I understand it's easy to lose drive when you're constantly drilling scales and fingering. I try to frame all of my lessons in reference to what music really is: the creation of songs. Through composition, my students won't just learn scale and chord structure, but they'll organically develop these skills while writing their own songs and building their personal portfolio.
About Peter
Over the past 10 years, I've worked as a professional touring musician (singer, guitarist, pianist) for the rock band, Inside Switch. I studied piano at the Dallas, Texas School of Music. I also attended the James Madison University music program. I have played piano for 20 years and guitar for 15.

- THE METRONOME IS SO IMPORTANT
- The voice guides the guitar if you’re more of a singer
- Repetition is key
- Practice songs that aren’t in your style to ease your way into guitar
- The power resides in strumming rhythmically
- Focus is more difficult that it seems when combining singing and guitar
- Guitar is an art in itself and itself you shouldn’t master guitar, you should be it’s friend.
- Open mics and video content are the key to more success as they expose you to criticism (good or bad)
Again, the guitar is your companion.
For any aspiring musician or any musician that needs guidance and improvement on the guitar, Peter is a great teacher.

My goal as a teacher is to give you the facility to express yourself through music. The key parts to developing this facility are:
1. theory -- if you know your theory, you know the best way to express your idea without having to think about it
2. technique -- the last thing you want is for your technique to hinder your ability to express your idea. Having good technique lets your ideas flow naturally
When you take lessons with me, you get out of it what you put in. Your job as student is to be honest with what you expect to achieve and my job as teacher is to give you the tools to achieve it
About David
I have been playing music almost my entire life. I first started on trombone in 4th grade then switched to guitar in 6th. I picked up the electric bass in my later teenage years and learned the upright bass (both jazz and classical) in college. My students get the benefit of my education, as wel

Music has been my passion since I was 10 years old. I didn't have any real instruments at first, so, I built my own out of coffee cans, ice cream containers and of course: a rubber band shoebox guitar! It might sound funny, but, I believe these early days of trying to create music using my "homemade symphony," forced me to really get to the core of sound and expression without the pre-set curriculum of traditional music study. Early on, I learned a few fundamental concepts of music theory that would forever change how I learned, as well as how I taught music to others. I believe these concepts set a foundation that allowed me to understand music and grow much faster - including learning multiple instruments.
And yes, I eventually acquired a real guitar and went on to study music and computers at the University of California and I currently compose music for TV and film in my own studio. I have taught guitar, bass, piano, drums, theory, composition and recording production to ...
About Peter
I currently compose music for TV, film and other digital media in my own recording studio. Prior to that, I spent about 25 years playing guitar, piano, bass and drums in bands and as a studio musician. At school I studied classical music (theory and composition) as well as orchestration and compute

After several years of off and on self study I decided it was time to take instructor led lessons and Nathanial turned out to be a great teacher. He was willing to make use of the materials I already had. I really neede some work on my right hand technique, but it turned out that I was also strangling the guitar neck with my left hand. He really helped me lighten up my technique for both left and right hands which made playing and practicing much more enjoyable."

Edward has been very professional and a very good teacher for my 7 year old son, who started little over an year ago. We never had any problems with the timings or other issues. Ourselves never been into music, it is hard to judge a music teacher, but as of now we have been very satisfied with our son's progress."

I had been playing Guitar with zero musical training and zero knowledge of theory for about a year and a half prior to being taught by Francesca. I've only been to lessons once a week for a few months and my dexterity as Well as my knowledge of theory has been vastly improved. The laid back environment coupled with Francesca's great communication skills make learning comfortable and easy. The experience is always focused on bettering your playing and you as a musician. There is never fear of embarrasment from messing up or being incorrect because of the friendly encouraging atmosphere. .From an aspiring beginner to an experienced musician looking for guidance, I believe Francesca's lessons could be helpful to anyone looking to improve on or become a musician."

As a music educator and performer, I’m always interested in learning about new products and tools that can help students succeed. When I discovered the Loog Guitar, a 3-string interchangeable guitar designed with children in mind, I immediately took notice. I was excited to find out more about the Loog because I took guitar lessons when I was 8 years old, and it proved to be easier said than done. The guitar was added to the list of instruments that were uncomfortable for my tiny hands (w …
