions such as The Magic Flute, Peleas and Melisande and Die Fledermaus (The Bat) with CSUS Opera. I am a recent recipient of the Saturday Club Scholarship, a prestigious award, and have won many competitions (some repeatedly) both vocally and with violin, such as the Tri-County Competition, Young Artist Competitions, and the California Soloist and Ensemble Competitions. Additionally, I have performed musical theater repertoire and have performed as lead in musicals such as Beauty and the Beast and Into the Woods. I have also soloed repeatedly with the Yuba College jazz band and at churches all around.
I have earned my Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from CSU Sacramento. I have my Associates Degrees in both Music and Early Childhood Education from Yuba College. Additionally, I have obtained my certificate of completion of training from Music Together, an organization which trains teachers to teach Basic Music Competence (both in tonality and meter), and am currently teaching this curriculum.
I have been teaching music privately for over ten years to all ages, genders and abilities. Additionally, I have taught ages 0-5 years in a preschool setting for 7 years and am extremely familiar with developmentally appropriate practices for both preschool and school age, as I am a site supervisor at a child development center with a preschool and after school program. I have had many adult students as well and encourage adults to enrich their lives with music at any age! Additionally, I have experience teaching parent child classes and am familiar with how to teach to the particular needs of each family and student.
I'm extremely excited and looking forward to growing as a professional, both teaching and performing, in both the areas of violin and voice and to be instrumental in your musical growth too; I can't wait to share my passion with you and to ignite your passion for music too!

*** Lesson Details ***
I have been teaching since 2002 and have loved every minute of it! I teach all ages. I tailor my style of teaching to each student's goals and to what works for you. If you want to learn Taylor Swift music, I won't be giving you arias. On the other hand, if you wish to study classically, I have repertoire appropriate for you. I teach fiddle, classical, orchestral, 20th century and more for violin students and have experience with jazz, classical, musical theater, pop, religious, spiritual, choral, 20th century and more vocally.
For violin students, I use the Suzuki method as a pushing off point, a tried and true method used in many countries across the world, though I have other repertoire including fiddle, orchestra, small ensemble, solo, concertos, Christmas, and more. For vocalist, I start with the book, Adventures in Singing. I also have warm ups and exercises to keep you vocally healthy. I will teach you anything you want to learn! I also teach how to read music, theory and harmony, depending on your interest and tailored to your current skill level.
I am encouraging and knowledgeable. I will meet you at your current level, be that beginner, intermediate, or advanced. My students can look forward to being encouraged and growing through their time with me. I don't have preset ideas about where you should be in 3-6 months, nor do I have a one size fits all teaching style. Instead, I will work with you individually so that you will become the best musician you can be, meet your goals, and increase your enjoyment and appreciation for music.

*** Studio Equipment ***
Lessons in open space, upright piano, digital piano, music stands, metronome, violins available for rent, music, staff paper and computer

*** Travel Equipment ***
I expect my students to provide the instrument with all of it's accessories (ie shoulder rest, rosin, bow and case) along with the appropriate level Suzuki book. I have instruments available for rent. My voice students should bring their own music also. I have a piano in my studio along with music stands. Of course, every student must have a pencil and come ready to have fun learning! :)

*** Specialties ***
Suzuki, solfege, art songs and arias, reading music, fiddle, classical, healthy vocal technique and musical theater. I am very good at working with any age.

His lessons are totally based on individual needs, abilities and long term goals. Ardalan believes that learning process for every individual is different and it is teacher's job to recognize the needs of his or her students and find instant solutions to student's problems. He gives so many performance opportunities to his students throughout the community. this can help them to combine their skills with experiences and use them for their future. for beginners he fundamentally use SUZUKI STYLE and also his own personal style of teaching. He gives an specific syllabus to his students about the materials needed to be learned in each level of violin performance. also this gives them a very clear clue about what is expected to be mastered in each level. so this way students can feel success and see the bright path to proficiency in Violin. for intermediate levels he usually uses kaiser etudes, sonatas and concertos which are recommended for this level. in the advanced level, students start to learn Bach sonatas and partitas, plus working on valuable etude books like Kruetzer or Rode, also concertos will be offered to students based on their skills and level of advancement in this level of teaching.

My students can always expect their first lesson to start with an assessment of their abilities. After I determine my student's level, we establish a goal & I create a personalized lesson plan for each student. Each week I go over what we had previously learned and then start on something new. I send my students home with a detailed practice log and short videos to make sure they are practicing the correct way. Each month I give my students an assessment on both performance & music theory.

About Maurissa
Missy Jones (AKA Maurissa Jones) has been playing professionally since she was 16 years old. She started with the violin when she was in the fifth grade and expanded her musical knowledge to other instruments such as bass, guitar, piano, and drums once she got into high school.

In her freshman year of high school she joined her first band, Darkhorse, and played bass with them in American Legions, Moose lodges, and VFW Halls.

Once she gained the necessary experience playing live, she was hired by many other bands. Soon she was playing professionally with multiple bands at a time.

Teaching being her passion, she began giving music lessons to her classmates. It didn't take long before she was teaching the children of family friends and fellow church goers. And now, with many years of teaching experience, she is playing and teaching
music full time.

Every student is unique and through my teaching I aim to treat each one as the individual they are. I work with students to help them achieve their goals while also giving them technical command of the instrument. The focus of lessons is on achieving mastery through studying the foundational elements (rhythm, intonation, tone production) in order to perform with musical expression and freedom.

Andrew is an extremely knowledgeable and talented teacher. He explains technique exceptionally well, has an impressive understanding of phrasing and musicality while playing, and is very patient and understanding, he has a great sense of humor, while also giving students the right amount of push they need. He has high expectations but they are always attainable for his students, and he is very flexible with each students unique needs. I highly recommend him as an instructor, he is worth every penny and students always see quick and impressive improvement; I know I did while I studied with him.
