Kyle is a great piano teacher! He is very patient with my 12-year old son. Just yesterday he referred to him as “fun Kyle” because he teaches him small songs on the side that he can show friends and family or are for upcoming holidays. He’s always punctual and respectful of our family and home. I’m grateful to have found him!

Kyle is patient and a great instructor.

I've been teaching private / group lesson, as well as teaching and conducting orchestras and ensembles, and performing in few countries since 2008, Full-time.. I'm a certified Suzuki Teacher starting 2008. I love what I am doing, and I love working with someone, sharing my thoughts and idea, solving problems, and seeing someone grow up nurtured with good music.

I did my bachelor degree with Russian professor (Russian methods and approaches), and my Master in Violin Performing and Pedagogy with Canadian teacher, and she's using Galamian teaching. I've been working with many people from Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Canada, Singapore, Russia, Italy, Switz, Germany, Netherlands, and the USA. I'm part of orchestras in Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, Russia, and Canada.

Aside of music, I also have deep interest on psychology, design, and definitely traveling :)
I really know how to make a lesson very efficient in an informal and relaxed atmosphere.

Hello! I've been performing for 21 years and teaching for 15 years. Teaching has always been a passion for me! Whether you're an adult trying the violin or viola for the first time, or a dedicated student aiming to major in music, I can adapt my approach to suit your needs. I will help you build confidence in your playing through presenting attainable goals each week, while also providing appropriate challenges. I aim to help you feel comfortable and natural as you play by prioritizing proper posture and technique.

I have a Master's degree from the Peabody Conservatory in Violin Performance with an emphasis in pedagogy. I have performed in the U.S.A. and Europe, with well-known artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Yo-Yo Ma, Itzahk Perlman, and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. My teacher training includes the Suzuki method (registered for books 1-5) and the Mark O'Connor method (certified for books 1-2).

My hope is that the violin or viola becomes a constant source of inspiration and ...

Mrs. Hollis is a very kind and patient instructor. She is great at teaching technique and important skills that have to be learned in order to play the violin at your best. My son Ben absolutely loves taking lessons with her and he has learned so much. She is so professional, talented and has so much experience! She is a perfect instructor for anyone who would like to learn to Play the violin!
Olivia
Mrs. Hammonds is such a wonderful teacher! I came to her when I just started high school and was overwhelmed with joy when I found such a great teacher. Focusing on memorization, technique, and working on a solid foundation even after playing for 10 years prior, really reflected in my playing. I think she was the teacher who really showed me why I wanted to play violin and set my foundation up to improve more and more even today!
Kim
As an adult student that let my violin sit idle for too many years, Hollis was able to help me regain some basics skills and build upon them to re-learn different playing styles. Her approach was refreshing and focused on helping me re-learn some classical pieces that were familiar to my background. In addition, she introduced some jazz and fiddle pieces that I was interested in branching out with and worked with me to fine tune bowing techniques for each style.
I would highly recommend Hollis as an instructor for anyone starting out or looking to improve upon existing skills!

Dr. Kim helped me build the foundation to my violin playing. As a young learner at 8 years old, he shaped my technique and provided me with the guidance that helped me become the violinist I am today. I studied with Dr. Kim for 10 years up until I went to college, where I am earning a degree in music. I can attribute this privilege to Dr. Kim for pushing me to grow and for teaching me so much during my early years.

Dr. Kim is a encyclopedia of Galamian based knowledge.

It’s been a long time since i first met Dr. Chin Kim, however, I clearly remember how his lesson was so scientifically approached and technically making sense in every details. Since then, I kept playing for him and got much ideas and much help from him which I still do time to time.
Although enough of his degrees, he constantly studies the music (I also have seen him taking a music theory class) and he is very diligent in self-enrichment.
Dr. Kim is very friendly to his students and he could be a good adviser not only in playing the violin but in elsewise, too.
I hope lots of musicians get a chance to meet him and play for him. I guarantee it’s worth much

"Mr. Mark is an amazing teacher who is very accommodating and so relaxed when he teaches that won't make a student be intimidated at all. I can see that my daughter is very comfortable with him during the lessons especially with sharing some ideas and thoughts for her improvement in playing her violin. After just a few sessions, my daughter already told me that she became more confident in playing with the orchestra in school. She said that Mr. Mark knows what he is talking about. 😊👍"

"My son has been learning violin lessons from Jonathan since the summer of 2014 when he was 10. We are so fortunate to find Jonathan at takelessons.com and very happy and grateful to have him as a private tutor throughout the years. Jonathan is a brilliant musician and passionate violinist, very professional. He is really good at teaching, very patient and detailed. Whenever my son made a mistake, he would immediately point it out and show him the right way to do it and have him practice time and time again until he got it right. He would also write notes on my son’s music sheet to remind him things he needs to pay attention to during his practice at home. Jonathan also organizes recitals regularly for all his students to gather together and play in a concert like atmosphere and interact and learn from each other, which is really a wonderful experience. Jonathan can be reached easily by text message, email or phone and we have never run into any problem rescheduling a lesson or anything else. I highly recommend Jonathan for anyone who wants to learn violin or music in general."

How Much Does a Violin Cost?

It’s no surprise that when you decide to take violin lessons, you need a violin! It's common for absolute beginners to rent a violin for a few months until they are sure they are ready to take the next step of buying their instrument. If you are in this stage, your next question is likely this: how much does a violin cost? Although violin prices can run the gamut from $100 to $100,000 and more, as a beginner, you need an instrument that suits your current abilities without being too pricey. …
