Music Theory is a subject that thrills me to no end! I have studied under Gerard D'Angelo at The New School of Music in NYC.
Theory is the written language of music, and as we translate it we gain insights into how music "works".
We will begin with the basic foundations: scales, chords, and arpeggios; but I invite you to approach them with a curious heart,
and explore why these simple patterns can explain seemingly complex compositions.

I've been teaching Music Theory for over three years. I treat these lessons much like a classroom setting in which I instruct the basic tenants of music theory in order to help students understand it in accordance with their instrument of choice (including voice). An introduction to orchestration and how their instrument functions within the orchestra will also be instructed. We will use classwork and homework to detail what is instructed as well as multimedia to aid in our learning!
If you're looking for your child to improve their music aptitude, you've come to the right place! Let's get started!

It has been truly incredible to witness my fiance transform in a few short weeks from someone scared of learning a new instrument to someone who is confident that he can learn a new skill provided he puts in the time and effort to practice and show up! Michael has given him the confidence and the inspiration to make amazing progress as a student.
I highly recommend Michael as an instructor. He really makes the virtual format work and he knows how to introduce beginner musicians to the joys of learning how to express yourself on an instrument.

I studied jazz and world music in college, so I have extensive knowledge of advanced music theory. I also help students with ear training so they can figure out songs on their own. While I believe that music theory is second in importance to being able to play your instrument, I feel it is essential in creating well rounded musicians.

Hello fellow and future musicians, and thanks for checking out my profile! To tell you a little about myself, I was exposed to music at a very young age since my dad was a musician. I first picked up the drums at the age of 5, and took piano lessons for a year when I was 6. I later played the sa

I met Dave in my music theory class at Ex'pression college. He's the reason why I'm making music today. I went from not knowing a thing about music theory or a piano to creating chord progressions, understanding modes, intervals, modal interchange, and how to read sheet music. He's extremely patient, professional, and easy to get along with. His passion for music and teaching is infectious, I highly recommend!!!"

Thank you!!
Kind regards,
