I've been teaching guitar and bass for over 12 years and have crafted a system of teaching that allows you to learn the songs and music you like while providing a foundation of music theory, technique and improvisation. Within your first lesson you'll discover hidden skills on the instrument you didn't realize were available to you! We can even record the lessons to listen back later (a helpful tool), as well as work on writing and recording some of your own music! I specialize in rock, blues, classical, heavy metal, acoustic/ finger-style, jazz and country...so whatever your preference, I can help you become great at it!

About Maximilian
I have been playing for over 20 years and teaching for the last 12. Growing up as a student of Steve Vai, I was enthralled by the technicality of the guitar and used my abilities to receive a Bachelor's of Music degree from Cal State Northridge, in classical guitar and later studied jazz in the Master's Program at the prestigious Conservatory of Cologne, Germany. Currently I perform with various touring pop artists and local musicians in genres ranging from R&B and soul to country, rock and blues.

I have crafted a guitar method that encompasses all aspects of learning the guitar, from technique to reading music, in a fun way that is efficient and easily understood. With a focus on quick results and performance, I've had many students who have gone on to professional music careers.

Not only will you receive a personalized lesson pla
n geared toward you and your goals, but I can also offer other music instruction such as songwriting, ear training, & production/recording. I'll can even help you record your demos at my studio using top quality gear!

I focus on musicality when I teach any instrument. With the guitar, that means keeping great rhythm, using rich chords and melodic solos, and playing with careful expressiveness.

We learn from the greats (Beatles, Police, Radiohead, etc) and learn to create and express from there.

About Colin
I'm an avid music fan familiar with rock (indie rock, classic rock, alternative), pop, funk, disco, and classical genres. Music has been my "thing" since the day I was born and I love connecting with people through their favorite music.

My lessons focus on empowering each student with the skills to play what they want to play.

If you want to have a good time playing great music, you've come to the right teacher!

*** Lesson Details ***
You and I work on simple exercises that help get you to the next level in your performance and then apply the principle taught to a piece of music you are familiar with. It's a great method that gets you playing what you want to play at the level you want to play it at.

*** Studio Equipment ***
All of the instruments that I teach (guitar, bass, upright bass) as well as recording gear (Pro Tools
, mics, synths, etc.)

*** Travel Equipment ***
Any instrument that I teach.

Colin is an experienced music producer and very knowledgeable in the ins and outs of pro-tools. Our lessons were super helpful. Pro tools was very daunting to learn and he knew just how to break it down. I went in really not knowing much at all and with our time together I'm now confident to make my own recordings sound great!

Want to play your favorite songs? Interested in learning to write and record your own music? I will help you build a solid foundation of music theory and technique while tailoring to your personal tastes and goals. Part of my lesson plan involves me recording, mixing and producing a song that you eventually compose. Shoot me a message to see if we're a good match!

About Max
I love to teach. I started teaching privately while earning my Music Engineering degree (B.S.) from the University of Miami. I studied jazz guitar at UM and during my 10 years as a guitarist I have played many other genres from folk to metal to pop.
Most of my tutoring experience during college focused on math courses, SAT prep and music theory.
I am great with kids; I taught summer camps at a town-run skatepark for 4 summers.
Give me a call to see if we are a good fit!

Max has been on time every time. He has established a very good rapport with my 15 year old (!!!) son which results in my son doing the homework and not dreading the sessions. My son seems relieved to be understanding the Algebra II concepts that he missed during the past term. He also seems way more confident and in a much better mood as if solving this issue for school was weighing him down before. In addition Max is very pleasant, very polite so his presence is welcomed by the rest of the family. Thanks!!!

I’ve been playing guitar for 24 years, have played in many bands across a wide range of genres. I aim for my students to be versatile and well-rounded, able to pick, strum, tap, bend, squeal, sweep, read, write, shred, improvise, etc.
If you’re a beginner and don’t know where to start, I’ll guide you step by step through the enigma of the fretboard while ensuring solid technique, theory, and application.
If you’re a seasoned player that just needs to dust off your chops or learn some new tricks for your repertoire, I can help there too.

About Stephen
Why should you take lessons from me?
There are some musicians who teach only as a way to make ends meet and there are those who are passionate about education in general. There are some music teachers who will show you how to play songs and call it a day. That's giving the hungry a fish. I prefer to teach the hungry how to catch fish. Why you use a certain rod, line, lure, how to find fish, what fish are edible, how to drive a boat, etc...In musical terms this translates to things such as why you hold an instrument a certain way, the logic behind finger positions, how to construct chords/scales then use them, how to count musically and why, etc...I teach how to think musically and creatively on and off of the page and have a vested interest in the progress of my students.

I want to have you walking out of the lesson happy, and excited to go home and practice some new material. With me you'll learn about guitar, but you'll also learn about music and how playing can help you in life (perseverance, basic math foundations, etc.)

About Chris
I am a jazz guitarist based out of beautiful Los Angeles, California. I received and Associate of Arts degree in Music in 2015, and have been pursuing a bachelors in Jazz Studies since then.

While in community college I really grew into my own as a musician and discovered that I love jazz. Not only the music, but the history of how it formed as well as the differences from classical music. When at school I stood out from the other guitarists because I was hungry to learn and that attitude will hopefully follow me for the rest of my life.

Thats what I'd hope to pass on the students; that knowledge, be it music, english, math, physiology, etc. is the key to everything. And that it doesn't have to be all stuffy and boring! I tailor my lessons to the student whether its guitar, piano, ukulele, etc. and my main objective is to learn and
have fun, so the learning is reinforced with good natured thoughts. This will set up the student to actually want to practice!

As a musician I've been in a couple of groups, and starting to get a jazz group together recently. I also try to utilize the computer to produce when possible so I can learn about that aspect of music. My passion is improvisation/composition, because I hope to one day leave songs behind that people can play forever and be influenced by them like so many have influenced me.

Mr. Chris is really pleasant and fun teacher. He was on time and made his first lesson very interesting. He reviewed my son patiently for whatever he has learned before and then introduced him to some new notes. He didn’t rush with the time and made sure my son is comfortable with him.
Looking forward to the next class with him.👍🏻

He is clearly very educated in all styles of music and he had great lesson plans that were specifically tailored for my level of playing. Lastly, he does a fantastic job of making sure I'm having fun while learning music.

My son has never played a musical instrument so I wasn't sure how this would go, but Christopher has really connected with him. He came home and actually practiced during the week! And Christopher always comes out after the lesson and gives me a little update which matters to me as a mom. I also appreciate how he doesn't just boot him out the door at the end of the lesson. AND my son is actually talking about music! Definitely learning more than just some chords. Good instructor who obviously loves and respects music. :)

Beginner Guitar lessons include: Chord and Chord Shapes (Open and Barred), Scales, Rhythm, Blues Licks, and Song Form.

About Eric
MUSIC!
I think music is the most beautiful thing in the world, so lets take time to learn and play music together.
I have been playing the drums for over sixteen years, and been in over fifteen bands in the course of that time. I have a degree in Music from the Berklee College of Music were I studied music theory and focused on Music Production and Engineering. I have been playing Piano, Bass, and Guitar for about ten years in addition to the drums, and have been recorded in sessions on each. I have a deep passion for synthesizers and electronic music, so lets make some bleeps and bloops together.

I am extremely kind, friendly, and funny so lessons with me are very relaxed and have an easy to learn environment. However I am very passionate about teaching to fit student needs; so if a student likes deadlines and homework, if that is w
hat will help them learn the best, then that is how I will teach.
Lets make some sweet music together!!

I play guitar since I am 10 years old and I have never been into a music school. My guitar teacher was certificated by some jazz school and public music school so I know the theory but it is not necessary the most important step especially when you begin. You need to enjoy your time with your guitar and that is my goal for you.
My philosophy of teaching will be to fit you and your expectations about the instrument to always have pleasure when you play so having the envy to pursue.

About Florian
I am a french guitarist, bassist, drummer, pianist, singer, didgeridoo player, composer and sound engineer. I am certified by ESRA-ISTS in France that is a school for audiovisual and sound. My own music is more blues, rock, funk, world, hip hop but when I do produce for others it can be jazz or orchestral too.

Guitar and bassist students can expect to have the same kind of lessons I had. I will focus on your expectations, your goals and we will work mostly around music that you do like or want to work on.

For sound engineering I do have a ProTools 12HD user level certified by Avid. I can teach you also Logic Pro. We will discover the soft and their own logic to record, edit, mix, produce, create sounds.

For french students, I am a native french from Paris. I have moved in the USA almost 2 years ago and I am according to my friends here
very good with English. Same things than for the others, we will move at your rhythm because every student is special and develop her/his skills at her/his own time. We will work with written part and phonetically part. As you may know Paris, as a big city, doesn't have to much accent so it will be the more neutral french accent that you can find.
