I'm a believer that almost anyone can learn to play music well, and guitar is no exception. It's something which seems difficult at first, but has a series of specific steps (like any instrument) which take the mystery out of it, and get you playing in no time! I love seeing students improve on this instrument and seeing how much fun they have once they begin to play songs they love.

About Colin

I'm a life-long musician with a passion for the art and a love of teaching it. In 2012, I graduated from Sacramento State with a Bachelors in Music. Through my schooling and personal study, I have become a well-rounded musician able to teach many instruments effectively. Making music with others

Esther is amazing! My daughter enjoys her piano lessons.

Mrs. Esther is a really kind, patient, and honest piano teacher. She helped me work through my mistakes and told me what I needed to work on in order to improve. Her way of teaching is effective and it helped me gain more knowledge about piano and the techniques of being a good pianist. She is very caring and understands when I'm in a difficult situation and she always encourages me to keep going. I enjoyed all the experiences I had with Mrs. Esther and the unique personality she had. For the past 9 years, I have learned a lot about music and the hard work that goes into playing the piano. I will never regret having Mrs. Esther as my piano teacher and the adventures I had.
Lawrence
Mrs. Esther has taught me piano over the past 9 years. Over those years, I was able to learn a lot about the innerworkings of the piano, both theory and playing. Mrs. Esther carefully taught me piano with both elegance and patience and created wonderful experiences through the community concerts that she holds. Her kindness reached me in times where I was overburdened with both the study of piano and my schoolwork. The 9 years of piano that I spent with her have been very rewarding and an experience that I will continue to cherish as I continue pianoing.

I have devoted much of my life to music, and through MY decades’ worth of study in the jazz vernacular and wide knowledge of music from the past hundred years, hopes to be able to impart this same enthusiasm to his listeners and students.

I am a guitarist and composer from Seattle Washington. Beginning in 1995 I studied with Seattle musicians such as John Hanberry, Ev Stern and Milo Peterson. I have led and co-lead a number of different groups in Seattle performing at local clubs, weddings and bars ranging in styles including jazz, funk, swing and old time string music. Most notably I hosted the local Thursday night jazz jam session (2015-2017) and played double bass for the ‘20s jazz and Appalachian fiddle music band Porterbelly (2012-2020). In 2020, I moved to New York City to study at NYU.

The Guitar is my first love. I customize every lesson for every individual student that I have, and base the heart of each lesson off of the infatuation I have for my six-stringed side kick. I love to use the guitar as a tool to expand my students creativity. My students learn to listen and appreciate a broad variety of styles and experience the full music spectrum.
Lessons will cover scales, theory, chords, jazz and blues progression as well as Crafting your tone for your amplifier, finger picking and performance techniques.

About Rachel

I started my musical path in a Ballet Studio. I fell in love with the crackle of the vinyl record playing as I learned to listen and dance with the rhythm. I started playing the guitar when I was in elementary and took classical lessons until I was a teenager. I really enjoy the art of practice

"If you are tired of guitar teachers who half-try through a song a week leaving you constantly learning new material but somehow never making any progress...stop. You are not doing yourself any favors. What you need is a teacher like David who actually gives a care about your playing and has the ability to break down your technique and give you an analysis of what you need to become a better player. With the benefit of David's coaching, I have made changes to my form and finger placement for the better. These are the hard changes in ingrained habits I needed to make to take my playing to the next level.

I would also encourage you to take advantage of David's expertise as an engineer if you are his student. He has recorded many bands and is very generous with his home studio for his students. The ability to record without the pressure of "being in the studio" is huge. Even if you do not currently have plans to record, the experience of playing in front of a microphone is very educational and listening to the subsequent recording is a great learning tool.

Taking lessons are pointless if both sides are not engaged. David is a rare guitar teacher who is committed to the growth of every student. If you are similarly committed to your own growth, I can't think of a better teacher for you to study the guitar with."

"I first picked up a guitar roughly 50 years ago and tried to teach myself how to play with a chord book. I learned a lot of chords and songs from sheet music, and learned to do a fair job of playing by ear. But I was never really satisfied, and only picked up my guitar occasionally over the past 30 years. I retired recently and decided I wanted to learn to play the correct way. I did an online search for teachers in my area and found Jordan who lives close by. Jordan asked what my interest was, and I told him I wanted to learn the fundamentals and build from there. We started off with a song I was interested in, and then began working on the basics of music theory, reading and identifying notes on sheet music, and learning to play all the different scales while identifying and calling out the notes. I have a long way to go, and my older hands don't always cooperate like I want them to; but I'm also having the time of my life. I look forward to my weekly lessons and enjoy the time I spend with Jordan."

I have taken a few guitar lessons in the past with another instructor and he just does not compair to Tom's style of instruction. What I mean by that is Tom was able to assess exactly where my skill level, understanding, and rate of retension rather quickly apposed to waisting my time we were able to start exactly where I needed to. From there, I was astonished with how much knowledge Tom has of music theory and his skill of explaining it each step of the way. I'm excited to continue my lesssons with him!
